Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.

Enjoy the games everyone. DH and DS off to Fulham v Luton. My team don't play til tomorrow.

burblish · 16/09/2023 16:45

I honestly think there isn’t a manager around who can top Klopp when it comes to the art of tactically perfect substitutions. Liverpool do remind me a bit of Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle at the moment, though: forget defending and just have faith that your forwards will score for fun! Very entertaining to watch but hard on the nerves.

AndNobbyDancing · 16/09/2023 19:45

ten Hag first to go?

Oblomov23 · 16/09/2023 19:54

Oh my word. Painful most of the game, until the end. We were dancing and singing at the end.

Just caught up, frustrating to watch but the end was insane. Beyond happy for Richy.

Gills also won 2-1, all goals first half and our 2nd was an absolute screamer. Top of the league once again 💙

Tarkan · 16/09/2023 22:04

Arbroath won 4-0. Those last two goals were embarrassing for the Airdrie goalie. I liked West Ham's first half. Won fuck all at bingo bit i saw a lot of good friends today. I am very drunk. 🙈

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 16/09/2023 23:31

More VAR decisions than free kicks in the Newcastle game today but we got the win 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Brefugee · 17/09/2023 14:09

oh goodness, Sheffield Wednesday's campaign to get back to League 1 going perfectly.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/09/2023 18:30

Phew! Relieved to get that one.

Still think that offside call was ridiculous. Beto was obviously trying to block the ball, so how can it not be a deliberate action?

Xhakalaka · 17/09/2023 18:32

Omg I had to leave the room for the last five mins. Started well and can't understand the offside. At least we got the 3 points.

DuncinToffee · 17/09/2023 19:08

That was a bad match, neither team looked bothered really

Arsenal players do fall over easily

The offside call, it's one of those and they usually go against us

At least Saka earned me a few points on FPL, I didn't do well this week Grin

I was shocked to see my position as I didn't check it last match round. The last I checked I was second bottom and today i see I'm third LOL. I had used my double captain thing on Haaland for them playing Fulham I think it was and he got a hat-trick for that so I did well. DH didn't know those things are once a season and clicked one the first week and basically wasted it. 🙈

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 17/09/2023 23:00

I’ve not had a great week FPL wise. Chilwell was only on the pitch 10 minutes and picked up a yellow card. Absolute melon.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/09/2023 23:32

Not a great week for me either. Martinelli should have had a goal, and I hope he's not out for long.

Goonergirl14 · 18/09/2023 22:41

Sean Dyche moaning about the 4 mins injury time was amusing..talk about parking the bus! 😀

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 19/09/2023 09:04

After 20 long years it’s Champions League day!!!

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 19/09/2023 20:02

95 minutes of heart pumping Adrenalin. My Apple Watch asked me twice if I was ok as I was clearly sat on my arse and yet my heart rate was spiking over 120bpm 🤣

A great point away from home in our first UCL game in 20 years.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 19/09/2023 20:18

Only saw the end of it. It looked like Toon were getting a bit of an education, but a good result all the same.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 19/09/2023 20:35

Yeah I think we were lacking going forward but there was just no way through our defence. I’m not sure why but Isak has looked off it the last few games he has played. Something just hasn’t clicked for us yet this season but I have confidence it will come.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/09/2023 20:31

Oh FFS. BT is down so I can't access BT Sport or TNT Sport, and Discovery+ insists I need to pay twice. It's a fucking joke!

Tarkan · 20/09/2023 20:33

Oh it's been a time of it with that. Sky was down last night then apparently Virgin was down this morning. Are they all just taking turns?

GrandTheftWalrus · 20/09/2023 20:38

My sky TV keeps cutting out tonight but my Internet has been fine.

Better be okay tomorrow for rangers in the europa league

AndNobbyDancing · 20/09/2023 21:53

I've enjoyed this as a neutral.

Aside I thought Saints going down might have a small bonus as much easier to get tickets, but I wish I hadn't been able to get them.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/09/2023 22:46

Finally got the second half by going through my BT account, rather than Discovery+ as they tell you to, or TNT Sports, which is what it's called now, or even BT Sport, which just wouldn't let me log in. You couldn't make it up!

Anyway, good result, looked quite comfortable, nice to get a selection of scorers, and some useful minutes for the substitutes (and rest for key players).

Onward and upward...
