Just before the papaya incident I was thinking nobody was going to try and pass among the front runners as the risk wasn’t worth it. Lando proved me right.

And I can’t believe after his fantastic start George crashed

Im pissed that OP would have got a much needed puny number of points and he leaves with bugger all and Lando only got 1 point anyway

Happy for Lewis though, he had an epic start!

Not sure I want to watch quali. What’s the point with George’s massive grid penalty. I guess he’ll be told to give Kimi a tow.

Yes. He got the car started back to the pits and then it happened again.

I didnt see quali but thats probably a relief tbh.
Was going to watch later but accidentally saw the mcLaren results on instagram. Another p7 for OP (I was hoping he had started to improve)

Really disappointing for Hadjar as he has been driving really well.

Sorry for a dumb question how does George's qualifying work when we know he is taking a grid penalty? Does he start right at the back or a certain number of grid places back?

Also (another silly question - sorry) would Mercedes have had eg half an hour longer to work on fixing George's (crashed) car than McLaren would for theirs....or do they all get the same time at the end of the race, whenever they dnfed

WRT fixing the cars, it all depends on when the cars are returned to the garage. There is no limit on the time spent between the sprint and quali other than by the start of quali.

The car most likely to have been started first is Lando’s because he finished the race and returned the cars to the pit. On a street circuit like Singapore they might have to wait for the Sprint to finish before they return the cars along the race circuit.

Hmmm, that’s strange. When I click on it myself from my iPad (which has a different Instagram account on it) the account I linked from doesn’t show

Sky reporting that when Lando and Oscar went to the stewards Oscar said he was partly to blame so Lando didn’t get a penalty and McLaren kept the point. Full credit to Oscar for that.

Internally McLaren not happy with Lando.

At least George didn’t start 22nd as Isack & the Astons did pit lane starts.

George up to 15 - given it’s a difficult track to overtake on I hope he steadily goes forward.

Russell might get some points 🙏

Ferrari messing up Lewis’ strategy again.

The good thing about Singapore is the length of the track so less chance lapped drivers will get in the way,

VSC helping George and Ferrari favouring Charles.

Scrub that VSC ended just too soon but still helping George who should get some points.

Come on Ferrari dont fuck this up
