Happy New Year.

We start with the first all teams season launch on 18 February. Ferrari reveal their 2025 car the day after.

Pre season testing will take place on 26 to 28 February in Bahrain. Australia will host the opening race on Sunday March 16th.

Yuki's car looks very broken, I wonder if they can fix it overnight for a pit lane start tomorrow.

Brazilianadventure · 17/05/2025 16:53

Piastri did well with all that traffic in that corner. Max on form again and reliable George picking up a 3rd.

Ferrari’s both out in Q2, out performed by both the Williams and Astons - eek.

Q1 was messy all round, glad yuki is OK though, that looked rough!
Ferrari out in Q2 😭
Alonso 🥰 Adrian Newey really is a genius though. Can't wait to see what he can do with AM in 26!

purplespink · 17/05/2025 21:52

Ferrari are shocking right now!!

So glad with where Fernando ended up Grin

Imo Mercedes doesn’t have the pace for George to contend for first. Max is getting the absolute most out of the Red Bull but I’m backing Piastri for the win tomorrow!

midlandsmummy123 · 17/05/2025 22:17

Carlos felt he could have got a 1:15.0 if they hadn't taken the gamble of putting him out so late in Q3, that would have put him 5th and very close to Lando, I'm pleased for Carlos and for Williams that things are going in the right direction, would be absolutely amazing if James V and team can make them front runners again.

bluetongue · 18/05/2025 07:39

Will be interesting to see if there are any safety cars tomorrow. Also wondering how many cars might start on the hard tyre.

Brazilianadventure · 18/05/2025 13:46

Watching the warm up, interestingly the AM crew are all standing shielding the back of the AM. Clearly Adrian Newey is already be8ng creative.

I always get very nervous before the Imola start, I think it’s because of past incidents. Fingers crossed they all get through safely - although I can see Max or Oscar taking a trip through the gravel.

Impressed with Lando’s overtake.

Tyre/ pit stop will be very interesting with the mediums not lasting well.

Eyesopenwideawake · 18/05/2025 14:35

Stunning start by Max.

Brazilianadventure · 18/05/2025 14:48

I agree good start but he got lucky with the VSC.

F1LandoFan · 18/05/2025 14:52

Soooo frustrated with Norris’s luck on the VSC! But I suppose he has had his fair share of safety car luck in the past! Now we want a full safety car to squash that 20s lead!

Brazilianadventure · 18/05/2025 15:00

Hamilton on the move - if he got P4 that would be good.

Ouch no tyres for Charles.

Shame for kimi :(

Brazilianadventure · 18/05/2025 15:12

If I was Andrea I would tell Piastri to let Norris through.

Why no tyre change for Piastri? Shame for him and Leclerc :(

Definitely, and needs to be immediate to give him a chance to get past Max

Brazilianadventure · 18/05/2025 15:37

Well done Max , he won that at the start.
Really pleased for Lewis and Alex.

Didn't LeClerc use all his tyres? not sure about Piastri.

Yeah, leclerc had a disagreement with his team about tyres as he wanted to come in and l put softs on, didn’t hear why Piastri didn’t come in but he’s just explained he had no hard tires left

Brazilianadventure · 18/05/2025 15:54

Yes, Charles didn’t have any tyres left but given how long the safety car stayed out he could have gone to softs.

The problem is, if you don’t come in as soon as safety car starts, you lose the benefit of it as all the cars are then bunched up. You’d come back in the race and be at the back

I agree, Ferrari could have stacked them and gone with the softs for Charles. At the time it was a risky move, because no one knew how long the safety car was going to stay out. Given they were never going to win I think it was a risk they might have taken.

Just watched a short debrief with James V, he's happy they have a fast car, aren't having too many problems with tyre deg and thinks pitting Carlos early cost him a few places.

bluetongue · 19/05/2025 00:36

I’m sad because that’s the only Imola race I’ve ever seen and it’s gone after this year. Just loved the location and atmosphere (helps that I love Italy) and also loved that it punishes mistakes instead of having endless tarmac runoff areas.
