The ref and VAR had a bad game, in the first couple of minutes there should have been a red card, a missed penalty and some play acting which just was allowed to go on.

Yes, those two dangerous tackles didn't even get a yellow.

Agreed. Terrible refereeing (and VARing). Blatant penalty, but also lots being missed the other way.

The death of that Tenerife player after the reckless challenge from the goalkeeper is horrifying. Whilst I’m sure that was in no way the keepers intention that kind of recklessness should have no place in football. My thoughts are with everyone involved.

Horrendous. I've not seen the tackle in question but no one goes out to play a game of sport to not come home.

I just saw a clip of it and has brought me to tears.

That poor man-only 30 years old.

Reminds me a little of the hockey player who died from a high skate slash to the neck.

The goalie's knee was up very high but he was jumping for the ball-
it just happened so so fast as they were both running flat out.
It just hearbreaking.
