I know it's only the Charity Shield, and we had a bit of luck, but I'll take our first win over Shitty for a few years.

I watched my other Scottish team (on TV) lose yesterday too so a great start to the season for my Scottish teams. 

I have to say it felt really odd seeing Declan Rice in an Arsenal shirt today but he seems to be enjoying himself there already.

He definitely seems to have jumped from a sinking ship with the lack of signings we've had.

What a way to win as well. I have to admit I was glad neither team was mine with it going to penalties.

And that's only the second penalty save I've ever seen Ramsdale make, after Monaco. Good time to start learning how to do it!

Is Kane leaving the day before the league starts peak Spursy?

I've taken Kane out of my fantasy team just in case. One minute they're reporting he's leaving then earlier they said he wasn't leaving but I always choose people that go off to Europe so he's out my team for now.

Good to see Hammers finally getting some signings! I've never been the biggest fan of Maguire but if he came to us and played well then I would definitely like him more.

Watched Rangers beat Servette in the pub yesterday and watching DH's team Hibs in the Europa Conference League qualifier tonight for him while he's at work.

I don't know if I ever mentioned it before but DH had the Hibs tartan for our wedding and I planned our whole colour scheme around the colours in that (green, purple and white). But what he didn't know was that my something blue was a Rangers tartan garter I was wearing for the whole day.

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue i think it might just be the most Spursy thing ever.

im debating on whether to take Maddison out my FPL now. Can’t see Richarlison putting away the service the way Kane should have.

I really like Paqueta and don't want him to leave just yet. We're certainly forcing some hard bargains with the money side of things though.

Well went to bed thinking Kane was staying, wake up to the news he's having a medical at Bayern. Love the man and wish him every success. Ball-ache for Ange though this late in the day.

Feeling very flat about this PL season, have felt like it all summer and during the back end of last season. Just can't seem to muster up any enthusiasm for it. Hopefully it will return as its a strange feeling.

In contrast I cannot wait to see Gills v Accy Stanley tomorrow, so proud of the teams dominant performance and well deserved victory against the Saints mid-week. And Neil Harris telling the fans not to bother turning up if we were expecting Gills to have the ball

It’s been a wild day in the premier league. The money that’s being thrown about for Caicedo is a madness, publicly turning Liverpool down after Klopp was forced to eat his words about players being valued at over 100 mill, preferring Stamford Bridge over Anfield. Paqueta, Kane 🤯

And that’s before we get to Haaland rebooting for Season 2 in the league after just 4 minutes.

I am so flipping happy the football is back!

Newcastle United

DS (13) attends games with us as ST holders. DD (19) not that bothered but if asked would say Newcastle is her team due to it being the only team in the house.

I think it’ll be another tight City vs Arsenal race for the premier league this season. I back Newcastle to get top 4 again though and I’d love it if we could push the top 2 a bit more. I think Wolves, Sheff Utd and possibly West Ham will be my tips to go down. I don’t see Chelsea and Spurs making miraculous recoveries from their poor seasons last time round but I guess you never know.

I can’t wait for it all to unfold!
