Happy New Year.

We start with the first all teams season launch on 18 February. Ferrari reveal their 2025 car the day after.

Pre season testing will take place on 26 to 28 February in Bahrain. Australia will host the opening race on Sunday March 16th.

That was a good qually. Well done Oscar & Lando.

So the technical changes haven’t affected the McLaren - poor CH who apparently has been a strong advocate for the changes.

CH is also trying to get the 2026 engine regulations changed. Apparently only Mercedes are able to meet the requirements. Personally I think it’s unfair to penalise Merc for doing a good job.

That was mega from Oscar. I din’t know him but as an Australian I’m so proud. It’s so hard to make it to the top of Motorsport (or any sport really) when you’re so far from Europe.

Piffle11 · 31/05/2025 16:38

Oscar is very special, isn’t he. He’s got a great car and he clearly can get the maximum out of it … But there’s something else about him as well. The mentality. I like him.

How long do we think it will be before Isack Hadjar is moved to the second RB seat?

I hope not until next year. RB have messed up so many young drivers maybe they will learn from Liam.

if that Red Bull is as difficult to drive as everyone says (exception being Max) then they should stop swapping the drivers around and just write off the constructor’s championship for this year. Surely they’re doing more damage to their young drivers by offering the opportunity of a ‘promotion’ which they can’t possibly exploit. Red Bull clearly want to appease the Verstappen camp, but that is clearly coming to the detriment of the ‘team’ sport.

I really really hope if they offer it to him he turns it down. He is doing a brilliant job where he is and building experience and learning quickly. Red bull would chew him up and spit him out. They don't give a crap about their drivers. Hadjar could have a great future, hopefully moving from the racing bulls to a more competitive car next year. I'd love to see him with Alonso in Adrian Neweys Aston Martin.

I don't think he gets to turn it down as he's an RB driver, and I don't think Helmut gives a dam about doing whats best for the drivers unless its Max. I wonder what Sainz could have done with it, he's probably thinking its turned out for the best that he didn't get that seat. Don't see Lance Stroll quitting anytime soon either be a bit awkward after his dad has spent millions on buying him a team and funding it enough to be a serious contender in a couple of years.

midlandsmummy123 · 31/05/2025 22:20

Lance Stroll out of tomorrows race as he needs surgery on his hand/wrist, guess they can't put a reserve driver in tomorrow as he did quali - but if he hasn't recovered for the next race then I guess its Felipe Drugovich.

Edited

Probably not, but i wish he could. If he manages to avoid it this year he's got a chance of getting a good seat next year, and getting out of that mess. Anyone contracted to RB or Red Bull is in a hiding to nothing while they insist on treating their drivers this way.
In all honesty he probably wouldn't stand a chance of an Aston Martin seat - as you say Stroll won't be going anywhere, Alonso won't be there too much longer as I'd imagine he will retire soon, and everyone will want to drive Neweys car, but it's something I wish I could see happen. Maybe in a few years time 🤞

Brazilianadventure · 31/05/2025 23:09

Disappointing for Lance as it seems he has been having wrist pain from his accident in 2023.

Isack has a contract for next year with RB, but he's basically earning nothing from them they're just covering his costs so I hope he has a couple sponsors paying him and hopefully that means he feels free to make the best choice for him after that. Lance went back very quickly after his surgery so maybe its caught up with him.

Wow, that sounds crazy. Surely they must be paying him.

Racing Bulls seems like a good level team for a rookie. Bortoleto doesn’t have a good enough car to show his talent most weeks and Antonelli on the other hand has a pretty good car but also huge amounts of pressure and probably unreasonable expectations from most people. Alpine is just toxic.

billysboy · 01/06/2025 08:50

It’s a pity Lance Stroll doesn’t throw in the towel under some excuse about his wrist

witte · 01/06/2025 09:01

Lance must have the skin of a rhino. Not one single driver thinks he deserves his place. He’s shameless

Piffle11 · 01/06/2025 09:13

Lance doesn’t even seem to be that into it anymore.

StarCourt · 01/06/2025 13:21

loving Bernie in pink

Wow Max deliberately crashing into George.

This is the problem with Max, he is an exceptional driver but he just doesn’t know where the limit is. It taints his legacy just like Michael tainted his legacy.

Well done Oscar and Lando. Charles did well.

Lewis still struggling.

Yay a point for Alonso.

Rosberg was right that Verstappen should have been black flagged, He is such a dirty and dangerous driver.

Piffle11 · 01/06/2025 16:00

Will be interesting to hear Horner defend that.

Agree. I don’t care how good he was, I can never overlook Schumacher’s bad behaviour. Max is the same. So unnecessary as they’re outstanding drivers, they have nothing to prove and yet they pull this shit.
