Happy New Year.

We start with the first all teams season launch on 18 February. Ferrari reveal their 2025 car the day after.

Pre season testing will take place on 26 to 28 February in Bahrain. Australia will host the opening race on Sunday March 16th.

He was also very clearly emotional in the interviews.

Crazy that I’m here feeling for one of the world’s most successful millionaires 😁

RockaLock · 02/06/2025 17:12

I can’t watch Lewis’ post-race interviews any more, they are quite distressing to see, as he is clearly so unhappy 🙁🙁

Lando’s, yesterday, on the other hand was hilarious to watch! Avoiding answering all the questions about the Max/George incident, and looking a bit sheepish when he realised that his Mario Kart comment had been heard by everyone 😂

spottedinthewilds · 02/06/2025 17:16

I’m so sad for Hamilton. But mostly annoyed at him for not giving up whilst he was ahead. We always look back on Senna as some amazing hero, partly I think because he died. He was immortalised at that point.

Lewis should have retired at 7 championships and left it at that. We never would have known what his full potential was from that point.

Now, all the new F1 fans see is someone who is having the worst luck and has really lost his touch.

This is a really really sad end to his career. (I know it’s not ended yet, but I can’t see him getting his former glory back).

Like a bad gambler, he should have quit whilst he was ahead.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I know he very nearly won an 8th. Maybe he should have given up then too.

RockaLock · 02/06/2025 18:14

Yes, I agree, that’s what we’ve been saying too - we’d rather remember Lewis as a champion retiring at the top of his game, than fading away and doing badly in his final years.

I can understand him wanting an 8th though, especially after he was cheated out of 2021. And wanting to fulfil a dream of racing for Ferrari. It’s just such a shame that it hasn’t worked out for him.

He looked so upbeat after the Spanish qualifying, when he’d out qualified Charles. And he did win the China sprint. So it’s puzzling me why sometimes he can perform this season, but mostly he can’t.

Hazeby · 02/06/2025 19:35

I adore Lewis but this air of gloom and disaster feels a bit much. He’s still in F1, still in a top team. He has a few years left maybe so why not just enjoy it? You don’t see Alonso moping around!

Surely he understands that he can’t keep winning forever, no one can, and why not make the most of the time he has left.

mydogisthebest · 02/06/2025 19:48

I think if Lewis had won the 2021 championship that was rightfully his he may well have retired then.

As a massive Lewis fan I find it sad seeing how down he is

Rinoachicken · 02/06/2025 20:19

He has struggled with depression most of his life.

I’ve been watching DTS to sort of catch up on what I’ve missed even though I know it’s not all accurate (not mentioning Russell’s dsq in Belgium 2024 was a big omission). Just finished season 4 (Abu Dhabi 21) and I can’t believe I completely missed this happening at the time 🤦‍♀️

Also loved the Haas episode where they brought two rookies in after firing their experienced drivers and were sponsored by a Russian fertiliser company of all things that just happened to owned by Mazepin’s father.

Piffle11 · 04/06/2025 13:27

I usually really enjoy DTS, but I thought the last season wasn’t as good. There were a few things that I’d liked to have heard more about… I thought they would’ve made more of Ollie Bearman in the Ferrari, The Ocon-Gasly situation (and subsequently Ocon leaving Alpine early) for starters. I did enjoy the episode in Singapore where they gave the drivers camera phones, and I like the episode where Kimi got his seat.

To be fair, I often watch it when I’m ironing so I may have missed some stuff!

I liked the Singapore episode too. I’ve been to Singapore a couple of times for a stopover while flying from Australia to Europe and the heat and humidity there is no joke.

Piffle11 · 04/06/2025 13:35

George looked terrible, didn’t he?

BeKindOpalBear · 05/06/2025 16:10

Anyone going to Silverstone this year? I am, last time was ten years ago!

Have a fantastic time and, as I always say, remember suncream and rainwear!

I am not able to walk very far so going to GP is too much for me these days. Obviously if I win the EuroMillions then It’s Paddock Club and first class flights all the way. 😂

Lucky you! I’m jealous.

I’ve never been to a race. Melbourne is the closest for me but it’s so expensive these days. Maybe if I could get cheap flights I’d consider it but I don’t think I’d drive all that way just for a weekend (I’m in Adelaide) but not in my current car.

Brazilianadventure · 13/06/2025 18:09

Race weekend plus Le Mans with JB racing.

Lance Stroll is back, apparently it’s his right hand that was giving him a problem.

Ferrari and Fred are under fire. Lewis is clear he supports Fred and he wants to work with him long term. Lewis clearly sees this like Michael did, it will take time to improve.

Max only needs 1 more penalty point to get a one race ban. Two points expire on 30th June, so he has to get through Canada and Austria cleanly.

Also meant to say MBS has further consolidated his power. Not good for F1 and motor sport.

Brazilianadventure · 14/06/2025 18:05

Nico is back - very clear Hadjar says No to RB if they want to swap him with Yuki.

Someone on X pondered if JB was doing Le Mans to avoid Danica 😂.

Well done George, Max and Oscar.

I feel sorry for Lando, he just couldn’t put the lap together in Q3. Charles has also struggled.

Good laps from Fernando and Lewis.

bluetongue · 14/06/2025 22:30

Massive from George. He was so excited and I love it (know he’s not liked by some here though).

Brazilianadventure · 15/06/2025 19:35

Well done to Robert Kubica on winning Le Mans.

Well Ferrari messed up Lewis’ strategy. Why drop him in so much traffic.

I'm a George fan. My F1 knowledge is very rusty these days, I didn't realise what he meant about the points on Verstsappens license. Champions usually grow on me, I grew to like Schumacher back in the day but Max has not grown on me at all.

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 15/06/2025 20:29

Nooooooooooooo

Brazilianadventure · 15/06/2025 20:30

Ouch for McLaren. I think Oscar squeezed Lando.

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 15/06/2025 20:31

Lando went for a space that wasn’t there.

Piffle11 · 15/06/2025 20:34

Great race, shame about the safety car ending.
