This morning it’s bigger and a bit redder around the edge. Think the compressors are drawing it to surface

Have you thought any more about getting a HCP to cast their eye over it?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/10/2022 13:14

Hot compresses are really underated, keep going and keep using Savlon or whatever on it too. It good to use the cream and keep it covered too as it keeps it soft and easier to burst/leak.

I would. My poor mum had one and it needed surgical draining and special packing to stop it from coming back.

girlmom21 · 17/10/2022 14:39

Pop to a pharmacist if you don't want to bother your GP surgery

Latest photos I mean. We need photo updates as well as all the gory details otherwise it's just not acceptable to post here😁

Ah I suspect it might be the hair then.. you would probably find if you tweezer out the hair, it bursts it
Mine are still sore, I've used a zinc wash tonight to try and help

familyissues12345 · 17/10/2022 22:10

Wow that looks excruciating. I suffer from pilonidal sinuses so you have my sympathy!

I wouldn't leave it much longer before getting someone to take a look

Muchtoomuchtodo · 17/10/2022 22:21

Can you pluck the hair out?

Take painkillers half an hour before you try, and if you can bear it give it a gentle, wide squeeze at the base as the hair comes out. All being well the contents will follow.

Whack a load of antiseptic cream on afterwards xx

AlternativelyWired · 17/10/2022 22:36

Ooooh lovely! It's gonna blow! Get the hair.

endofthelinefinally · 17/10/2022 22:41

Magnesium sulphate poultice. Leave it on for a couple of hours. Really good for drawing the hair out.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/10/2022 22:57

Keep going with the baths and hot compresses and excellent photo update!

CrotchetyQuaver · 17/10/2022 22:59

That's an abscess. That needs draining properly by someone who knows what they're doing, special dressings and you probably need antibiotics. That's a 111 job or minor injuries unit if your GP won't see you quickly.

OrlandointheWilderness · 18/10/2022 07:00

GP. That's the sort of thing they are there for, but it does need seeing.

longcovidquestions · 18/10/2022 08:19

Msg sulphate. Good luck OP!

Notimetothink · 18/10/2022 08:22

I would be taking a needle to that! Once the pressure is gone it will feel so much better.

DeeofDenmark · 18/10/2022 11:16

Please tell us you are not replying today as you are sat in a waiting room somewhere 😩

Wtafis · 18/10/2022 14:51
