Such an entertaining race!
Totally bungled by McLaren and I really felt for Piastri as it really took the shine off his first win. Lando was clearly quicker in the final stint, and so it really was a gifted victory - on the other hand, if they'd pitted him first then there's a decent chance he'd have been able to hang on to win on merit. It was just a lose lose situation that they created, Lando was clearly resentful (no doubt not least that he's only had one victory and been in F1 for years, and this is Oscar's second season - it must make it a bitter pill to swallow to be technically level on wins.)
I thought Lando's response to Lewis in the cool down room was pretty awful and he really showed a lack of grace. And I noticed that although he did congratulate Piastri after the race, he seemed almost to deliberately avoid spraying him on the podium. It all felt very awkward.
I was entertained by Max on the radio. I do find it hilarious how short his memory is, with comments like "oh we just race by pushing people off now do we" when he's pretty much made a career out of doing that - and when he did the totally unrealistic divebomb on Lewis, when just a couple of weeks ago he was complaining about Lando dive bombing him at Austria and saying that's not how you should overtake. The fact that even GP was clearly sick of his behaviour says a lot I think. I'm glad he finished down the order a bit.
Unfortunately Red Bull have created this culture where Max is never made to take responsibility for issues he causes and allowed to get away with riding rough shod over the rules - and this is the consequence. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Max did jump ship to another team (like Merc) - would he be allowed to get away with behaving the way he does at RB?
