Woo-hoo! A win at last. My girl Stina does the business again. Phew. 12 noon kickoffs are stupid but at least if we win, I can enjoy the rest of the weekend's matches. Or I would if it wasn't for simultaneous kickoff times.
Which leads me to a rant...
I hate Sky and I hate the idiots at WPLL or whatever they are called these days for agreeing to put the vast majority the WSL behind a pay wall and awarding the contract to Sky at all. Women's football should be on a terrestrial channel - BBC, Channel 4 or Channel 5, ITV. Sky have shown that they just don't understand their (potential) audience or they got research results that they didn't like and decided to do what they were going to do anyway and bend the viewers to their will. We've got 4.5 more years of this nonsense and the women's game will be lucky to survive. £65 million isn't worth it. The game needs more eyes on it - that should be the priority at the moment, not the money. The money will follow the size and commitment of the audience.
Rant over. I thank you.
