We tried the AtoControl calming balm..

  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?

Unscented which is good, absorbed well, not greasy and easy to apply and measure out with the squeezy bottle.

  • How easy was the product to apply?

Easy to apply, absorbed well

  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

We usually use Aveeno and though this comparable. Daughter's rough knees were soothed and softened, plus some dry patches on her stomach.

  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?

Would definitely recommend it... like Aveeno but without the weird oat smell!

problembottom · 07/06/2025 12:43

I tried the Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+ with my daughter who is six.

  1. We loved the slight fragrance and the texture was great, I say this as someone who has tried a LOT of sun creams on my daughter! Packaging was nice and functional sturdy tube.
  2. My favourite thing about this cream was the ease of applying - it absorbed without being sticky, greasy or leaving a white caste. With the recent heatwave I apply suncream to my daughter every day before school which she doesn’t enjoy and this was very easy to apply which brilliant as we never have much time.
  3. This kept my daughter’s dry skin moisturised and she’s had no little eczema patches since using it so I’d say yes!
  4. A reliable kids suncream that’s easy to apply and does the job brilliantly. Yes I’d recommend will be repurchasing!

I tried the Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+ on my 3 year old

I really liked the texture of the product and the packaging. The product applies really easily and blends well into her skin. My child is dark skinned and getting a sun cream that doesn't leave a white cast is really important to me. The texture and the smell doesn't put her off which is really key as she gets fussy about smells sometimes. We've been using it for over a week now and it seems to be working really well for her dry and sensitive skin.

I also like the fact that the tube doesnt look messy or get messy, especially the part the cream comes out from. We've used other products where I always had to wipe the part of the tube you press the cream out of as it got messy.

I would definitely recommend this product to other parents, it is easy to apply, does the job and really good for little sensitive skins.

We tried the Eucerin AtoControl calming Balm
my son is 7

  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
  • My son enjoyed having the cream applied to him, I didn't notice a scent. I liked the packaging
  • How easy was the product to apply?
  • The product was thick but not too thick that you struggled to apply it. It just meant you didn't need to use as much which is good because it will last longer
  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?
  • Yes, his skin seemed smoother and less dry after application. He enjoyed the process
  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?
  • Yes, i would recommend. I would describe it as creamy, soothing and kind to sensitive skin
PervyMuskrat · 07/06/2025 16:15
  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
Texture is greasy and DD (10) didn’t like it. Unscented and the packaging is fine.
  • How easy was the product to apply?
  • Hard to apply, DD struggled to apply and made the skin greasy afterwards.
  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?
Not as well as the oat based creams tend to.
  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it? Wouldn’t recommend, the texture and the feeling of the skin afterwards was unpleasant. Will stick to the oat based creams as they absorb into the skin easier and DD is happy to apply those herself

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?

  • My daughter didn't like the texture on application, but once it had dried in, it was ok.

How easy was the product to apply?
-Very easy to apply, absorbed into skin well with no white casts.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

  • No reaction on sensitive eczema prone skin, but didn't especially soothe her skin.

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before?

  • Overall a good lightweight suncream that absorbs well and didn't react on my daughters sensitive skin. Unfortunately it only has 4 star UVA protection, so be aware of this.

Would you recommend it?
The only disappointment was it only has 4 star uva protection. Other sensitive sunscreens we have used have 5 star protection. I would probably keep it as a back up sunscreen, but not a main purchase.

We tried the Atocontrol balm.
The calm gentle colours suited the product, and was easy to dispense.
We both liked the thickness and texture of the balm as it was easy to spread and absorbed quickly.
We usually find that products cause an initial stinging or itchiness on my daughter's dry areas, but the Atocontrol didn't do this, and the rough patches were visibly reduced and softer to touch in the morning (we usually apply products before bed).
I would recommend this to other parents as a product to help ease dry skin or mild eczema.

We tested Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+ on me and my kids aged 14, 12, 10 and 8.

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?

Fabulous. Much lighter and thinner than standard suncream. It immediately disappeared into the skin.

How easy was the product to apply?

Very easy - I found it spread much easier than other suncream I’ve used.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

Yes there was no irritation whatsoever

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?

Both me and my eldest two children have incredibly sensitive, dry skin and eczema. I have never found a suncream that I am not allergic to until I used this one. I put some on myself at the same time as I put it on my children and I couldn’t believe that I had no reaction to it. I can’t even count the number of different creams I’ve tried over the years including some very expensive supposedly hypoallergenic ones. My children also had no adverse reaction to it. Suncream usually worsens their eczema.

I had it on my face under some makeup and I’d normally expect my eyes to be stinging and swollen by the end of the day, but I was fine. I also found it provided great protection from the sun which we were in all day as we were at a long cricket match. I would 100 per cent recommend this product and will be buying more for my family.

Virtualhelp · 08/06/2025 04:46

We tested Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+. I have an 11 month old and a 15 year old. Both with sensitive skin and eczema.

We liked the sun cream. There wasn’t a particularly strong scent which is nice. The texture was unusual as the sun cream was less greasy than others we’ve had. The packaging was fine, I like that it looks quite simple and the tube was easy to use.

The cream was very easy to apply. It absorbed into the skin nicely and didn’t leave a white residue like some sun cream seems to.

The sunscreen didn’t cause any issues with sensitive skin. My daughter is often very itchy but this didn’t bother her or make her eczema worse which is great.

I’d definitely recommend the sun cream. I found its unusual texture pleasant to apply and it absorbed very quickly into the skin. Also, didn’t feel like a chore to reapply as not greasy and horrible feeling.

popikaoana · 08/06/2025 12:24

The product worked wonders for my little ones, especially while travelling to Dubai where I’ve managed to get sunburn, but all the kids were ok thanks to it. It was easy to apply, it for absorbed very fast and it was not greasy at all. The scent was also very pleasant. I would definitely recommend it to other parents.

