We tried the soothing skin balm with my son who is 4. He was totally fine with the texture scent and packaging and the product was easy to apply.
the product was great for his skin and I would probably describe it as a refreshing soothing lotion to a parent who hadn’t used it. I would definitely reccomend.

We tried Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+.

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
We loved the light creamy texture, which easily absorbed into the skin. The fragrance was light and subtle. The packaging and branding was appealing. We also liked that comes in a good family size 200mls squeezy tube.

How easy was the product to apply?
We found it very easy to apply the product and it was easily absorbed into the skin.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin? It
We found it very soothing, it didn't sting like some SPF products can do it left the skin feeling moisturized and hydrated.

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?
Unlike some SPF 50+ products this has a lovely light creamy texture, it easily absorbs into the skin. It soothes and calms the skin leaving it hydrated. There is no white residue on the skin and it has a subtle light fragrance. It comes in a good family size 200mls squeezy tube. I would definitely recommend it especially for little ones (and us adults) with dry and/or sensitive skin.

I tested Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+ on my son aged 3.

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
The texture was smooth but slightly thinner than other sunscreams. There was no scent and I liked the colourful packaging.

How easy was the product to apply? Very easy to apply but took a little while as the product is quite thin. Went on really nicely though.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin? My son has sensitive skin and this product didn't cause any flare ups.

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it? Yes I would recommend. I would describe it as a good option for sensitive skin especially if you prefer unfragranced options. But be aware of the slightly thinner texture

We tested the sun cream:

  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?

I tested this on DS who is 20 months old so he didn’t have too much of an opinion on the packaging or texture!
it’s a good size bottle and clearly states the benefits. The scent was minimal yet pleasant and the texture was great, it absorbed well and quickly. I preferred the slightly thinner consistency of this as I personally found it easier to apply.

  • How easy was the product to apply?

very easy to apply, absorbed quickly and didnt seem to bother ds when putting it on.

  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

I wouldn’t say so, his skin was soft and glowy after using it.

  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?

all round good suncream product for young children with sensitive skin. Big plus is the speed of absorption so the child isn’t sat there sticky for ages.

i would recommend this product.

I've tested Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm with children aged 8, 13 and 16. The scent of the product is not strong or overpowering. The texture is just right and makes application easy and mess-free. The packaging suits the product and provides useful information that is clearly presented. The product soothed dry and irritated skin on all 3 children. I've already recommended it to a few family members and friends describing it as a high quality product with a fast acting soothing effect and no irritation or mess.

  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
packaging is eye catching and easy to use. Scent is very mild, could be a little more stronger. The texture was a little too thick when applied to the arms, it left small chunks of product on the body which my child did not like.
  • How easy was the product to apply?
It was very easy to apply, wasn’t too thick or too watery.
  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?
it definitely soothed my child’s sensitive skin and kept it protected from the sun.
  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?
It is a very mild product to protect sensitive skin from the sun. it is reassuringly easily applied and doesn’t flare up sensitive skin at all. I would definitely recommend.

Tested: Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+ DD(7)

The product was easy to apply, didn’t pull on the skin but didn’t feel greasy on my hands or my daughter’s skin after application. My daughter appreciated the low-to-no-scent as she is very sensitive to smells. The packaging was “nice” - not offensive but doesn’t stand out incredibly; probably associated with a higher-end brand than supermarkets’ own brands. Product performed well today at a very hot sports afternoon!

I didn’t notice any soothing properties to the product, but it certainly didn’t irritate and no complaints arose when I applied over a skin abrasion.

I would describe the product as light, non-greasy, with good staying power/UV protection. I would buy again, price dependant. I would recommend to parents looking for a sun cream for their sense-sensitive children, not necessarily those with skin complaints.

smileymiley69 · 16/06/2025 21:02

We tried the Atocontrol Balm
I liked the tube packaging as its more hygienic compared to a tub.
The texture is quite thick but it blends into the skin well and is easily absorbed. I thought due to the thicker texture it might be a bit heavy or greasy but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was absorbed.
The product has no fragrance, which we liked.
The product is great for dry skin. I love using this on my dry hands and use it all over for my kids. My youngest has dry, itchy skin and this helped a lot in soothing her skin.
I would definitely recommend this to any parent who has a child with dry, itchy, sensitive skin.
It's a thick texture that is well absorbed into the skin and helps moisturise and soothe the skin.

Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+

  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?
The texture was lovely and silky both on the hands and on the skin. Thankfully there wasn’t a strong scent from this product. The packaaging was exactly what i would expect from a sunscreen product.
  • How easy was the product to apply?
This product was very easy to apply.
  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?
The cream worked well over my LOs dry skin. I didn’t notice any irritation or increased dry patches.
  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?
The perfect balance between a sunscreen and moisturiser that works well for sensitive and dark skin which can be a harder combination to come by. I would absolutely recommend this product 10/10.

