What to do about verruca 'root' still attached!

Name changed for this as my first sporner corner!

I've had this little verruca for 7 years now and I'm desperate to get rid of the thing. It's not got any bigger I think due to weekly trims but now suddenly I was able to pull at it and most of it has come away from the sides, leaving a little hole! When I pull it taut I can see a little pale rubbery stalk, the bottom of it still firmly fixed in the ball of my foot.

I feel like this could be it! What now??

No chemicals as I'm breastfeeding.

Do I grit my teeth and yank? Needle? Nail scissors? It bleeds if I mess with it.

No one? I really am wanting to get rid of it!!!

I’d yank it out with tweezers provided it didn’t hurt too much.

Creepymanonagoatfarm · 18/09/2022 13:38

As a teen I hacked mine out with a compass..

BackT · 18/09/2022 13:41

It'll hurt like hell but I'd pull it out.
Y
Either that or cut through it.

HandbagAtDawn · 18/09/2022 13:42

OMG that's amazing.

My mum hacked mine out with nail clippers 🤣

tickticksnooze · 18/09/2022 13:43

Verrucas don't have roots.

OldTinHat · 18/09/2022 13:44

It'll hurt like buggery but grit your teeth and yank hard and fast!!

Great pics!

Antarcticant · 18/09/2022 13:44

Shameless place mark.

Verrucas don't have roots.

I assume that's why OP said 'root'.

I'd just grit my teeth and yank it out.

Oblomov22 · 18/09/2022 13:58

What do veruccas have if they don't have roots?

CallingElfRescue · 18/09/2022 13:59

I had this once! Bled like mad and hurt like hell but saw it off once and for all!

verucacacaca · 18/09/2022 14:47

@tickticksnooze I know they don't technically but that's what it looks like. A rubbery stalk...

OP posts:
verucacacaca · 18/09/2022 14:47

This is the thing @CallingElfRescue I want it gone. I don't want to leave any behind and the bloody thing grow back

Update!

I pulled it out but I'm not sure I got it all. Had a good dig round with a needle and tweezers after through all the blood so hopefully if nothing else my immune system will kick in and do the rest!

Hopefully now I can have a pedicure! Been not wanting to have one for 7 years due to the potential of spreading the little sod!

Such a satisfying thread 😃

Antarcticant · 18/09/2022 15:13

You must update in a couple of weeks, OP, to tell us whether it's gone for good.

verucacacaca · 18/09/2022 15:14

@Antarcticant I certainly will! Hopefully with much smoother hooves!

verucacacaca · 18/09/2022 15:15

It's throbbing away now. Not sure if that's bad or good!

Bobbybobbins · 18/09/2022 15:37

Good job OP! 👏 When my DS was 2, he chewed one off the side of his foot before we managed to treat it 🤢

Verrucas don't have roots.

Of course they do.

verucacacaca · 18/09/2022 19:34

Here's the latest progress... looks like a decent hole. Hope I got it all!

I'm more invested in this than I thought Smile

Throbbing should induce an immune reaction, so that's good.

Soubriquet · 18/09/2022 19:49

Oh dear god that made me cringe.

That’s not sporn. That’s pure eurgh