My 5 years old son enjoy using this calming balm by himself. After shower he takes a bit of the product and apply it all over his body and face. The texture is creamy and rich, small amount is all tou need. It gets absorbed very quick. It comes in a very appealing tube, easy to open and squeeze out the desired amount of product. Its also fragrance free.

Application is effortlessly easy and pleasant.

It worked instantly, his skin feels soft and hydrated. You can feel how smooth and moisturized it gets after each application.

If you or your children are struggling with sensitive or dry skin, there is a wonderful solution called Eucerin AtoControl Calming Gel. It works instantly and it provides long lasting hydration to your skin. It will sooth the skin irritation and will boost the skin barrier.
It gets absorbed in no time and won't create mess on your clothes.

Thanks for selecting me to test this product 😃

l tested the Eucerin sun kids F50 suncream and I have to say I’m really impressed with it. My daughter has very sensitive skin and most sun creams, especially the cheaper brands, tend to cause a flare-up. We’ve tried so many different ones over the years, but this one really seems to suit her skin.

The texture of the cream is light and not greasy at all, which I really liked, and it didn’t have an overpowering scent. It was easy to apply and absorbed well without leaving a sticky residue. It also didn’t stain her clothes, which is a bonus.

It seemed to last really well even with a lot of running around. I would definitely recommend this to other parents dealing with sensitive skin issues, especially if you have struggled to find a sun cream that works. Unfortunately we’ve only tried it once as the weather has been awful since but will deffo use as our go to suncream next time the sun decides to make an appearance!

I’ll definitely be buying this again once we run out and am tempted to try the soothing skin balm now.

Wildflowers66 · 08/06/2025 21:15

I tested the sun cream with my nearly 3 year old twins.

The gel texture was really nice - super easy to apply and melts on. Scent - I’ll be honest, I didn’t really notice! Packaging great - liked the bottle, easy to store and use.

One of my DC’s has quite dry skin and it seemed to help.

I would recommend and buy again - mainly as I really like the gel texture!

simontink · 08/06/2025 22:05

We used the AtoControl Balm. Myself and my daughter used. It was easy to apply and quickly absorbed. I noticed dry skin areas quickly became less dry and more soothed. A little went a long way and I also noticed as our skin became less dry the itching of our skin stopped.
The packaging was perfect and easy to apply from the tube. I would prefer pump action as easier for my daughter to apply herself.
I would recommend to other parents as it is suitable for the whole family and does what it says on the label.

>Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+
Age of Child: 12

I was really pleased with this product! The texture is lightweight and non-greasy, which made it easy and comfortable to apply.
The scent is very mild and pleasant, not overpowering or perfumed, which we appreciated since my child has sensitive skin and is prone to irritation from heavily scented products.
The packaging is practical and easy to use, even one-handed, which is a big plus when you’re juggling beach gear or applying sunscreen on the go.
Application was super easy—the gel-cream glides on smoothly, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave a sticky or white residue. My child didn’t complain about it feeling "yucky" like with some other sunscreens we've tried.
My child has dry, sensitive skin, and we were really happy that this didn’t cause any redness or flare-ups.
.
If I were describing this to another parent, I’d say: It’s a gentle, high-protection sunscreen that’s made for sensitive skin but still tough enough for hours of outdoor sun. It’s easy to apply and doesn’t leave that heavy, sticky feel.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Especially for parents looking for a reliable sunscreen for kids with sensitive or dry skin.

Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
we bought thought the texture was amazing, soft, not sticky and best of all it was not scented. His dry skin was located around his mouth/nose so he would have struggled if it was scented as he doesn't like it scented products.
The packaging was perfect, only a small amount is needed and the tube easily fits in a bag.

How easy was the product to apply?
It was very easy to apply, the soothing balm is transparent and it penetrated his skin very easily.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?
Yes it did, after one application in the evening, I checked his skin the next day, it was smooth and soft. The dry parches were gone.

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?
I would definitely recommend the soothing balm, and I would describe it as a miracle balm to clear any dry patches on the skin.

KM1718 · 09/06/2025 15:44

My 4 year old daughter tried the soothing balm.

The texture was quite greasy on first application, however I didn’t think this was a bad thing - it felt like it would make a difference to her dry skin rather than a thin lotion texture. It soaked in really fast and seemed to magically disappear with zero residue or greasiness after a minute or two. It was scentless which didn’t bother either of us.

It was easy to apply, it was fairly thick and required a bit of a squeeze to get it out. It did smooth the sore bits behind her knees.

I would use this again. It seemed like it was high quality. The lack of smell made me feel like it didn’t have unnecessary chemicals added to it. I would recommend to anyone.

We tested the Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF 50+

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
The packaging is not the most eye catching but looks similar to other sun protection products. The product is pretty much scent free, it has a slight chemically scent which doesn’t linger. My child was fairly disinterested in it but I suppose it’s not the most exciting thing for children! We found the texture pleasant on application, quite silky. It states it’s “dry touch” so I expected it to feel a bit like liquid talc, but it still felt a bit sticky on the skin to me.

How easy was the product to apply?
Very easy to apply, just squeeze the bottle and rub into skin - as above it’s a nice silky texture and is easy to spread evenly on the skin.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?
My child has very sensitive skin and she didn’t react to this product which is a bonus as we never know what will irritate her skin!

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?
This is a very gentle sun cream which worked well on my sensitive-skinned child. It is easy to apply and works well to protect the skin in the sun. Apparently it is “anti-sand” also, which I think means it helps stop sand sticking to skin - unfortunately we did not have the weather during this trial to test this aspect but it sounds like an added bonus!
