This thread is for the 10 Mumsnetters who went to the UNIQLO Kidswear launch event on Saturday. Many thanks for going along to the event with your families - we hope you enjoyed it!

Here's what Uniqlo say about the range: "This is the first time UNIQLO has introduced kids wear across the UK business, and sees the cult classics and innovative pieces within the adult collection re-designed (and re-sized) for new born to 12 year olds. This exciting collection will contain items from UNIQLO's key product categories that have been adjusted to fit a kid's lifestyle."

Below are a few feedback questions for you to answer - if you have any more comments, please feel free to add them to your response.

• Overall, what did you and your family think of the UNIQLO Kidswear range? What did you like about it the most? Was there anything you didn't like?

I liked the older children's range more than than the infants, although I loved the fact the HeatTech range was also catering for infants.

Well we haven't tried them on but at the minute it's the HeatTech T shirts

Other than the HeatTech that I keep mentioning no. There was very little for 2-3. I liked the fleece lined hoodies but they started at 3-4. The chinos that we also liked had the same problem. I wouldn't buy from the infant range as they weren't really to my taste mainly leggings and I didn;t like the patterns.

I have bought things for myself before but until DS fits in the older children's range I'll only be buying HeatTech bits for him.

No more likely mainly because the stores are a fair distance from us but both DH and I get winter clothing from Uniqlo.

Not for children DS age but for slightly older children yes, the prices are reasonable although I'd prefer the down coats to be down like the adults coats not polyfill/down.

Overall, what did you and your family think of the UNIQLO Kidswear range? What did you like about it the most? Was there anything you didn't like?

There were some great pieces, I loved all the babywear and there were some lovely bits in both girls/boys. I found that some of the girls bits were a bit too girly for us (perfect for friends LOs though), but we found some great bits in the boys range, that really suited my eldest and looked great combined with a feminine twist. The quality of the fabric was good and there were some beautiful prints. The only thing I didn't really like was the sizing, there were big jumps between the babywear, it went from 9-12 to 18-24 and my youngest is 13 mths. I bought bits to keep for her to grow into. They were also a bit too generous in the older sizes my eldest is 3, but the 3-4 clothes were way too big and there was no smaller sizes available, so i could not buy a lot the pieces i wanted for her. :(

I loved so many of the babywear items, i bought some cute PJs, but could have bought one of everything! My Eldest LO really Loved a Pixar colab t-shirt with one of the aliens from ToyStory on!!

I will definitely be buying from the kids wear in the future, I loved the prints and quality of the fabrics. And there were some great pieces I would even wear! lol!

I love the brand, and think it is great, but the sizing issue did leave me a little bit disappointed with them, as I was so looking forward to buying pieces for my little ones.

I would recommend the Kidswear range, (and already have!) but would/have also let them about the sizing.

Non tester but was in store last week. Love Uniqlo for myself and also bought a couple of tops each for DD age 4 and DS age 2. They are better quality than similarly priced children's clothes and have washed well without shrinking. DS loves loves loves his Mickeys Mouse long sleeved t-shirt and there were some gorgeous boys shirts etc. I will definitely be buying more

We had a lovely time this morning, thank you! Lola loved having her picture taken (she went back twice!), trying on the clothes and was so pleased with her treats from the goody bag, as was I!! :)

I am LOVING it from what I can see...(non tester) Gorgeous...non frilly affordable range with a lovely choice of pattern and shape.

As DS is 8 months I didn't spend much time looking at the entire kids range just baby. I thought the clothes were ok. Quite safe wardrobe staples.

I bought a hoodie and a pair of jeans for DS. Loved the autumnal colours.

If I was passing a store I may wander in but it won't be one of my 'go to' shops when shopping for DS.
Also, I understand the rationale behind wrapping the baby clothes, however I think it is a bit unreasonable that they are non exchangeable or refundable. This completely knocks Uniqlo out - for me anyway - when choosing gifts if you are unable to change your mind.

I have bought from Uniqlo before and will again, had my eye on some lovely pieces that would be great for when I go back to work.

I will definitely buy Uniqlo clother again, not sure about baby clothes though. Customer service was great, although the staff didn't seem to be that knowledgable about the baby range.

