Where the scab bit is there's now a hole in my toe. Anti biotics did nothing. The pharmacists gave random creams as they thought my socks may be rubbing. A foot person trimmed my toe nail which caused all hell to break lose.

Looks like an abscess to me. GP should give antibiotics.

Seconding Rosa as it is getting to the stage when it is going to impact on your general health and if the bone gets infected you are in for the long haul.

Do you have diabetes or are you taking hydroxy urea for some reason? It looks like the type of ulcers that don't heal in people with diabetes and/or taking hydroxy urea. Have they taken samples to figure out what type of bacteria are there or are they just giving you random antibiotics. Have you seen an infectious disease specialist?

I'm on IV abx at the moment from the other night. It gets worse than that. I've had abx before and they didn't nothing, a nurse said last year that it was nothing and I was fine, the pharmacist thought it was my socks rubbing on my toe, gave me various stuff, then I saw the people who are master toe nail cutters. He thought the lump was arthritis. I've got pre diabetes.

Waiting on consultant to see what to do about lump behind my toe. But running a fever, generally unwell. So it's being sorted now.

Just to warn you the photos from about 9 months ago are pretty grim. But a sporners dream lol.

It's not that bad, the stuff that came out the top of my toe didn't smell, only the stuff from the right side nail bed. That's been driving people crazy so stuck natural oils like lavender & patchouli on my sock. In the hopes it would be that bad.

How I've got this far without it spreading or getting sepsis is some form of miracle.

The infection is deep in my toe. Now I have this extra lump thing that started off as a 1cm lump on the left side of my inner toe near the base. Now it's over 40mm from the left side to the right.

It really has been a sporners dream, the next photos I'll post, you literally had to just catch the dry skin it came out, I'd have to press like a pocket that formed in my toe, more & more would come out.

I feel guilty now for not recording it, I didn't know sporning was a thing.

Even though I'm not well I hate going to the Dr's. But I agree 12 months plus of this it needed sorting.

Nails can be like that, for pockets of gunk. I had one down the side of a nail, I'd lift the skin away and it would ooze. Not for a year, though! I hope they work out what it is and get it sorted. It must be uncomfortable to fit in shoes!

It looks exactly like the ulcers that don't heal in people with diabetes. The color & puffiness of both your feet complete the look. The smell is necrosis.

You won't want to hear this but a relative who had all of the above, diabetes, swollen feet of this color, big toe exactly like this that didn't heal, and the terrible rotting smell ended up having his big toe amputated.

My dad lost a toe too, also Diabetic (undiagnosed at that time). His went from nothing to crisis in days though. Glad you're being seen to.

Sorry for the delay, something about these places makes me extra sleepy. I'm quite shocked that it developed like it did, it was mostly down to saying to nurses ouch my toe & them not really being fussed.

I've had it so long that apart from pain, I don't really notice the aroma lol.
