AnnMumsnet · 30/06/2016 15:43

The team at Coca-Cola Great Britain say “we were delighted to host MNers at our London HQ to showcase our new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.” MNers were given the chance to take part in a tasting as well as chat to the team to find out more about the drinks sold by Coca-Cola GB.

The event was aimed at adults who like a sparkling soft drink and were interested in trying no sugar options.

They say “Coca-Cola Great Britain is launching Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, a new and improved sugar-free Coca-Cola which will replace Coca-Cola Zero. It will taste even more like Coke and look more like Coke but without the sugar. It is the result of years of innovation and recipe development and will replace Coca-Cola Zero which was launched in 2006. We’re pleased to give MNers a chance to be one of the first to give it a try and tell us what they think.”

There was also be an opportunity to find out more about the drinks that Coca-Cola offers – they make and sell 18 different brands including favourites like Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Dr Pepper, Schweppes, smartwater and more. They also had experts on hand to answer any questions you might have about the drinks.

Attendees and non-attendees who tried Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at home, please share your responses to the following questions (non attendees please answer Qs 1- 5 below):

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports? Please share what you learnt at the event.
9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share?

Everyone who attended the event and shares their feedback on this thread on MN, will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £200 John Lewis voucher.

All non-attendees who try Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at home and share feedback on this thread, will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £100 John Lewis voucher (they should answer Q1-5 above).

Thanks and good luck!

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Diet Coke, Bottle Green , Cawston's, Ugly drinks, cordials.

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
it tasted very sweet!

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Yes it did! They were the only two i couldn't tell apart in the taste test!

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes I do think it is made very clear.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
It is too sweet for me, but I would recommend it to Classic Coca Cola drinkers wanting to reduce their sugar intake.

6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
Yes, pretty much! :)

7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
Good, but I would like to see them replacing Aspartame & Acesulfame K sweeteners from their drinks with more natural sweeteners.

8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports?
Yes, it was good to learn about their partnership with StreetGames and how it has helped bring sport to so many young people in cities across the UK but I would like to know more about the other community projects they help sponsor/fund, in more detail.

9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
The amount of money that has gone into the reformulation of their drinks in the last few years and how much sugar has been reduced in regular drinks such as Lilt, Fanta, Coke Life, etc.

10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share?
It was a fun and informative day, and it will be interesting to see Coca Colas progress as it works towards its target to reduce sugar over the next few years.

spanglisher · 05/07/2016 20:23

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Decaffeinated diet Coke or Diet Cherry Coke
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
It tasted more like Classic Coke than Classic Coke itself does. I haven't drunk Coke in years and this tasted like Coke I used to drink before they reduced the Sugar content.
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Yes, I got the two the wrong way around in the taste test
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
No, I found it too sweet and syrupy but would buy for Coke drinkers.
6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
I'd never really thought about it, but I did know there are sugar free versions of all their drinks
7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
I like the idea of reducing sugar content, but not sure artificial sweeteners are much better for you.
8 Woua you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports? Please share what you learnt at the event.
I missed this part of the talk but would be interested in learning more
9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
I hadn't realised how much the recipes had changed over the years in their regular drinks, particularly regarding sugar content
10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share
Thanks for a great day

Loubydoo · 06/07/2016 10:48

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Dr Pepper Zero

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I thought it tasted a lot more like red Coke.

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Yes, I was surprised that there was much of a difference.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
I think the name definitely makes it much clearer. I did wonder if the packaging is too much like red Coke and people might pick it up off the shelf by accident!

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Yes definitely - I prefer Coke Zero to diet Coke and I liked the new one even more.

6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
I knew about quite a few of them but didn't know the extent of the range.

7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
I think it's great to give people options. I don't agree with sugar tax - much better to give people the choice and let them decide what they want to drink.

8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports? Please share what you learnt at the event.
I though the sport events sound great. I think given that they said they don't market to children it would be great to see them involved in community events encourage adults (rather than families) to get involved in sport.

9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
The extent of the business in the UK.

10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share?
The Frozen Fanta was amazing - where can I buy it?

I received my goody bag yesterday - thank you very much - was a top notch bag!

I thought that your Head of Comms/Public Affairs who did the presentation was very good and delivered the presentation very well - it could have been a bit dry as there were a lot of stats etc but everything was very relevant and interesting.
Thanks again.

RueDeDay · 06/07/2016 13:41

Had this with lunch today so thought I'd add my tuppence worth!

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Diet coke

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Nicer than the old Coke Zero, but sweeter to my taste than Diet Coke

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Yes, it tastes more like Coke Classic than Diet Coke does.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes, more so than old Coke Zero.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I'd rather drink Coke Zero Sugar than classic Coke, but I prefer Diet Coke still... Am just accustomed to the particular tang I guess!

