Is it now Lampey time instead of Fergie time?

DuncinToffee · 18/03/2022 08:55

I don't think Fergie ever needed a protester tied to the goalpost for that Wink

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 18/03/2022 09:03

Fergie would have been tying people to goal posts...

burblish · 18/03/2022 10:50

Nooooo - Trent Alexander-Arnold is out for “several weeks” with a hamstring injury Sad The only position on the pitch where we don’t have a quality back up. I adore James Milner and like Joe Gomez, too, but neither of them can stand in for Trent in the way that Kostas Tsimikas, for example, can deputise for Andy Robertson. GAH! Praying he will be back for the City game on 10 April.

burblish · 18/03/2022 10:56

Great work by Rangers, Leicester and West Ham last night (so perfect that it was Yarmolenko who scored the deciding goal). Such a shame that the focus will again be on VAR after Everton v Newcastle, but such an important result for the Toffees.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 18/03/2022 12:18

So Martinelli gave Trent such a run around that he did his hamstring?

DuncinToffee · 18/03/2022 18:45

Well Allan's red card has been upheld so he will miss 3 matches and Attwell is our ref on Sunday.
I do start to wonder if it's corruption rather than incompetence Wink

This new trend of people handcuffing themselves or trying to handcuff themselves to the goal post is interesting

burblish · 20/03/2022 13:53

A very thoughtful and touching act by Forest to cover 97 seats with a banner commemorating Hillsborough. Flowers

DuncinToffee · 20/03/2022 14:23

Class from Forest!

Well that is us out of the cup, expected it with a half fit team and Townsend's injury. Good luck Eagles.

Since when did the celebration police become a thing?

Anyway, the first reply is brilliant here...

DuncinToffee · 20/03/2022 15:17

Talk sport, that's your answer.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/03/2022 19:24

Very true.

But it's always fun when the hypocrisy get's demonstrated so clearly!

And it's fun for us gooners to see all the pundits who were laughing at us after the first 3 games coughing and spluttering about us now...

DuncinToffee · 20/03/2022 19:35

Oh I know exactly what you mean Grin

HannibalHeyes · 20/03/2022 19:55
Grin
WhiteHartLane · 20/03/2022 20:46

Very happy Spurs managed to win 2 games on the bounce Grin - spoilt by another idiot protester though.
Am even happier that Gillingham are out of the bottom 4 for the first time since November. Still a way to go but Neil Harris is working wonders and the team are much better organised. Just a shame the club didn't appoint him sooner.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 23/03/2022 12:15

So, potential new owners of Chelsea are accused of having racist views?

When the jokes just write themselves...

burblish · 24/03/2022 22:02

All hail Gareth Bale! I’ve rarely seen a player so passionate about playing for his country. I only wish Wales, Scotland and Ukraine could all get through to the World Cup instead of just one of them. What a shocker that Italy won’t be there, though - losing at home in injury time to North Macedonia must be one of the biggest international upsets ever! (And the least said about Russia bidding to host Euro 28, the better.)

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 27/03/2022 17:31

Never a fan of Bareth Gale, he did play for Sp*rs after all, but he does seem to come alive when playing for Cymru.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 30/03/2022 20:21

Bellingham looked very good last night. Don't think Southgate can leave him out in competition.

burblish · 30/03/2022 22:07

Yes, Bellingham was great! I agree with Southgate that the booing of Maguire wasn’t right; his justification for picking him jarred though. He is always saying he picks/drops players based on their club form (look at his treatment of Trent Alexander-Arnold) but now says he will pick players who have a history of performing well for England even if their club form is crap. So which is it?

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 30/03/2022 22:57

Agreed. I think he's just making excuses for picking whomever he wants to.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 30/03/2022 22:58

And I know that any miss is still only a miss, but if Martinelli had scored this one on his second appearance for Brazil, it would have been quite special.

DuncinToffee · 31/03/2022 13:31

I will never understand why national team managers(not just England ones) select players who either have been or are still injured for most of the season or have hardly played for their teams. So many players to choose from but I guess from the 'wrong' clubs.

USA, Iran and Scotland/Wales/Ukraine, not a bad draw.