  • How easy was the product to apply?
  • Really easy to apply, a thick enough texture to not be messy and also to feel it is soothing skin
  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

We tested the Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+, we found this to be lightly scented and had a nice creamy texture. The cream was easy to squeeze from the tube and as it was quite thick it didn't go everywhere! That's a bonus when dealing with kids and suncream!

This cream absorbed into my kids skin easily and didn't leave the sticky residue immediately after application, which made it super easy and clean to apply.

My kids sensitive skin often gets worse in the heat and have noticed in recent warm weather it hasn't got worse like it normally does, so it's possible that this suncream played a role in this.

Simply this is a thick suncream that is easily squeezed from the tube and is easily applied and doesn't go everywhere, it means it's not as messy to apply as others. It seems effective and kids sensitive skin seems to like this, so I really would recommend this cream to new users!

We tried Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm. I used it predominantly on my 3 year old as she has dry, sensitive skin, especially on her upper arms and thighs.

We both liked the texture and scent. It was a light, soft fragrance and the cream didn’t feel heavy on the skin as it absorbed quickly. Packaging was quite plain.

It was easy to apply the product. I helped in some areas and she was able to apply it herself in others.

The balm was great at calming the redness on her upper arms. It didn’t change the appearance or feel of the little dry bumps she has. It stopped her arms and legs itching.

This soothing skin balm is a good shout for any little ones with sore, red, itchy skin. It’s easy to apply and quickly absorbs leaving the skin visibly less red and feeling less itchy. It is handy to keep in the bathroom cabinet for all ages, I would recommend for anyone looking for a quick over the counter remedy.

We were lucky enough to be selected for testing the Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+

What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?

  • The gel texture is very easy to spread and it gets absorbed quickly. The scent is not strong or offensive at all. The tube packaging is handy and very easy to use.

How easy was the product to apply?

  • It is very easy to apply as it spreads effortlessly and sinks very well into the skin.

Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

  • Yes. My kid's dry and sensitive skin feels soothed and relieved despite being in the sun for a longer period of time.

How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?

  • I would definitely recommend it. We tested it during our vacation and it performed very well in the hot and humid conditions. It didn't leave a white cast and didn't make the skin feel sticky or greasy at all.
FlipFlopVibe · 20/06/2025 23:17

We tested the AtoControl Balm with our 20 month old. It’s not really aimed at children, the packaging is aimed at adults so doesn’t really appeal to kids. My toddler did like it though and helped rub it in his skin. It has a lovely consistency, like a looser Vaseline without leaving the skin feeling greasy or sticky. It sinks in easily too.
I quite like a smell to lotions usually but I can understand with children parents choose not to due to allergies or being ND so this would be a good choice. On the other hand it doesn’t smell medicinal either so more appealing.
My toddler has circular eczema patches over his tummy and back and these all went within a few days. I would definitely recommend trying this product if suffering from ongoing sensitive or very dry skin.

We tried the Eucerin Sun Kids Sensitive Protect Gel-Cream SPF50+

  • What did you and your child think of the texture, scent and packaging of the product?

He was okay with the texture, he doesn't usually tolerate suncream. Hated the smell though! Little sister loved the penguin on the bottle.

  • How easy was the product to apply?

Very easy, he could apply it himself.

  • Did the product help or soothe your child’s dry or sensitive skin?

His skin seemed a lot less dry than usual and he said it didn't sting going on like other suncreams.

  • How would you describe the product you tried to a parent who hasn’t used it before? Would you recommend it?

I'd say it's light and easily absorbed and does the job well. I'd definitely recommend it and will buy it if the price is reasonable.

Jadeleanne · 29/06/2025 01:37

I received the soothing balm I thought it smelt nice and it was nice and easy to apply it was perfect for my 7 month olds skin it left it nice and soft and soothing I highly recommend this amazing product to anyone it's amazing thankyou

NwStStJt · 29/06/2025 07:53

We used the AtoControl Balm on my 5 year old son who suffers from eczema.

1.) The packaging was fine, it fitted the “dermatology” look like many similar creams. There was no scent which I was happy about as my son’s skin breaks out with perfumed products. The texture is what I liked the best as it was non greasy.
2.) The product was extremely easy to apply, tube bottle, dispensed the right amount and wasn’t greasy or runny at all.
3,.) My son has doctor prescribed eczema treatment multiple times a day and I swapped that to this and was skeptical at first but really surprised to see it kept it at bay and his skin soft.
4.) I would recommend this product as I’m usually skeptical when it hasn’t been prescribed as my son has now had eczema continuously for 4 years but this was great at soothing and managing to keep it at bay.

aludone · 01/07/2025 19:44

Testers loved it—gentle, non-irritating, and great for sensitive skin.
