Well, the bottom of the article specifically mentioned how Everton was punished as a comparison.
I'm not naive enough to think that there is no corruption in football (and I assume it is much worse in some other countries compared to the UK), but the fact that the way that rich and poor clubs are treated differently is all out in the open and no-one does anything about it is galling.
I suppose the EFL and the other rich clubs just think that it is for the greater good of the game. Chelsea and Man City are too big to fail because if they were relegated then the PL would lose a lot if its appeal and that would affect all the leagues.
I'm sure that the leagues in other countries are much more corrupt, but they probably don't even bother to investigate the corruption.
The EFL goes through the motions, but at the end of the day all that matters is money.