Kriek · 06/07/2016 16:15

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I am a diet coke girl through and through. I love the flavour of it.

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I would definitely buy it as a substitute to regular coke. I was fooled in the taste test. I considered myself to know them through and through but I got 2 out of 4!

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Absolutely. I loved its taste and would definitely buy it in the future as a substitute.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
The old version no but the new version yes. I can see why they have introduced more red into the design and I prefer it like that.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Yes. I love the taste of regular coke but dislike drinking it as a mixer because of the sugar content. This would meet my needs.

6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
I knew they were prolific but not that they had that many brands under them. I was suprised about tonic and also Rose'

7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
Much needed but it is only part of solution. The obesity crisis in the UK is not going to be solved by coke alone. The government should do more but not necessarily along the lines of a sugar tax.

8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports?
Yes. I was surprised and delighted that they offered so much. Well done Coca-Cola.

9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
I was most surprised at the level at which Coke are trying to reduce sugar. Their long term plan was nice to hear. I have spoken with several people about the lengths they go to to get community involvement.

10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share?
Thanks for a lovely day. I really enjoyed seeing the building and learning all about your wonderful range of products. Also DD says thanks for the lip-balms, she loves them!

AbsolutelyIDo · 06/07/2016 16:35

Sprite Zero
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Really impressed
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Yes
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Yes, occasionally as a treat
6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
No, I was surprised
7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
I think it's impressive and important
8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports? Please share what you learnt at the event.
Yes, I'd like to know more about how they affect some local projects to me specifically.
9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
I was surprised by how much it tasted like 'real' coke. It was a pleasant surprise!
10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share?

VickyRsuperstar · 06/07/2016 18:35

Thank you so much for inviting me to the Coca-Cola HQ! I had a fabulous time and learned a lot of interesting facts. It was a real fun event.

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar? Dr Pepper or Coke Zero

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I really liked it. It had a nice refreshing taste

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
I wasn't sure. I could tell the Regular / Classic Coke instantly as it tasted quite different to the other 3 in the taste test. I don't really like the aftertaste of the sugar in the full sugar Coke, but I do really like the taste of all the other 3 variants.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes it is very clear and I like the new packaging

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Yes definitely

6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
I didn't really think about it before, but I was already familiar with the products. It's good to know so many products are sugar free.

7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
I think it's a very good thing as there is far too much sugar in a lot of products. Any steps taken to reduce our sugar consumption is good and especially when children are concerned as sugar can so easily damage teeth as well as contribute to obsesity. I always opt for low sugar or sugar-free soft drinks for myself and my children.

8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports? Please share what you learnt at the event.
ParkLives is a really good initiative and I have looked up what available in our local area, but not many events yet. I will keep an eye on it.

9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you? I didn't know that there was no advertising aimed at under 12's and I was really impressed with this as it's very responsible marketing. Parents like myself often get fed up of kids being targetted by advertising so it's good to hear of companies who do not participate in it.

10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share? Yes thank you for the amazing opportunity. I had a really good day out and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I found the pre-tasting talk about how we taste things very interesting too. I was surprised that I had so much trouble identifying which drink was which other than the regular / classic coke!
Thank you so much for the top quality goody bag which arrived yesterday. It was amazing and so generous! All really lovely items which were very appreciated. I had to hide it quickly from the kids as they were all naming what they wanted out of it!
Lastly that frozen fizzy Coke machine was just awesome! That really needs to be marketed. I really enjoyed it and so want another cup! Please, please bring it mainstream!

  1. Diet Coke
  2. Much more like classic Coke than anything else.
  3. Yes, almost identical
  4. Yes, no mistake
  5. I think we are used to diet coke in our house and like it so not sure why we need this but if people want the authentic coke taste then this is a good option.
  6. No.
  7. They are making efforts but can't help but think it's only because they know they are going to be clobbered by the sugar tax and they don't want to get any bad publicity for the childhood obesity problems. They've happily marketed sugary drinks for years so this isn't about ethics, it's about profits.
  8. Park Life is a good initiative but not in my area yet.
  9. We were told that Coca Cola doesn't advertise directly to under 12s which is laudable but they are more than happy to have their products - including Classic Coke - as part of things such as Happy Meals in MacDonalds. They may not be spending their own money on this kind of marketing but they don't need to as others are doing it for them.
10. No.
PeggyMitchell123 · 07/07/2016 15:12

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
diet coke or diet pepsi
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
it tasted good, much more like regular coke
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
yes i was very surprised
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes it could not be any clearer
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
yes
6 Did you know how many of the sparkling soft drinks Coca-Cola Great Britain offer are sugar free?
no
7 What do you think of the actions Coca-Cola Great Britain are taking to reduce sugar?
I think its good but it is about time. They are well known for sugary drinks that i am surprised it has taken this long to start reducing sugar.
8 Would you like to know more about the community projects that Coca-Cola GB supports? Please share what you learnt at the event.
Park life sounds a good idea, had never heard of it before
9 What else did you learn at the event?/What most surprised you?
I did not know they did not advertise to under 12s
10 Do you have any other comments you would like to share?

ladedah · 07/07/2016 15:27

has everyone got their goodie bags? my friend & I got ours this week 😊

Rememberallball · 07/07/2016 16:00
  1. Prior to trying Coke Cola Zero Sugar my favoured soft drink was Diet Coke Caffeine Free or I drank other branded colas.

