I'll take that today. Shame about the inevitable Kane penalty, but it would have been a travesty if we hadn't won that quite comfortably.

Liverpool dropping points as well, ♫"Top of the league, we're havin' a laugh"♫

Oblomov22 · 01/10/2022 23:06

Spurs were awful against Arsenal. We've got away with general poor play this season, but were truely exposed today.

AndNobbyDancing · 01/10/2022 23:29

Weren't they just Oblo bloody awful, and that Kane free kick, why do they let him taken them?

Only saw the Spurs game, listened to the rest in the car, shame about the Palace result.

Saints...well enough said. Well done dunc

Brefugee · 02/10/2022 08:02

oh gosh. My lot away to Werder Bremen yesterday (we were going to go then changed our minds). After their brilliance against Leipzig - they were absent and 3-0 down after 12 minutes. Lost 5-1. So glad i didn't make the effort

(but in one of those lovely footballing stories: Gladbach were drawn against a 7th tier club in the cup a few seasons ago, who have a good social media account. There was some great banter between the accounts, and with the fans, in the few weeks run up, including them ransoming our captain for a few crates of beer. There has been loose contact since then. So being up in that area, their social media have been using our hashtags to advertise their match today, and so far about 2,000 gladbach fans will go. Usual attendence? about 200 if that)

Sheffield Wednesday managed to beat (the mighty) Port Vale. So not an entirely wasted footballing weekend for me. Grin

Very happy with our win but we don't make it easy for ourselves.

Chelsea were very lucky that Silva only saw yellow, should have been red.

And what a goal from Almiron.

I didn't expect much from the NLD, would've taken a draw but our record away to Arsenal is shocking (2010 last win). One good thing to come of it is no Emerson Royal for 3 games!!

Get in the Gills though, 92nd winner against Sutton. Had 3 goals ruled offside in the first half and that was more than the 2 they'd scored this season so far.

Just seen this, incredibly sad Sad

Awful news from Indonesia.

Brilliant day for Newcastle and Miguel Almiron though.

The meme of Miggy and Bruno ‘FaceTiming Jack G didn’t half tickle me though. I bet Grealish rues the day he made that comment at the end of last season.

Brefugee · 02/10/2022 13:31

Terrible news from Indonesia.
What's the best thing to do if things like this happen? I was wondering today, and in my place, unless my actual stand was on fire, i think I'd try to get as far back as possible and wait for most people to leave.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/10/2022 15:38

Well this is very one sided.

AndNobbyDancing · 02/10/2022 15:41

Isn't it just. I'm hoping for another four, stop Bournemouth and Soton (x2) having the record.

AndNobbyDancing · 02/10/2022 16:43

6-3 wasn't such a shambles in the end, a few moments of promise, the reality is no one should expect UTD to be good just because of their history.

Fergie looked younger, bet he is glad to not have this stress.

I think that probably is the best thing to do

Only saw the end result of the Manchester derby and comments wowing Haaland. He is going to break Dixie Dean's record, isn't he.

Wolves have sacked Lage.

OP posts:
Brefugee · 02/10/2022 18:52

Haaland is a machine. I'm so glad we don't have to play against him any more.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 02/10/2022 20:43

Haaland utterly fascinated me. He’s a footballing android.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 02/10/2022 20:44

Fascinates* not fascinated.

burblish · 03/10/2022 11:01

Boro have sacked Chris Wilder after less than a year in the hot seat. Not quite Watford timing, admittedly, but managers are given such little time these days before their heads are on the block.

BitOutOfPractice · 03/10/2022 11:22

So, as your resident Wolves fan I'm feeling a bit disconsolate. I mean I think Lage had to go but where next for Wolves?

burblish · 03/10/2022 11:54

Re Haaland: he is unbelievable. I couldn’t understand those who speculated whether he would be able to hack it in the Premier League - to me, it was always obvious that he’d excel over here, especially with the kind of quality he has around him at Man City. An absolute monster of a striker!

burblish · 03/10/2022 11:56

@BitOutOfPractice It seems likely Wolves will look to a Portuguese manager again, given the make up of the team. I’ve seen a lot of speculation that they have Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon in their sights.

DuncinToffee · 03/10/2022 13:20

Troy Deeney was having quite a rant on MotD.
When we signed Coady on loan, lots of fans were wondering why Wolves were so happy to let him go and there were rumours of disagreements. It really seemed a strange one.

I'd like someone wit Prem experience now really, steady the ship!

burblish · 06/10/2022 12:11

@BitOutOfPractice It seems Julen Lopetegui is thought to be hot favourite now after being sacked by Sevilla. I totally get what you mean about wanting someone with Premier League experience, but Lopetegui has always impressed me as a coach. As a Wolves fan, though, who would you fancy in the role?
