My adult DD has just birthed removed a navel stone and it's the grimmest thing!! It's like an egg made of waxy stuff, full of hair! Shock
There has been much screaming/squealing from both of us Grin
Is there some kind of Sporners trophy we can win??

I've a very deep belly button but never had anything like this . Feel a bit jealous in a way

Angryattrackandtrace · 09/09/2021 22:46

I was horrified and delighted in equal measure. And then mortified I may have one growing in my deep belly button (even through I regularly am obsessed with getting soap in there to the stage I give myself some kind of belly button thrush!) so I was relieved to find I in fact had nothing in there at all!!!

Hands up who had a check of their belly buttons after reading this ? Grin

I'm sorry bit how does someone not notice something like that! It must have been growing for years! 🤮

ProperHurl · 09/09/2021 22:49

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow

that's a squashed spider surely??

Set up home and rudely evicted with your best tweezers!

It's a good job it wasn't, I'd have had to set light to her. That's my CHILD ShockGrin

Eek I have a deep belly button, I can’t even see the bottom of it and sometimes it can get smelly, now I’m terrified I might spawn one of these!

By having a very deep bellybutton due to a small abnormality at birth, combined with a sort of anxiety about looking or feeling inside it. She did really well to deal with this by herself today (with only me squealing in delight/horror) and I'm proud of her Grin

Yeah that’s kinda gross 🤢

Angryattrackandtrace · 09/09/2021 22:52

Ive just come back to look at it again. Guess I’m more delighted than horrified after all 😂😂

NChelpforDH2021 · 09/09/2021 22:52

I have so many questions, I’ve never see. Or heard of these before. How do you even get one of these, is it because it’s deep she couldn’t wash it properly? How did she know it was there?

I feel a bit funny after seeing it, like someone else said, equal pets disgusted and fascinated

She discovered it just yesterday when she was getting changed and noticed dried blood around the outside of her bellybutton.

I can see how it happens. Some people are squeamish about belly buttons, mine is really deep. If I use my finger as measurement it's past my first knuckle and I have to be careful to wash and dry it or I get an itchy sore rash

SingleHandSue · 09/09/2021 23:06

@CovidCorvid

I used to get these when I was a kid and would dig them out, haven't had one for over 30 years but they were properly attached and painful to get out.
Same here! I’d forgotten that feeling until you mentioned it 🤮

I don’t get them anymore cos I got fat and my belly button got squished back up

ProperHurl · 09/09/2021 23:08

Yes @NotMyCat , squeamish and very deep is exactly it.
You can't properly wash something when there's a growth in there that you don't know exists, either. You sit in the bath and think you've washed it but there's a blockage you don't know is there. It doesn't wash out because it's attached (presumably, until today!)
But now it's gone and maybe this experience will help with her squeamishness and she'll be able to keep it clean a lot better.

HemanOrSheRa · 09/09/2021 23:10

She's binned it now, sorry (after saving it to revolt my DH with when he got home!) but she gave it a squeeze and said it felt squishy. It looked full of hair

Oooh squishy. Lovely Grin.

Lessthanaballpark · 09/09/2021 23:10

I feel jealous. I want one

Xiomara22 · 09/09/2021 23:11

Omg I didn’t realise there was a name for them! I had one a few years ago that I pulled out and just thought it was left over from when my umbilical cord fell off as a baby 😂😂😂 don’t remember it being hairy though 😂

Literally had my finger in my belly button when I read your comment Grin

Op, are you sure she wasn't originally a twin?

daisyjgrey · 09/09/2021 23:15

That's enough internet for me today.

ProperHurl · 09/09/2021 23:23

@Rumcocktail we actually did wonder aloud if she was birthing her own twin that she'd eaten while in my womb Grin
I'm so glad there weren't any TEETH in there!!!

JollyHostess · 09/09/2021 23:23

Apparently it's called an umbolith!

This has been delightfully disgusting 😂

Goldenhedgehogs · 09/09/2021 23:23

Magnificent, made me dig in my own belly button AND go back and look at the photos twice. I am seeing my friend I haven't seen for twenty months on Sat, this photo will be one of the first things I show her. Never mind my kids growing up. She will love it!! Thank you

Dreamstate · 09/09/2021 23:25

Well that's a new one to me. However after far too many rounds of tonsilitus I now get tonsil stones and its yuk when they come loose and fall into your mouth! And you spit it out and it absolutely stinks!

JollyHostess · 09/09/2021 23:26

Do not Google, they look like cockroaches.

ProperHurl · 09/09/2021 23:26

I am equal parts revolted, delighted and proud!

@Goldenhedgehogs Hope your friend enjoys it as much as you! Grin
