With the kind help of ten mums and their children (including, we think, at least a couple of mumsnetters) pre-school TV channel, Cartoonito, recorded a new rendition of 'My Favourite Things' from The Sound of Music with Myleene Klass at the piano. To see the finished product click here

Cartoonito now want Mumsnetters to tell them about your favourite and least favourite things about parenthood. Everyone who contributes will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £100 Mothercare vouchers. Click here to hear what other mums and dads have said already.

Thanks

Best thing: Watching my angels sleep peacefully at night.

Worst thing: Knowing that I am getting it wrong alot and not sure how to change things.

dingdong3 · 13/10/2009 11:40

Best thing : the smiles on my DT's faces when I come in in the morning to pick them up-that unconditional love is incredible.

Worst thing : The worry when you're kids start to go out into the world on their own...so hard to dispel thoughts about them getting into diffs and needing you and you not being there.

notnowbernard · 13/10/2009 12:04

Best thing: the absolute love you feel for them

Worst thing: NO MORE LIE-INS

MaryBS · 13/10/2009 12:19

Best thing: "I love you mummy, you're the bestest mummy in the whole world"

Worst thing: cleaning up vomit and changing the bedding for the 5th time, at about 4am, not forgetting the child who is covered in it, "wanting a hug"

ButtercupWafflehead · 13/10/2009 12:26

Best thing: The squidgy cheerfulness of toddlerhood.

Worst thing: the faint wail in the middle of the night...."Muuuuuuuuuum......."

SpookyMadMummy · 13/10/2009 12:56

Favourite thing - The cuddles when the DDs' ome home from school and how glsd they are to see me.
Least favourite - all the housework and washing they so generously give me!

mumatsea · 13/10/2009 13:16

Best: making her giggle and watching her happily at play

Worst: No time off - even on holidays!

Jbck · 13/10/2009 14:49

Best - the complete joy they've brought to my life, I'm welling up now.

worst - the mess!

mynameis · 13/10/2009 14:54

Best thing: hearing 'I love you mummy' at the end of a trying day

Worst thing: The constant fear of something awful happening to the children and knowing I won't always be there to protect them.

pureeandpearls · 13/10/2009 15:28

Worst thing: them waking up just as you are about to fall asleep. (And the never-ending gut-wrenching all-consuming guilt and worry.)

Best thing: the sleepy cuddles in the dark as you get them back off to sleep again (and finally getting to have the never-ending gut-wrenching all-consuming guilt and worry.)

EccentricaGallumbats · 13/10/2009 17:36

Best thing - when they are asleep and look all smalland angelic

Worst thing - when it is all my fault.

daffodilli · 13/10/2009 18:29

Best thing - loads of 'best things', but, my 5 week old DSs lovely big gummy grin is the tops!

Worst thing - all consuming guilt that you are 'not doing it right' and the 'are they ok' panic.

Rumpel · 13/10/2009 19:33

Worst thing - never just being 'you' again and having no time to just 'be'.

Best Thing - unashamedly huge big giant lovely snuggly squishy hugs just because.

pseudscorner · 13/10/2009 20:09

Best thing - DD makes me laugh so much. More than anyone else in fact. And her laugh is so infectious so we set each other off all the time.

Worst thing - tantrums / whinging.

Favourite thing: Checking in on them on my way up to bed when they're fast asleep and looking peaceful, warm and angelic

Worst thing: Not being able to go the loo in peace!

Sexonlegs · 13/10/2009 22:01

Best thing: seeing my daughters' faces when I pick them up from nursery and school

Worst thing: the constant demands for drinks, food, attention etc etc

mckenzie · 13/10/2009 23:34

worst thing - not having a handbook to refer to when things don't go as expected
best thing - unconditional love

Rachmumoftwo · 13/10/2009 23:55

Cuddles are my favourite.

Nits are the bit I hate!

WowOoo · 14/10/2009 09:44

Best: Watching a lovely little personality develop

Worst: No me time anymore

Sunflower36 · 14/10/2009 09:59

Best thing - just being with them and doing things that make them happy.

Worst thing - worrying that I am doing it all wrong!

gegs73 · 14/10/2009 12:22

Best thing - seeing them enjoy themselves and laughing

Worst - no lie ins ever again and hard to be spontaneous!

Hulababy · 14/10/2009 12:51

Best thing: listening to DD laughing and happy, and confident with her friends and family

Worst thing: never having quite enough time to fit everything in we want to do

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 14/10/2009 14:17

Best thing - watching them grow and develop and learn new things

Worst thing - watching them grow and develop and learn new things, and knowing they'll be off on their way one day

bogie · 14/10/2009 16:44

The worst thing is never having enough time EVER

The best thing is everything else :-)