I love the Illustrators hoodies. They are really fun. Someone put up some pictures of leggings that looked good too, but I couldn't find them on the website. The baby clothes looked nice too- I agree, it's a lot like Gap.

I'm not keen on the over-knee socks, you wouldn't see my girls wearing them, I don't think they are appropriate for children tbh. Most stuff seems good value but £5.90 for 2 pairs of knickers in a bit steep imo.

I have never shopped at Uniglo, I don't think I have one near me.

I probably would if I was passing a store, but wouldn't make a special trip. I was looking for a store locator on the website but haven't found one yet. The website needs a bit of work tbh.

It seems to be affordable and good quality, but my 2 are getting fussy in their old age (10 & 12) so getting a bit old for the kids range.

I don't seem to be able to search by gender, which is odd. I'm all for not stereotyping but the option to look for girls/boys clothes would be good.

MrsDeVere - Thank you it was lovely to meet you. We made the most of our day in town and went to the museums meltdowns aplenty in there.

These are the cute PJs I bought for my youngest daughter. (would also suit a little boy as they are quite unisex in style & design) :)

Here are some of the leggings I bought too, was hard to choose, will be back for more! They will be great teamed with a cute dress, or t-shirt and as the weather gets chilly they will look great with an oversized sweater or paired with a pair of denim shorts/skirt and layered tops and knits. :)

My DCs and I really enjoyed attending the event, and the goody bag went down a treat - thankyou!

The range is lovely - bright colours and bold patterns which we really like. That said, the range seems quite limited. In particular, it is advertised as being suitable from newborn. In fact the smallest items are 3 months, and there were only a couple of items in that size in the store. This was a shame as my youngest is 5 weeks, and I really love bright colours and bold designs in babywear. I didn't like, as others have mentioned, the confusing sizing. Some items are in ages, some in S/M/L which is not particularly helpful. My older 2 won't be able to wear the range for long - whilst it goes up to age 11, there is limited clothing in this age group, and whilst my two aren't skinny, there was not a lot of room so both had to go up a size meaning DS1 won't be getting Uniqlo clothes for more than a year.

My favourite item(s) was the range of leggings - really lovely, good quality, and fabulous patters. Both DD and DS1 loved the polyfill down vests.

Yes, we bought some items at the event. In future it is just DD and DS2 who will really be able to wear clothing from the range. It is a shame the range doesn't extend to real newborn wear (realistically the range seems to open up around 12 months) as the bright clothes would make great new baby gifts.

I had never heard of Uniqlo before - I do like it and may also buy for myself in future.

Yes - it was good to see the actual quality of the clothes and get an idea of sizing.

I would recommend this, but suggest going to a shop in the first instance to get a good idea of the sizing.

Thanks for having us along to the event - we really enjoyed it - here is an image of DD trying on the vest, a long sleeved top and some shorts.

Really like the puffer jacket and body warmer, a nice block of colour that looks very cosy. The hoodies look great too.

I've never shopped in Uniqlo before but will have a look now.

We'd be most likely to buy a hoody or trousers, because I'm happy to get lower quality t-shirts but want trousers to wear well and everyone needs a really nice hoody.

Hi: I took my kids (daughter 7 and son 5) to the event and we all enjoyed it.

• Overall, what did you and your family think of the UNIQLO Kidswear range? What did you like about it the most? Was there anything you didn't like? We liked the mini-me versions of eg, the down jackets and also the heat tech. Would have liked more solid t-shirts and maybe some jumpers.

• Of everything you saw and/or tried on from the range, what was your favourite item? And what about your DP/DC? The down jackets - I bought one for my daughter who was very excited. Good range of colours.

Non tester here...All I can say is "about time too" - long thought it was an oversight by Uniqlo!

I was very excited to see that our local Uniqlo store sells children's clothes and at a fair price too...Very happy, as Uniqlo do quirky at a reasonable cost. Will have to discipline myself to not get carried away with over-spending on the children .

I like the the packaparker? and the zip up jackets but nothing stands out to me. The range seems to be very small.

Before seeing the advertisement for mums netters to attend the event id never even heard of Uniqlo so I've never bought anything from there :)

I doubt I will buy anything, it does look similar to usual high street clothing and I prefer to buy things in store rather than online. If the Uniqlo store or a shop selling Uniqlo clothing was closer to me I would be more inclined to buy. Or if the sale prices were good online.