  2. Of the current Coke Cola varieties I liked Coke Cola Zero Sugar moat. It doesn't have the after taste that Coke Cola Life and Diet Coke have and it's not as obviously sweet as Coke Classic.

  3. Yes, I was surprised that Coke Cola Zero Sugar tasted very similar to Coke Classic but I preferred it as it wasn't so 'syrupy' as I remember Coke Classic to be.

  4. The new packaging makes it very clear that there is no sugar in the product however, the packaging is still distinctively different to Coke Classic as more black than red on the label - the mix of black and red also deviates from the current packaging trend of single colour for background with contrast colour for writing so highlights that it's a new product.

  5. I would be more likely to buy Coke Cola Zero Sugar than I was before it was reformulated and would pick it over other Coke products.

  6. I was aware that Coke Cola offers sugar free versions of all their fizzy drinks. I wasn't aware of some of the non Fizzy soft drinks that are also owned by Coke Cola Great Britain.

  7. I think it is good that Coke Cola GB are actively reducing the sugar content of all their drink brands and developing formulas using naturally occurring sweetners rather than relying on artificial sweetners which people are trying to reduce in their diet.

  8. It was interesting to see the information about ParkLives and the various community projects Coke Cola GB are involved in. It is also very good to hear that the company has taken the decision to stand by their commitment towards not targeting under 12s with their marketing by not focusing on that age group with their branded community projects. Many other companies would work the other way and, whilst saying they don't advertise towards primary aged and younger children, would promote their brand/products through sponsorship of events aimed at those youngsters.

  9. I think I was most surprised to learn just how many familiar brands are owned by Coke Cola GB and how much they've done to reduce sugar content of all their drinks (especially those listed as being classic or 'full' sugar drinks) and also their commitment to not target young children so ensuring they don't sponsor events for those parts of the community, primary schools etc.

  10. I really enjoyed the time at Coke Cola HQ, was surprised how similar all the types of Coke Cola tasted and how few people could identify all 4 of them.

I also love my goodie bag and its contents as well as my prize from the Coke Cola Bingo!!

Thank you for the invitation to participate.

greatbigwho · 08/07/2016 13:17

My husband, who scoffed at the idea it would ever replace his beloved Classic just texted to say he'd picked up a bottle of Zero Sugar instead of Classic at the train station, so I think that could be counted as a win Coca Cola!

MelRuxton · 08/07/2016 15:44

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Sprite

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Really close to the real thing. I love the fact it is zero sugar and it is now our go to soft drink.

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Much more like real coke. I have tried a lot of the sugar free versions of soft drinks and coke Zero is closest to the full sugar version.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Now it is easy to distinguish for a distance with the black label. When it was first released there were not a lot of 'zero' products available so you did have to take a closer look. It now is part of the coke range and very distinguishable.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Yes, it is part of our weekly grocery shop.

Tartyflette · 10/07/2016 01:45

I'd really love to try it, but cannot find it anywhere in the shops yet.
(live in the southeast)
When is it likely to go on general sale please?

I generally drink Diet Coke as I find the current Coke Zero too sweet but I have noticed it seems to taste far better in mainland Europe (i've been to France, Spain and Italy this year and drank it in all three countries. )
Or maybe it's just me....

Nousernameforme · 10/07/2016 07:18

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
*Classic coke but i started drinking coke zero in january as a way of cutting back on sugar. It did take a while to adjust but classic coke is a very rare treat now
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
*The best coke you can get is the classic coke in glass bottles I don't know why but it always tastes better in a glass bottle, However the new recipe coke zero came a very close second.
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
*Yes much more so. I am used to coke zero tasting like a slightly watered down saccharine infused coke. This was much much closer to the classic.
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
*Yes I fail to see how that could be made more clear.
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
*Yes although I did buy it anyway I will definitely continue to do so

Emmagreen2609 · 10/07/2016 12:27

Thanks for sending me the sugar free Coke. I would have loved to come to the event so it was great to be involved from home. I think feedback is really important so here's mine.

