Where can I get a large blackhead removed in London?

As the title says really. And yes, I have Googled it, however the results all consist of blackhead removal videos - satisfying but unhelpful. Or oddly, clinics in America.

I've discovered a very large blackhead behind my ear (will try to get a photo but even being able to see it in a mirror requires two hands so I'm not sure I can). It's in a really difficult place to get at which is why I've only just noticed it!

I daren't try and tackle it myself, quite apart from the fact I'd need a couple more limbs it also doesn't seem to have an obvious head, so I'm really hoping someone might be able to recommend a clinic which can deal with this for me?

I shall try to get a photo!

I don't know about London, but if you can make it to Belfast, then my house. 😁

Have you tried your GP surgery? They may be able to help and video the removal too

Lockheart · 01/07/2021 09:54

With apologies for the poor quality but it's really not easy for one person to get at. You can see how much I'm having to pull my ear out!

I did wonder about my GP but it's not causing me any discomfort (I noticed the lump when taking off earrings) so I don't really want to bother them when they're already snowed under!

Alas I think I'm stuck in London for the foreseeable! I also love your username.

Could you locate it by touch and then use of those removal tools?

TerribleCustomerCervix · 01/07/2021 10:07

Maybe worth calling your GP first- it would probably make their day to tackle something like this! Worth a try anyway, rather than finding a private dermatologist or something.

SprayedWithDettol · 01/07/2021 10:10

A private dermatologist could sort that.

linerforlife · 01/07/2021 10:11

That looks incredible 😍

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/07/2021 10:11

Omg!! Hot flannel compress at least 3x a day and blob of Savlon cream overnight for a week then have a good prod with super clean hands...and show us the results!!!!!

LunaTheCat · 01/07/2021 10:13

Go and see your GP - get a proper diagnosis before attacking yourself!
Any pigmented lesion needs checking.

Purplewithred · 01/07/2021 10:16

I very rarely say this but I'm also thinking get it checked first unless you are absolutely 100000% sure it's a blackhead. Maybe show a pharmacist?

Ninkanink · 01/07/2021 10:18

I would get that checked out before trying to tackle it yourself as pp have said - just to be on the safe side.

Lockheart · 01/07/2021 10:18

I'm not planning on tackling it myself - after I've finished holding my ear with one hand and another hand holding the second mirror I don't have any hands free to have a go at it anyway!

I didn't want to bother the GP and I'm fairly certain it is 'just' a large blackhead, but you're right it's worth checking out before asking someone to get in there with a scalpel or some other torture device.

I'll do it!

Lockheart · 01/07/2021 10:20

The photo isn't the best, but I am confident it's a blackhead from what I can see. Still, I'm not a medical professional so yes you're right, doctor first.

Can you buy a black head strip and just apply that and pull

Kona84 · 01/07/2021 10:31

Personally I do stuff like this blindly and just with touch.

Mamamamasaurus · 01/07/2021 10:32

If you're headed up north, I'm your MNter. I have tools too.

That is a thing of beauty 😍

Schrutesbeets · 01/07/2021 10:33

Dermatologist?

Oldraver · 01/07/2021 10:54

I've been watching Dr Khaled Sadek on YouTube

He has a clinic in London

Me too, that is ready to pop!

Mumdiva99 · 01/07/2021 11:05

I am closest in Milton Keynes - and I have a set of tools ready to go. i'll even give you a cup of coffee or tea after!

If you don't fancy the train ride what about a SKN clinic there are lots in london.

beigebrownblue · 01/07/2021 11:08

Are you sure it is a blackhead.
I would do a visit to G.P
Don't wish to scare you but my dad had something in the same place and it was the Big C. I wouldn't take any chances personally.

Northernsoullover · 01/07/2021 11:11

I did somehow manage to squeeze a blackhead in the same location. It had been there years, I thought it was just a lump. It started black, then went orange and eventually white (the contents). It was truly astounding. Sadly it never came back.
