oh wow it was gross I have got bacterial tonsilitis and havent been able to breath through my nose and felt something at the back of my nose/throat that I couldn't get it up. Well I just sniffed coughed and almost choked on it Its like phlegm but all almost looks tissue like ....but yay I can breath again.
Is tissue/phlegm too far for sporner corner?

WinterRose92 · 18/06/2018 20:52

Oooh, that's gross! I'm impressed! Did it hurt?

MrsMotherHen · 18/06/2018 20:55

It didn't hurt but I did almost die choking on it as it flew up. Cant belive that was blocking half my airways I could only breathe through my mouth since Saturday! My DS3 was horrified at it 😀

That's truly gross 🦑. Well
Done!

YourHandInMyHand · 18/06/2018 20:59

I suffer with my tonsils too and hack these up. I find them hugely fascinating, the texture and shape of them. Octopus or brain tissue or somewhere in between!

Ancientmummyofwooooos · 18/06/2018 21:00

Im still coughing up lumps like that nearly a year after surgery for an addenoidal tumour, turbinate trimming, sinus drainage drilling and swilling and cartillage shaving. looks mucous-y but feels like part of you- but wow, your's is huge! Bet that feels loads better!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 18/06/2018 21:02

Baby octopus was my first thought!

WinterRose92 · 18/06/2018 21:25

MrsMotherHen I would freak out if that came up! But at least you're feeling better 😁

DioneTheDiabolist · 18/06/2018 21:32

That is truly impressive OP. I'm glad you got to poke it with a stick for a while.Grin

LadyOfTheCanyon · 19/06/2018 07:45

Welcome to the Sporner fold, OP

RussellTheLoveMuscle · 19/06/2018 17:13

That's a lung right there!

MrsMoastyToasty · 19/06/2018 19:28

You have graduated from the Academy of Sporn - with honours.

Calmisthemantra · 19/06/2018 20:58

I get these after tonsillitis or sinusitis. The relief when it finally shifts is amazing and I always feel loads better. Think it was a sinus plug or similar

Mondaygap · 19/06/2018 21:15

Wow.

OldHag1 · 19/06/2018 21:37

You need a name change... MrsMotherOfSquid or something....

AfterSchoolWorry · 19/06/2018 21:40

Could be a fungus ball!

Oh yes. AN ACTUAL FUNGUS BALL! Shock

MrsMotherHen · 20/06/2018 07:22

I like that name I might have a change later ....I coughed another one up last night it wasnt nearly as impressive so didnt take a pic but did get some relief after it.

This happens to me! Not very often.

I have a theory. I think it's a kind of internal scab. Some times I kind of sniff hard as one will pop back into my throat. A couple of times I could make out feint blood vessels.

Either that or part of your adenoids.

ErrmWTAF · 21/06/2018 12:23

Wow, OP, where's the rest of your lungs? Grin

FatCow2018 · 21/06/2018 19:59

Wow 😍

Guiltypleasures001 · 21/06/2018 20:01

Sort of chunky and chewy 🤧

Pinetree1 · 18/06/2021 16:57

My 11 year old has Tonsillitis/ Strep Throat & while expelling phlegm, he coughed up something unlike I’ve ever seen ( until reading this thread) . I’ve had Tonsillitis when I was a kid and never do I remember coughing anything remotely like what I seen. I showed the doctor, who seemed unconcerned. It was only when I found your post ( and the picture ) and compared, that I noticed it had similar characteristics as yours. Does this happen often when you get tonsillitis? @MrsMotherHen

Seeingadistance · 18/06/2021 23:20

Oh, zombie thread, but wow! Still impressive even after all this time!

16purplecolour16 · 19/06/2021 22:51

The satisfaction of these threads is the immense relief of the spontaneous expulsion of said materials. Like the last full nose blow of a cold where your ears clear and the relief from the pressure. Pure bliss.
