With the kind help of ten mums and their children (including, we think, at least a couple of mumsnetters) pre-school TV channel, Cartoonito, recorded a new rendition of 'My Favourite Things' from The Sound of Music with Myleene Klass at the piano. To see the finished product click here

Cartoonito now want Mumsnetters to tell them about your favourite and least favourite things about parenthood. Everyone who contributes will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £100 Mothercare vouchers. Click here to hear what other mums and dads have said already.

Thanks

Best thing: seeing family traits reflected in my dd. It's a sense of belonging and continuity.

Worst thing: The mess! Her bedroom constantly looks like a bomb has hit it!

Best thing: knowing you are raising a happy, caring, quirky, fun loving child who you love so much and that they love you too.

Worst thing: knowing that there will always be something to worry about

Best: Their developing sense of humour and the giggles when they tell a joke

Worst: Becoming more inflexible and spontaneous as babysitters need to be arranged before a night out. And school holidays have to be adhered to.

Another worst thing: having to listen to their music in the car, thankfully almost over as they no longer want Bob the Builder or God help us, Myleene Klass singing the Sound of Music.

myself and ds 6 and dd 4 have taken part in the new series of Go And... We are the ones who make a tent in the house for anyone who watches this. It's not been shown yet, dc's had loads of fun, and the crew were fab.

Best thing about parenting: embracing childhood all over again and watching your child grow into this amazing little loveable character

Worst thing about parenting: the worrying

Best - Investing time into your children to help mould them, also the laughter they bring.

Worst - Definately the constant worry and trying to let them make certain mistakes so they learn.

worst thing is knowing one day the will grow up.

Best thing is the lovely lazy pjs day where we lounge about and 'cuggle'

Worst thing for me is the worry... Just finding a balance for keeping them safe without wrapping them in cotton wool

Best thing is the pure, unconditional love... that makes you so much less selfish and put this other person first in your life (even when they are being bloody annoying!! )

Worst is worrying they may get bullied.

Best thing is hearing your children say I LOVE YOU

Worst thing - worrying : about them, if I am doing the right thing, if they are happy

Best thing - cuddling them both when we read a story together all sitting in one chair.

Best thing is looking at them and thinking "I made them"

Worst thing is knowing that I won't always be their number one

best thing - melty giggles that make you feel so happy you could cry!, being told 'mummy i love you millions and billions!', and tiny baby snuggles!

worst - guilt, worrying if your giving them the most amazing childhood you possibly can.

Worst thing - trying to do fifty squillion things at once, plus sing baa baa black sheep and make a drink "In the BLUE cup!" whilst trying to apply for a job on the phone and stopping the cat throwing up on the floor.

Best thing - never, ever being lonely.

Worst thing: combing nits out of their hair - again!

Best thing: seeing the world through their eyes and rediscovering what it's like to be innocent.

Worst thing: The guilt of parenthood

Best thing: Watching this little person develop who is just like me but also someone else completely.

Worst thing: It's a toss up between having no 'me' time and being ridiculously tired!

Best thing: The huge grin and stampeed to get to me when I pick my DS up from nursery - it makes my crap morning at work go quicker just thinking about it

Worst: no 'me' time - especially being followed to the loo. Sigh.

Best- watching his personality blossom everyday, each day he amazes me with what he can do.

Worst- the constant worry of trying to be the best Mummy I can be, worrying about every little thing!

The very best thing - the beautiful person that the child I carried and raised has turned in to

The worst thing - (often irrational) guilt beyond all my worst imaginings

Worst Thing- The Tantrums.

Worst thing: the little trembly lower lip and tears springing into big blue innocent eyes

Best thing: big hug + "Best mummy in the world" (and also "best cook" )

Report

Least favourite- Always on duty, no matter how sick, or grumpy you feel.

Most favourite- Especially those grumpy and sick days, when they do or say something sweet and loving that touches you so much you can no longer feel sorry for yourself