1.What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Diet Coke

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I found the taste quite sweet. It tasted much more like generic cola or Pepsi than the usual taste I would associate with the Coca Cola trade mark. It had a nice aftertaste though and was extremely palatable

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Much less. It tasted quite generic to me

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes. The can looked like coca-cola but it was clear that it was sugar free. The labelling for calories and ingredients was easy to find and also clear.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar
It's not a drink for me. I still prefer diet coca-cola as I prefer the overall taste. Sorry

LilySnape · 10/07/2016 20:02

So if its not got sugar in it what additives and cancer causing ingredients have replaced the sugar ? Im sure its a delightful chemical concoction Hmm any aspartame too by any chance ?

Gooseysgirl · 11/07/2016 16:09

Haven't received my sample yet but my BIL brought around some Coca-Cola Zero Sugar last night so I had the opportunity to try it out. I've also been drinking it today.
1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Coke Zero or Club Orange
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Not all that keen as I thought it was quite similar to Diet Coke. I prefer the original Coke Zero - I think that was much closer in taste to original Coca-cola.
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
No, I thought it was closer in taste to Diet Coke!
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar
Yes but I much preferred Coke Zero and will be stocking up before its all gone.

BlastedChickens · 11/07/2016 17:57

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

Coke Zero

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

I liked it - I found Coke zero nearer to Coke in taste than diet coke and this even more so.

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?

Yes because I really liked the original coke zero.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?

Yes I do on both counts.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

Yes I would

WannaBe · 12/07/2016 01:25

Non attendee:

"1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?" Classic Coke.

"2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?" it's not as nasty as Diet Coke, but t a patch on Coke.

"3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?" no. Actually it tasted less like Coke than I was expecting, given the amount of people I've heard say that it tastes just like Coke. I am a Coke snob and went into this blind (literally Wink) with an open mind that I might end up embarrassing myself with the smug belief that I would tell the difference. But I knew the difference instantly.

"4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?" yes.

"5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?" no.

Deedee75 · 12/07/2016 10:55

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
For a Cola drink, it is Pepsi Max, and in general I would chose diet Lemonade or diet fizzy Lemon and Lime.
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Slight saccharine taste, not all that dissimilar to diet Coke, only slightly nicer with less aftertaste.
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
No, Coca-Cola is my favourite non-diet cola drink, but this isn't as good.
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Yes, the black like on the current Coke Zero, and bold lettering of "Zero sugar" make it obvious it's sugar free.
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
No, if this was the only diet drink available I would opt for water instead.

libertysilk · 12/07/2016 12:13

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
I usually drink water, and occasionally lucozade.

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar? It had a very strong taste of sweeteners. It left an aftertaste of sweetners in my mouth.

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would? No, it tasted like diet coke. It tasted like I thought it would, but, I hoped it wouldn't taste of sweeteners, but unfortunately it did.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free? Yes, it is very clear the drink is sugar free.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar? No, I would not buy it. It has leaves a strong aftertaste of sweetener which I really don't like. It felt like I had left a tablet sweetener in my mouth after drinking. Didn't like it at all.

marsybum · 12/07/2016 13:09

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Cherry coke (dd) diet coke (me)
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
Tasted a bit like diet coke at first but less aftertaste
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?

Yes.
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
Couldn't be clearer
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

Yes I think we will

Mummybear2014 · 12/07/2016 14:26

I was chosen to try this at home, and my feedback is below.

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

Regular Coca-Cola Cherry

2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

Tasted better than I thought, still can taste the Aspartame sweetner, which is what I dislike about sugar free drinks, but it is a bit better than the Coca-Cola Diet range for this taste.

3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?

Yes a little bit.

4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?

Yes, Quite Clear on packaging. But I have always struggled with the difference between the Zero range and the Diet range - They are both Sugar free, and marketed as that, so whats the point in having both? I can only surmise from advertisements that the Zero range seems to be aimed more at males.

5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?

No, still too much of the Aspartame taste for my liking, so will stick to my normal choice

My Other comments and feedback are:

I compared this can to my colleagues can of Diet Coca-Cola. The only difference was that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar has added salt (possibly to enhance the flavour!). As salt is also unhealthy for you, I struggle to see how this is better than the Diet range for you!

The design of the can is good, it doesn't seem to be too eye-catching to the young children that like brightly coloured things, so hopefully this will help deter younger children from fizzy drinks.

1 What was/is your preferred soft drink before trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
My preferred soft drink is usually Sprite although now after trying Coca-Cola Zero Sugar I think I'd choose that too!
2 What did you think of the taste of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
It tasted just like 'full fat' coca-cola - very well rounded & cola-ie
3 Did Coca-Cola Zero Sugar taste more like Coca-Cola than you thought it would?
Yes! It really did.
4 Do you think the name and look of the drink make it clear that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar free?
It does. The newly imagined packaging works really well & clearly gets the zero sugar message across.
5 Would you buy Coca-Cola Zero Sugar?
YES. Without doubt. :)
