This thread is for the 10 Mumsnetters who went to the UNIQLO Kidswear launch event on Saturday. Many thanks for going along to the event with your families - we hope you enjoyed it!

Here's what Uniqlo say about the range: "This is the first time UNIQLO has introduced kids wear across the UK business, and sees the cult classics and innovative pieces within the adult collection re-designed (and re-sized) for new born to 12 year olds. This exciting collection will contain items from UNIQLO's key product categories that have been adjusted to fit a kid's lifestyle."

Below are a few feedback questions for you to answer - if you have any more comments, please feel free to add them to your response.

Forgot to say DD's fave pieces were the down jackets and the leggings and I liked most of it to be honest! Also just looked at the website again and am pleased to see a lovely cardi that I'll just have to get!

So we (DD and I) went to the event day and I'm only just posting now, huge apologies

DD had a great time and I ended up buying one of the hoodies, two pairs of leggings, a 'loungewear set' (pyjamas!) and the pink Ivana Helsinki dress.

I think what I liked most about the range was the 'unfussiness' of it all, just good quality kids' clothing at a decent price, not too 'blingy' (like a lot of the stuff in H and M or Next, for example), good colours and some hoodies and jackets are obviously unisex.

I've previously shopped in Uniqlo and bought great basics from there and my fave jeans, also cardis. I'm just as likely now to also pop in for kidswear for DD, and would definitely recommend the range to friends and family.

Sizing in the kids range is the only issue I have as DD is small and v slim for her age. There needs to be a 6-7 age range. Why do so many retailers seem to jump from 5-6 then 7-8? I've always found adult Uniqlo sizing consistent.

Non-tester: update to my previous post.
My order arrived (down jacket, down sleeveless vest, 2 cardigans, 2 knit tunics, 1 courdroy tunic). It's all lovely, lovely stuff. BUT TOO BIG!!! My daughter is just turning 3, and it seems that she cannot wear any of your clothes.
Big shame, and a huge oversight on the part of Uniqlo.

The kids range looks great, particularly the super-light down jackets and the heattech tops (I haven't seen either of those for kids anywhere else).

The prices look good too.

I'm a great fan of Uniqlo, as I think they offer brilliant quality basics and the prices are excellent. I will definitely look to buy kids clothes there in the future; my only problem is that only one of my three DCs still falls inside the age range!

I liked the fleeces but they don't appear to be for sale. Girls dress was nice.

Non-tester: I like the down jackets and parkas, and I think the prices are very reasonable for children's clothing of this type. I would love a down jacket for myself too. Unfortunately Uniqlo does not ship to Ireland (which is baffling considering every other clothing company has NO PROBLEM doing this) and no shops or stockists here either, so I won't be doing any shopping from them. Buy stuff for myself and DH every year. Always get some Heattech and need some again this year as DH not got enough apparently! Thoroughly recommend Heattech it saves me when I am on the side of a frozen football pitch. Love the bootcut jeans - I have a pair that are pre kids which still haven't bagged at the knee. I also like the plain long sleeved tops.

Am planning to buy some heattech for DSs. Will probably get some other stuff too as the quality is always excellent and I like the bright colours

I recently ordered some merino wool sweaters for myself and a leaflet about the kids range was included in my order. I had a look online and was really impressed with the range, styles and prices. Until buying my merino wool sweaters I haven't shopped at Uniqlo before - I;m very impressed with the quality of the sweaters, so I'm hoping that bodes well for the kids clothes.
My daughter is just turning 3, and I wanted to buy her new dresses/tunics and cardigans. I was in Oxford Street this afternoon, but was very disappointed that the full range wasn't in store (the branch opposite John Lewis). I asked a sales assistant who said that it was still 'experimental' and would be rolled out more fully in time. I ended up placing an order online when I got home.
Anyway, first point, is that it is irritating if items on the website are not available in store. Secondly, the sizing seems to be a bit 'gappy'. As a just 3 year old, DD is too big for the baby/toddler sizes, but I'm concerned that the age 3-4 sizes, that are the smallest available in the 'kids proper' range will be too big for her. I haven't received the items I;ve ordered yet, but from looking at other items in the size 3-4 in store, I think she may be swamped. It will be a shame if it turns out that she is both too big and yet too small to wear your clothes.

I bought loads of uniqlo stuff when I loved in Japan. I loved their hoodies. However in Japan it was priced as affordable basics. In the uk I think the prices have been bumped up.

Nothing stood out in particular. I'd like to see more choices of tops. The range of bottoms was better and the casual trousers in various colours seemed reasonable.

I have purchased with you before for Christmas presents.

I'd like to see more colours for boys. My favourite shop at the moment for my children is h&m. Great quality cotton, comprehensive range, fantastic prices. I've just bought a new winter wardrobe from their kids section.

Some incentives to purchase from you would be useful to parents. Do you do free returns? Percentage off?free delivery etc. that's when I tend to stock up.

Non-tester here! I have had a look at the website, I think it's easy to navigate and think I'll be buying my DS some of the polo shirts (really hard to find plain ones). Don't think there's much else I'd get for him though.

The baby clothes also look nice, although not enough in under 9months clothes, there's really only sleep suits and body vests, if the leggings could be in 3-6 or 6-9 months as well I'd be buying some.

DH and I have been buying Uniqlo for years, since it came to the uk. I like the knitwear and heat tech, and some of the ltd edition prints with designers too.

The last thing I bought was a silk wrap top and a pair of shorts. DH loves the t shirts.

I like the kids at first look - love the camo toddler trousers especially, they look really comfy. Also it's great to see leggings in boy-friendly colours. I'd like to see more heat tech stuff as this would be great in winter.

Think I'd want to see it in person before buying online. Will have to make a trip next time I'm in London!

Bit confused about the sizing - there's no 12-18 months in anything? Is this because its all sold out, or it doesn't exist?

I have many items from Uniqlo including a ultra light down jacket and some dresses. I have purchased scraves/ stoles in the past. I like the designer collabrations.

Yes I like the bright coloured jackets. I wished there was more for boys. The range is small.

Sounds great; I love the grown up Heat Tech and their simple, classic style of clothes so will definitely be checking somethings for the kids. Price points look realistic and style factor is there, good to have another high street option.

I often shop at Uniqlo and am quite excited about a children's range. Their basics are good quality and reasonably priced and they often have really nice jackets and stuff for work - it goes quickly and it's often not a very large range though so it's worth keeping your eye on the store. I think the sales are pretty good. Having looked at the baby range, it seems quite limited but I like the little down vests. I can imagine shopping there more when my two are older as there seems more choice for older kids.

I buy clothes for myself and my husband from Uniqlo regularly. I really like the printed items for babies and down jackets for children. I think the range looks superior to Baby Gap, as there's more diversity in terms of prints and shapes, at better prices. And I often find Uniqlo garments better quality.

Like previous posters, I would agree that less gender specificity would be good, as so many of the items Uniqlo makes could be worn by either gender anyway, and it would be a progressive step to 'de-gender' the way some of the babies'/kids' items are listed.

First off i found the mobile site a pain to use.....too many subheadings and no way of seeing different colour options without clicking on an item.

I have boys only.
I liked the hoodies and long sleeved tops (plain) ones. Also liked the down coats. I didnt like the sloganny ut tops... Some patterned but non slogan boys stuff would be nice. I have a feeling it would come across better all set out in a shop rather than the mpbile site.
