Borehamwood were plucky but looked miles away from scoring! Nice gesture from Everton to fund their kit for the match.

Spurs went out to the better team, tactics all wrong and despite a strong line up were 2nd best to Middlesborough. The Riverside is a bit of a fortress I hear so won't be an easy game for Chelsea (I was disappointed Spurs went out however but am thankful they will be spared a 5th match against Chelsea).

AndNobbyDancing · 05/03/2022 22:59

The Norwich player meeting Erikson, Gary is right we need more of that

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 06/03/2022 17:36

Got the result against Watford, although more difficult that it should have been. Some great goals!

I'm in the unusual position of cheering on Shitty, so that we stay above ManUre...

AndNobbyDancing · 06/03/2022 17:57

We couldn't go as far to wanting Arsenal to win but we did want Watford to lose. Also supporting city so utd don't move up the table.

HannibalHeyes · 07/03/2022 10:00

Sky's coverage of Watford/Arsenal was appalling yesterday.

I didn't catch all of the build up, but what I saw was all about the Manc derby (and twitter suggests it was pretty much all about that). Then at half time it was all about the Manc derby. Then at the end there was no analysis, straight on to the Manc derby!

Nobody representing Watford or Arsenal on the pundit's table.

Tell me again that there's no bias...

DuncinToffee · 07/03/2022 10:23

I so recognise that Hannibal, muting Sky is the best thing to do but even then

On his 200th appearance....

WhiteHartLane · 08/03/2022 09:50

TBF to Pickford he was only at fault for the 2nd goal. Lampard's tactics surprised me - Tottenham play well when pressed, it's when teams sit in they struggle (and invariably lose) so I assumed Everton would have set up how they did against Man City. They started well but capitulated so easily after the own goal.

Even so I think Everton will stay up - Norwich are all but gone (yay) and I think the other 2 places will go to Watford/Burnley/Leeds.

Spurs for 4th? Maybe if they hit a run of consistent good form and if Arsenal fall away. 5th/6th is more realistic.

DuncinToffee · 08/03/2022 10:03

Thanks WHL, there really is no need for having a go at Pickford, he has been outstanding and has matured a lot but there seems to be an agenda against him.

I actually turned the game off after the third goal.

Spurs are such a odd side! Beat City..lose to Burnley and do yesterday.

I think maybe Frank wasn't the best person to come and try turn things around. From a outside view Rafa was doing the best he could. Not much has changed really.

Guess advance is 2 games in hand..Norwich are gone it's just the other 2 places. Be surprised to see them go though think just hang on..

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 10/03/2022 19:43

A spot of bother coming for Chelsea...

burblish · 12/03/2022 12:54

Watching Brighton v Liverpool - how did Sanchez not even get booked for absolutely smashing Diaz?! VAR didn’t even ask Mike Dean to look at it again. I simply don’t understand it.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 12/03/2022 14:05

Well, he doesn't play for Arsenal...

DuncinToffee · 12/03/2022 14:17

The most frustrating is that referees can use the monitor without having to be prompted, I mean if you are unsure of what happened why not just have a look.

Every flipping week!

Blimey scored a late goal that wasn't offside or a penalty

Ha!
YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/03/2022 01:07

On another note - how fucking good is Ødegaard!

He's just getting better and better. His awareness and passing is extraordinary. He's like a supercharged Bergkamp! He just needs to add more goal threat.

We sold Willock for £25m and got him for £30m!

burblish · 14/03/2022 22:16

Bravo Palace - to take 4 points from Man City this season is quite incredible and this Liverpool fan heartily thanks you for it!

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue - bloody typical that Arsenal finally sort themselves out in time to play Liverpool, of course! Should be an exciting match.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/03/2022 22:18

To be honest, I still think Liverpool are too strong for us, but I'd like to see us make a match of it.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/03/2022 08:39

As I expected, Liverpool's experience was too much for us. They mass-marked Ødegaard out of the game, and despite some brilliance from Martinelli, we couldn't make it count.

At least we went toe to toe, and were the better team for parts of the match.

burblish · 17/03/2022 09:47

I have to admit that Arteta has impressed me. The club kept faith in him after the utterly disastrous start to the season where he looked totally out of his depth, and it is really paying off now. It feels as though he has been patiently building the foundation of something with a lot of potential, with an exciting crop of young players (esp Odegaard and Martinelli) who will only get better in years to come. The Aubameyang situation also showed Arteta has steel and conviction. It’s also refreshing these days to see a big club that appears to be willing to give a manager time to build rather than reacting in the short term. (Liverpool and Klopp are a perfect example of that.)

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/03/2022 12:14

I admit I had a few doubts about Arteta, but I did support giving him time. He obviously impressed the management with his vision, and credit to the Kroenkes (not something I thought I'd be saying) they've backed him recently, and now we can all see what he's trying to do. The future looks promising.

I definitely think the ManUre board could do with planning a little better.

DuncinToffee · 18/03/2022 07:51

Was at a birthday party last night, checked the score when I left only to see that Iwobi scored a 99th minute winner Grin

A lot of anger about VAR on the forums.
