All I want is Ferrari to give Lewis more power. The car is great in the corners

All I want is for Mercedes to give George a car that doesn’t break down & Lando’s team to listen to him

Brazilianadventure · 04/10/2026 11:23

Well done Max, Kimi and Lewis.

Liam did well, Alonso got points and Arvid got the last point.

Good race. Why do we not have this track on the calendar instead of the new street circuits.

Isn’t that the second time George was near the front and his engine went - Canada I think.

And close to Kimi when his engine went. I'm no conspiracy theorist but I find his level of luck highly suspicious, in the same way I find Merc not giving McLaren the correct information regarding the PU suspicious.

Sack the sound engineer

Comefromaway · 04/10/2026 11:43

Lewis didn’t fancy the smell of the rose water

Comefromaway · 04/10/2026 12:14

Well, not the result myself of Papaya wanted but we are celebrating anyway

Wow, I feel exhausted just from watching that race. And it’s only lunchtime. Feels like the longest day ever!

Delighted that Lewis made the podium as seeing him going so slowly in that formation lap was heartbreaking. Almost as heartbreaking as seeing poor George grind to a halt.

My boyfriend decided to watch F1 for the first time ever today. Between the Max-Lewis front row and the weather, I think he couldn’t resist even through he knows sweet fa about it but is trying to be ‘supportive’ of me. Now I think the poor man is broken after the last 4 hours and VERY confused. 😂

Poor George.

I really wanted the points gap to reduce to give us a more exciting end of season.

What a long morning.

Comefromaway · 04/10/2026 12:42

Handing virtual tea & cake round. I think we all need it 🫖🎂🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰☕️☕️☕️

Fizbosshoes · 04/10/2026 13:16

I did my own race this morning (no rain here, and I was v happy with how it went) and decided it would be too stressful to listen to the F1 race in the car , (i left at 8) and find my way to my race....but obvs that wasnt a problem! I was amazed i did a 10k, a cool down, watched the prize giving and the F1 was still happening!! 😳

I checked my phone a few times during prize-giving and saw George was 3rd
...then checked later and he was nowhere, text DS but hed had to go out so we watched the last 10 laps to see what happened. Im so so gutted for George, hes had such bad luck this season thats not the way I wanted OP to leave his predictable p7 behind....

And i hope Lando isnt penalised he didnt gain any advantage

Comefromaway · 04/10/2026 13:24

Well done Fiz.

dd aka PieceofPapaya is running a half marathon at Silverstone in aid of Race Against Dementia.

Wakemeuuuup · 04/10/2026 16:01

That was a good race. Absolutely delighted for Lewis and the support he for from the crowd.

Poor George

gingercat02 · 04/10/2026 16:38

Just caught up! That was a bizarre morning for those of you watching live.
Good race DS will be delighted with Max's win.
WDC must be all but guaranteed now surely?
A wet race is always good value.

Truetoself · 04/10/2026 17:53

Just venting- Ferrari and their crappy strategists and race engineers. Hamilton had to suggest rebooting the car when it lost power. HE also suggested staying out when they asked him to come in for a tyre change…… I mean the people who are supposed to be analysing data , working oth strategy and helping him are clearly not up for the job!

if I have enough time to learn how to analyse F1 data etc I am certain I can do a better job. Not sure how to go about applying for the role 🤔

on a serious role- even Santi is bloody useless as an engineer and doesn’t give Hamilton the help or information he needs. They really need different people if next year is going to be any better

Brazilianadventure · 04/10/2026 18:18

If I was Ferrari I would be getting Bernie Collins onboard as she is an excellent strategist.

We should have Malaysia on the calendar every year

Totally agree. Bernie would do a better job than the current Ferrari ‘strategists’ even if she did it on the side while still commentating for Sky!

Race week again. The triple headers must be brutal for the teams.

Valterri has cycled from Sepang to Singapore - other drivers took a more conventional route. At least Valterri must be acclimatised to the heat.

George to take an engine penalty 😢. Merc to split aero on the cars as the last upgrade for Sepang didn’t match expectations.

Ferrari seem to have had a clear the air discussions. It’s clear Lewis is challenging the - this is how Ferrari do it, mentality which is what Michael did. I hope it pays off for 2027 as Ferrari are not that far off fighting for a championship if they get the engine and strategy right.

@Brazilianadventurein order to do that they need to change the team behind the drivers. Will they? Lewis implied that the people higher up than Fred have control?

This may be complete rubbish but from a post on X
“According to AutoRacer, the seven-time champion has built a solid group of engineers around him, partially outside Ferrari’s historic core, with a different method and a more direct use of his feedback to identify technical problems and priorities.
^^
The key point is that Hamilton is starting to win internal consensus. Charles Leclerc, initially with different references from having been trained within Ferrari, is gradually coming around to several of his teammate’s conclusions. When two drivers with different styles and sensitivities point out the same problems, the technical argument carries much more weight.
^^
Hamilton has also publicly backed Fred Vasseur, though he’s suggested that some internal structures and dynamics could evolve. Motorsport
^^
His podium in Sepang strengthens that momentum, but the real battle is inside Maranello: turning his group’s method into a way of working accepted by all of Ferrari.
^^
If Leclerc and Hamilton end up pushing in the same direction, will Ferrari be able to ignore those calls for change?”

Lewis knows how world championship winning teams, McLaren and Mercedes, go about winning. I think Mercedes in particular is very much a team and Lewis is bringing his experience. He has had some wins in terms of the Brembo brakes, the set up changes earlier in the year which Charles followed and won, the changes he made on Saturday to qualify 2nd where he took a risk. The fact Lewis is driving Ferrari forward and taking Charles with him and is getting the results should penetrate the senior managers.

Remember Michael went to Ferrari in 1996 and only won the WDC in 2000 and he had a team with Jean Todt and Ross Brawn to achieve that. My concern is does Lewis have 4 years.

Theres (unsurprisingly for Singapore) a heat hazard warning for the weekend , which makes it even more bonkers that Mercedes wont be using the cooling vests.

McLaren have got some custom lids which I really like.

Mercedes are trying 2 different set ups, George explained it on instagram, but their admin got mostly roasted in the comments for the way they worded the post.
