Football is back and so are the fans ⚽

As in previous years, footy fans please sign in with

  1. Which team you support.
  2. Which team(s) you loathe.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/Any leagues world wide)

Well done Burnley.

Dunc ummmm

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2022 16:38

I expected it, Lampard needs more than 1 week and the injuries didn't help but yes we are in trouble.

What is it with Arsenal and red cards? (Admittedly, yesterday’s was a bit bizarre, mind!)

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 12/02/2022 11:36

As a Gooner, it's hard to see it as anything other than deliberate.

You would expect something like Thursday's incident from Mike Dean, as he loves making it all about him. And he hates Arsenal.

Yes, they were stupid challenges, but you've got to deliberately want to give a red card in that instance, as nobody would have batted an eye if he'd just given Gabi a yellow.

In fact, as was pointed out on twatter, the first challenge meant that it was actually a foul throw, so play should have been stopped meaning that the second one doesn't happen...

And, as I'm late to this thread;

  1. Arsenal, through and through
  2. Sp*rs, obviously. Not too keen on an of the more, shall we say, agricultural teams
  3. I've managed to keep him in the light! One of his schoolfriends even changed from supporting Arsenal to supporting Sp*rs, because there's a good few in his year who do. Poor kids, lifetime of misery incoming.
  4. I will be deliriously happy if we get 4th this season. I think we can, but we need a bit more consistency, and, indeed, goals.
DuncinToffee · 12/02/2022 17:56

Now that is better, Goodison rocking, players responding and a very enjoyable win.

OP posts:
AndNobbyDancing · 12/02/2022 19:09

Yes, a big difference.

So who is going down? Watford cheating scum Burnley (sad love Sean) and Norwich probably but would prefer someone else.

Anyone watching Chelsea in club World Cup? Feels very grobbelaar.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 12/02/2022 19:53

That was a bit painful to watch.. but got there in the end..hurrah!!!! Won it!

DuncinToffee · 13/02/2022 19:05

I don't understand why Moyes thought it would be a good idea to name Zouma in his starting 11.

OP posts:
WhiteHartLane · 13/02/2022 21:00

I don't know how Moyes and his team mates can bear to be near him tbh - his poor little cats Sad

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/02/2022 00:43

That's something we can all agree on!

burblish · 17/02/2022 20:12

Great result for Rangers tonight against Borussia Dortmund. I was also pleased with the resilience Liverpool showed against Inter - less pleased with how good City looked against Sporting Lisbon, mind! Grin

givemeallthecheese · 18/02/2022 11:03

Wonder if many matches will be cancelled this wkend

You've got Blackpool meant to travel to Cardiff and Boro to Bristol for their games tomo for example

DuncinToffee · 18/02/2022 16:47

Bournemouth Forest tonight has been cancelled and a few league ones for tomorrow.
Forecast seems ok.

OP posts:
AndNobbyDancing · 18/02/2022 19:22

Rangers were ace.

Bournemouth game was a poor call imo, red warning was announced early hours of this morning but they waited until four hours before KO to cancel despite the red warning lifting at 3pm, and apparently Bournemouth is calm now. (Have a very cross friend that travelled down for it)

WhiteHartLane · 19/02/2022 10:52

I'm off to see Gillingham v Plymouth later, my first time watching them with Neil Harris at the helm. Team fighting relegation v team chasing promotion - should have all the makings for a good entertaining game!

Will be home in time to (probably) cringe my way through Man City Spurs Grin

burblish · 19/02/2022 19:41

@WhiteHartLane - wow, what a match that was - Spurs were excellent and thoroughly deserved the win! Sorry that Gillingham didn’t produce today, but I hope it was an entertaining match notwithstanding the disappointing result for the home side.

Thanks @burblish - after fearing the worst earlier Spurs came good. I thought they managed the game well and didn't allow themselves to be intimidated by City. Conte's smile at the end was a joy to see. Keeps the title race exciting.

Sadly the Gillingham game was anything but entertaining - no shots on target from the home side and overall a very poor performance. Luckily the teams around us performed badly too so haven't lost ground. Wimbledon Tuesday is a must win though.

Oblomov22 · 20/02/2022 09:38

That Man City v Spurs game was the most exciting thing I've watched for ages, since Moura hatrick against Ajax.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 23/02/2022 09:10

Jesus wept! I've just seen some of the fouls McTominay made against Leeds, for a measly single yellow card.

Compare that with Martinelli and tell me everything is consistent...

AndNobbyDancing · 23/02/2022 22:25

United were poor tonight.

Well done Burnley and Palace, as you know I have love affair for Hodgson but loves not blind enough to support cheating Watford.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 25/02/2022 21:46

Good result against Wolves last night. Well worth a celebration. They're a bloody awkward team to play against.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 26/02/2022 20:39

I dont get the penalty/handball/VAR anymore..

DuncinToffee · 26/02/2022 21:04

Me neither Angry
We deserved a point today and it seems only 2 people (ref and var ref) didn't think that was a penalty.
