Hi Mumsnetters! December has finally arrived, and it’s time to dive into all the festive family fun...

Once again, Uniqlo’s beloved HEATTECH range is here to keep us warm and ready for the season! Whether you’re heading to a Christmas market, singing carols with the kids, or setting out on a family walk, staying cosy and comfortable is key to making the most of winter adventures.

We'd love to hear about your favourite winter plans and how you keep the family cosy during outdoor adventures. Have you tried layering with Uniqlo’s HEATTECH? What are your go-to tips for staying warm while on the move? As the saying goes, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!”

If you’d like some inspiration, check out Uniqlo’s Heattech Range and let us know your favourite pieces in the comments! For example, we love this Heattech Cashmere Blend T-Shirt which is super soft, extra warm and comes in 6 beautiful colours; perfect for layering on cold days! Designed with ultra-fine fibres to provide lightweight, effective warmth, HEATTECH thermals are a great way to keep the whole family warm.

To be in with a chance of winning a £200 Uniqlo gift card all you need to do is:

  • Vote in the poll below

Here’s what Uniqlo have to say:

Gone are the days of piling on multiple layers to stay warm. HEATTECH represents the pinnacle of Japanese cutting-edge fibre technology. Designed with innovative materials, HEATTECH wicks moisture from the body and converts it into heat, creating warmth with every movement.

Our HEATTECH thermal base layers for children are thoughtfully crafted for comfort and functionality. Featuring cotton for a gentle touch and skin-friendly stitching, these layers are made with stretch fibers to ensure unrestricted movement. The collection offers three levels of thermal insulation: Standard HEATTECH, Ultra Warm, and Extra Warm.

These down coats have been the BEST to keep my DC's warm - but would not buy the light colours .

Nothing fancy but we like to find hot chocolate places and go to the park. My kids love bubble tea aswell, it is expensive though so we only have this once in a while.

I'm really disappointed with the weather this week. We did the Christmassy stuff like markets and Iceskating before Christmas and I was hoping for some crisp bright weather to go for nice walks. Instead it looks like it will brighten up when I'm back at work.

DH is loving the Uniqlo gilet I bought him for Christmas mind, I'd just hoped he'd been further than the shed in it.

youareonlyhereonce · 02/01/2025 11:39

We are all going to the allotment - weeding, digging and clearing out the shed for the new season. Rosy cheeks and a pot noodle for dinner in the shed - all wrapped up - it's a New Year tradition for us all.

Beabeautiful · 06/01/2025 07:55

We are Christmas shopping, outdoor markets, museums (the national railway museum is one of our favourites - but so cold)
Thermals and down coats mean you don't really feel the cold - yet to find a good pair of gloves though

AllBranEater · 06/01/2025 17:23

I love these! They don't just keep you warm they make you look good too!

katfje · 06/01/2025 22:36

A Heattech top was really handy for a chilly Boxing Day walk

pushchairprincess · 07/01/2025 10:24

Love fleece from Heattech, really soft and super warm -perfect for keeping us warm when in the snow - even better when it's a school snow day ! Fleece is super easy to wash and dries really quickly

prawncocktailcrispss · 09/01/2025 13:43

Our winter activities are walking to grandma's , going to the open markets and park where we get hot chocolate, and riding bikes - thermals are always essential - or they wear pyjamas under their trousers if they are in the wash.

benjaminjamesandgraham · 09/01/2025 15:46

Our winter activites were/are clearing snow - making snowmen, going to the park.
Hats, gloved and a down coat - we are all good to go.

LittleDeeAndME · 10/01/2025 07:41

As a family we loved going for walks, we have a lot of open spaces so we are lucky to take the bikes and scooters there, thermal vests and long johns are something I always dress my children in - as it is often difficult to get them to want to come home once we are at the park. (I love my heat patches which I put on my lower back when we are out)

lovemyflipflops · 14/01/2025 10:12

We went to Christmas markets, parks, and walks to get fresh air after we were stuck inside for too long. I always buy down coats for mine - never feel the cold.

DinkyDaffodil · 14/01/2025 15:30

Decorating the church was one - it's a cold cold building - hats gloves and thermals on helped.

Seems like the vote is closed. Can I still enter? O would have clicked on warm socks.

My plans are for a quiet Christmas this year. Will soon put up the Christmas tree and some decorations.

Hi @PumpkinPurple thanks for your comment! Our polls remain live for 7 days once the thread is posted, we are working on trying to extend this. Thank you!
