"Robinson posted a video on X in which he called for people to join him on the march. 'We're sick of two-tiered policing and justice system in our country,' he wrote. 'We demand the resignation of corrupt met commissioner Mark Rowley.' "

"Decked out in Stone Island, the 41-year-old was joined by actor Laurence Fox who told the crowd: 'I am proud to be British. The most important freedom of all is the freedom to speak our minds. We must protect our right to speak above all other rights.'
He also described the police as 'two-tier' and 'corrupt' who arrested protesters carrying UK flags.
'British lives with British values matter too', he said.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon and Laurence Fox are both nobheads but I’d there a reason you’ve posted this is CITME?

Possibly because it might remind Muslim posters that men like that have supporters and we aren't safe or welcome in some places.

keenforhelp · 01/06/2024 16:29

I posted this as it appears to be a counter protest against the Pro-Palestinian marches so related to CITME.

I certainly concur that these men are dangerous.

And I abhor their Islamophobic chants.

These men are dangerous racists. MOST MEN IN STONE ISLAND AND FOOTBALL SHIRTS ARE LOVELY FAMILY MEN! It is as bigoted to judge a man on his shirt brand as it is to judge someone for their religion and I am sick of my working class Stone Island wearing brothers and husband being sneered at by middle class nitwits in Hebden Bridge. Ooof I feel better for getting that off my chest.

Fair enough!

As a Jewish woman I was FUCKING FURIOUS that SYL (I’m using his real name because he tries to hide it) joined a March against antisemitism recently.

SYL doesn’t give a flying fuck about Jewish people. Much like he didn’t give a fuck about the Rochdale victims of child abuse. He just wants to stick it to the brown people, and Co-opts other people’s very painful and serious experiences/outcries to do so.

the real world consequences of his actions are very profound too

Yep. He's a horrible, horrible man who gives Stone Island shirts a bad name.

I’m loving the Stone Island defenders here, they do make a very good quality jumper! I had a lovely real Burberry scarf my Nan git me as a teenager, on the eve of it being a Chav symbol and I was so pissed off 🤣

RomanRoysSearchHistory · 01/06/2024 17:11

Another vote for Stone Island, lovely quality.

Yes, sorry. Didn't mean to derail. During the WOMEN'S EUROS a woman sneered "God look, football hooligans in Hebden Bridge" at DH, DS and 3x DB who were all in their England shirts and BEST STONE ISLAND CLOBBER to cheer on "our girls". How fucking dare she? There is so much judgement and bigotry and it let's people think an outfit is the man. NO - there are as many racists in suits first class cabins as in Footie tops/stone island/the pub. It makes me so agitated. Sorry!

newnamethanks · 01/06/2024 17:56

Shit in our rivers and scum on our streets. Don't care what they're wearing, more concerned with the workings of their tiny minds and their malicious doings. Yaxley Lennon is a thug supported by other thugs. Nothing else. Bothersome twerp.

Hear hear! Hate that kind of bigotry and there’s too much of it about. ( as well as all the other kinds of bigotry)

@CarlWorra Oh come on! The anti-Muslim racism was on full display and even kids of about 10 years old chanting along.

@CarlWorra who the fuck do you think you are coming on here demanding answers from Muslim women about their experiences of racism and Islamophobia?
SYL and his supporters are calculating, opportunist, racist scum.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 01/06/2024 20:20

Yaxley Lemon managed to cause a fight in the kids swimming pool at our local Centreparcs. You literally can’t take this moron anywhere.

@CarlWorra

If you feel that you and others around you respect Muslims, that's lovely. I wish more people respected others and treated others with decency.

Sadly, prejudice and even violence towards minority groups, including Muslims, is a significant problem across UK society. This ranges from the relatively harmless but still not nice (eg the nervous looks people give each other when they see me), all the way to physical violence and death threats. I have personally experienced this full range, as have many other Muslim women, and men.

There are geographic areas of England which I would avoid rather than take the risk. There are others where I would take the risk myself but not with my family. Without naming specific areas (because I'm sure many lovely people live there too), these are often firmly right-wing areas with strong support for Reform, UKIP, EDL, the right of the Conservatives, Farage, etc.

I do not feel respected or valued or safe in places where people spit at me in the street, or say they would rather discharge themselves from hospital rather than be treated by me.

Scirocco · 01/06/2024 20:48

I'm not familiar with the full details of English family law, but I would suspect a situation like the one in the previously posted scenario, of a convicted abuser being able to demand access to a child, is likely due to a legal loophole in which the abuser was deemed to have parental rights and a social work or court assessment didn't conclude "hang on, this guy's horrible, why are we letting him have access?" so access had to be facilitated. That's a horrible situation. I'm not sure how it's related to the OP though.
