The London event will be televised.

Lewis will be in red 😃❤️

gingercat02 · 13/11/2024 08:13

I can't see Sulayem leaving before his term is up, he seems to have very little self awareness.
The GPDA statement was excellent 👏

LookItsMeAgain · 13/11/2024 12:40

Normally I would have a lot of time for what Karun Chandhook would say but he's actually come out saying that the statement by the GDPA wasn't focused on the real issues that the drivers have.
I mean if you can't speak freely, as you would normally do, that's a pretty basic issue that drivers would have, right? Also the doubling down on jewellery and cotton boxers/underpants are also pretty basic.
Once you sort out those issues, then you move on to the bigger ones.

Edited to add the link to the fines in the 2024 season

F1 drivers' letter to FIA slammed for missing 'serious issue' after outrage over Max Verstappen penalty

Sky F1 pundit and former driver Karun Chandhok has hit out against the GPDA following their open letter to the FIA.

A deal has been done to continue racing in Monaco until 2031.

Great.

I love the yachts, the racing is meh = a procession unless we get rain or a crash, preferably both.

Yeah, if someone offered me a choice of tickets to Monaco, I'd 100% choose qualifying rather than the race.

spottedinthewilds · 15/11/2024 11:48

So the tickets for the 02 sold out in seconds and are all now on re sale sites for up to 10 times their value.

It should be illegal.

Gutted 😞

Im sorry you didn’t get tickets. I didn’t even bother as it’s so bad these days.

With the technology available today they must be able to sell to genuine fans.

Tried to get tickets this morning. Dh was in two queues for about an hour.
I naturally assumed most of the tickets would go to corporate and sponsors.

It's race week!!!!!! Finally!!

Sulusu · 18/11/2024 11:27

Glad it's back. Going to enjoy the remaining weekends before the long winter break!

It's felt like a long break!

imworkinglatecosimasinger · 18/11/2024 14:11

Bring on the razzmatazz of Vegas! 😱😂

Brazilianadventure · 18/11/2024 17:57

It feels like we have a lot longer breaks this year. It’s going to be very early starts or late nights to watch live.

Whilst Max was a deserving winner in Brazil, it has pretty much ended the drivers championship barring DNFs. With 62 points difference and only 96 available (I think my maths is right 😂) it could just be Viva Las Vegas for Max.

Next year's schedule is out...

LookItsMeAgain · 18/11/2024 22:04

Ok so in an effort to cut back on the carbon footprint we go from Saudi Arabia to Miami and then back to Italy??
Then there is Spain to Canada and back to Austria???
Then there is Azerbajan and Singapore which is going eastwards around the globe and then a huge jump to USA?

How can that be cutting back on travel and back and forth across the globe??

MercedesLeftWheelNut · 19/11/2024 06:48

Lots of travel next year. I realise I'm probably in the minority but I personally think 24 races is too many and there are now too many back-to-backs. I preferred the season when it was about 18-20 races.

Brazilianadventure · 19/11/2024 07:18

I agree there are too many races. I think they should mandate each team has to have 2 sets of mechanics etc. to spread the load.

Sainz has done an interview where he admits he was hurt none of the big teams wanted him "because we all have egos"
Ber James Vowels and Williams are just loving that!

James V always comes across as a logical very straightforward guy, I think he’ll get that comment from Sainz.

Maybe the people that still think Williams are the best team still in the paddock won’t so much 😂

gingercat02 · 19/11/2024 08:09

I really like James, so yes, pragmatically, he will get it, and as a long-time Williams fan, I would love them back fighting for the championship, but sadly, that's a way off.

Brazilianadventure · 19/11/2024 10:02

I’ve said it on here before Sainz is a good driver, he is also strategic but he is not a Verstappen, Hamilton or Alonso at their prime.

He is at his prime and can win races and get results but it’s the ability to consistently drag results and score points out of not the best car on the grid that is the differentiator.

All teams, particularly the top ones, are looking for the next Verstappen, Hamilton, Alonso. RB have Verstappen and he could go on winning for years, they want to keep him happy and, unlike Lewis, Max doesn’t like having a team mate who will challenge him.

OP posts:
Brazilianadventure · 19/11/2024 10:26

I was watching the Brawn documentary and James V was part of the team that bolted on the Mercedes engine at the 11th hour and won. He is pragmatic and the change of regulations for 2026 is an opportunity he will grasp. Carlos may find he is nearer the front than he thinks.

The circuits have long term contracts for dates so it takes many years for a shuffle to reduce carbon footprint to occur they have been gradually working on this since 2018.
But agree the travel is shit, exhausting and totally fucks with their sleep.
