We all have ideas about what our children will and won't eat... and then they completely surprise us.

Has your child ever loved a food you were convinced they'd refuse? Maybe they happily tucked into something spicy, developed a taste for olives, or unexpectedly became obsessed with curry or sushi!

If you're happy to share, we'd love to hear about it. Your story might even encourage another parent to try something new with their own child. 🍽

Leave your comments by 13/8/26, to be entered into the Rosa's Thai voucher draw.

Daughter loved olives as a toddler then had an extremely fussy phase. Came out of that and she wouldn’t touch cheddar but loved Parmesan 🤷🏻‍♀️
It’s still a struggle with veggies but we are getting there, her new favourite thing to eat is Pad Krapow which is great as it’s one of my favourite things to eat too!

Vegetable spring rolls. Might not sound very exotic but it was for my very picky girl!

DD, Caper berries.
DS1, Fish food! Most of a tub destined for our goldfish.
DS2, Crazy about damsons and eats them before they are fully ripe.

8yo has always loved really strong olives, stronger than even we adults like...
He's not keen on spicy food but powered through a gochuchang chicken bake, having a big swig of milk after every mouthful!

My children are both obsessed with sushi as the rice is “clean” as they don’t like mixing of sauce and rice or pasta on other foods

My youngest is very fussy although he is willing to try new things. He recently discovered smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and now won't eat anything else!

Spicy papaya salad - from Rosa’s Thai as it happens. Got it for myself to eat on the way home from work but had tiny bit left. My child tried it and now I have to get it weekly for her. Eaten as is - no rice, nothing!

My daughter is autistic and I cannot for the life of me get her to eat something simple such as a sandwich or a jacket potato. Instead she loves east asian food and all sorts of unusual stuff. We recently went to Scotland and she surprised me by tucking into a full lobster and mussels, which are now her favourite foods!
