This thread is for the Mumsnetters who attended the David Lloyd tour days in Manchester, Hampton, and Edinburgh. Attendees were treated to a tour of their club and were then able to use the club for a week with their families.

Here’s what David Lloyd have to say about their clubs: ‘At David Lloyd Clubs there is something to keep the whole family entertained - from Mum and Dad, to little ones and teenagers. You can lead a healthy and active lifestyle together as a family with us. With more than 100 kids’ activities every single week and adult classes cleverly timed to coincide, you’ll love time together at your club. While the kids race around at our action-packed DL Kids Holiday Active club, you can work out in our state of the art gym, try a new class, such as group cycling or yoga, or simply relax and unwind in the sauna, spa or café bar. Kids can take swimming and tennis to the next level with our fantastic All Stars junior coaching and enjoy multi-sport and arts & crafts with Club Active. We always time our kids’ classes so that they coincide with group exercise classes for adults too.’

Attendees, please answer the questions below:

  • Which David Lloyd Event did you attend?
  • Who did you attend the David Lloyd event day with?
  • What was your overall impression of the club?
  • What did your DC(s) think of the club? What was their favourite bit?
  • What was your favourite activity at the club?
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend friends and/or family try a David Lloyd Club? If so, why?

If you have any other thoughts please don’t hesitate to add them too!

All attendees who add their feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 John Lewis voucher!

Thanks,
MNHQ

Update after our trial
We somehow managed a 2 week free trial which was great as I was working and hubby was able to take the kids during the day. We fitted in several visits to the gym which we all enjoyed, several trips to the pool, and even played our first game of squash in 20 years.
After the trial I got a call from the club asking if I might want to join. When I said I had no idea of prices she asked if I could come in to discuss but I just asked for prices over the phone. I was quoted roughly £200 for the 4 of us per month. Sadly this is far too much for us to commit to. I appreciate there were great facilities but it would have to be half that price for me to consider it. When you have so many other time commitments it would be difficult to fit in enough visits to make it worth the price. It's a shame because I liked the fact that we could go out as a family but manage to do different things together.
The club was always clean when we went and staff pleasant and helpful. So thanks for the test!
