Hi Mumsnetters! December has finally arrived, and it’s time to dive into all the festive family fun...

Once again, Uniqlo’s beloved HEATTECH range is here to keep us warm and ready for the season! Whether you’re heading to a Christmas market, singing carols with the kids, or setting out on a family walk, staying cosy and comfortable is key to making the most of winter adventures.

We'd love to hear about your favourite winter plans and how you keep the family cosy during outdoor adventures. Have you tried layering with Uniqlo’s HEATTECH? What are your go-to tips for staying warm while on the move? As the saying goes, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!”

If you’d like some inspiration, check out Uniqlo’s Heattech Range and let us know your favourite pieces in the comments! For example, we love this Heattech Cashmere Blend T-Shirt which is super soft, extra warm and comes in 6 beautiful colours; perfect for layering on cold days! Designed with ultra-fine fibres to provide lightweight, effective warmth, HEATTECH thermals are a great way to keep the whole family warm.

To be in with a chance of winning a £200 Uniqlo gift card all you need to do is:

  • Vote in the poll below

Here’s what Uniqlo have to say:

Gone are the days of piling on multiple layers to stay warm. HEATTECH represents the pinnacle of Japanese cutting-edge fibre technology. Designed with innovative materials, HEATTECH wicks moisture from the body and converts it into heat, creating warmth with every movement.

Our HEATTECH thermal base layers for children are thoughtfully crafted for comfort and functionality. The collection offers three levels of thermal insulation: Standard HEATTECH, Ultra Warm, and Extra Warm.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Festive steam train rides to meet Santa! Will definitely be layering up with the essentials - hats, scarves, gloves. For the kids, vests are always on!

aLittleWhiteHorse · 03/12/2024 01:00

I have an outdoor Carol service this week for Riding For The Disabled and we need to dress up warmly! It’ll be thermal tights and layers plus a big coat, hat and scarf.

I use the Heattech products as pyjama tips for me and for my dad in winter time as they make life so much easier.

orangegato · 03/12/2024 08:08

We’re off to another city for the Christmas markets. Lots of layers and the mulled wine should keep us warm!

Amaura · 03/12/2024 10:50

I only wear base leggings if I know if will be below zero all day, otherwise I get too toasty. Saying that, photographing the early crisp cold mornings does result in base and overlayer everywhere humanly possible

Dashel · 03/12/2024 16:09

Lots of layers including two pairs of socks and thick jumpers when I need to go out.

Lots of Christmas activities but my favourite is foraging for some winter foliage a lots of winter markets

SailorVeee · 03/12/2024 18:34

Lots of layers, vest, long sleeve t-shirts and jumpers. I also wear fleece lined leggings. My daughter isn't a fan of hats but we wear those knitted headbands and they help keep ears warm (I hate cold ears in icy weather).

LittleTwiggy · 03/12/2024 21:09

We enjoy the light trail at our local zoo this time of year! My winter outfit normally includes fluffy fleece lined leggings, thick wool coat and chunky scarf.

WhitegreeNcandle · 03/12/2024 21:33

Son is off on his first ski trip this winter so have stocked up on Heattech layers. We wear them on the farm Nov - March to keep the cold and wind out.

Theimpossiblegirl · 03/12/2024 21:35

We're going to a light trail,a Christmas market and tobogganing for our festive outings this year.

Summergarden · 03/12/2024 21:51

We are off to an outdoor carol singing event and light trail so need to wrap up warm. Lots of woolens including hat, scarf and gloves.

Never heard of HEATTECH products before but will definitely check them out.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 03/12/2024 22:09

Head to toe Heatech beneath everything. The extra warm leggings under big skirts. Big fan on neck warmers instead of scarves.

FutureFry · 03/12/2024 22:36

Looking forward to some crisp dog walks with the family, and the outdoor skate rink that's coming next week.

We'll layer up and bring flasks of dairy free hot chocolate.

MerlinsButler · 03/12/2024 23:08

We are off to York for the weekend for the Christmas markets. When we get back we are off to a Christmas tree farm to select a tree followed by Christmas movies / carols and tree decorating. Then we will have a beach trip with the dog on 23rd / Christmas Eve and a weekend in wales in the new year to look forward too. - with the dog so lots of wet and windy walks.

We'll be using thermals / waterproofs and cashmere to stay warm and dry and cosy.

Olinguito · 04/12/2024 01:03

Long walks and watching football means that thermal tops and leggings are going to be essential, along with cosy hats, scarves and gloves.

lovemyflipflops · 04/12/2024 09:47

Christmas markets and winter walks to keep the energy levels under control - we all get a bit stir crazy being indoors a lot over winter. - Getting wrapped up and coming home with rosy cheeks is just the best.

Jakc · 04/12/2024 09:54

My daughter and I both have raynauds disease so the cold causes us physical pain. These products look like something we should try on our yearly visit to the Christmas markets and ice skating

FoxInABox · 04/12/2024 14:54

Thermal socks to keep my toes warm - if my feet are warm then I can cope 😂
we have a show planned next week and plan to visit the Christmas markets too and have a Yorkshire pudding wrap. Our DC are too old to visit Santa sadly but we take the dogs to Santa paws in their Christmas jumpers.

burwellmum · 04/12/2024 18:28

Outdoor carol singing and winter walks wearing as many layers as possible

2023ftm · 04/12/2024 19:29

Lots of festive visits to meet Santa with our one year old. He is always nice and toasty in the pram with his foot muff, so I think it’s fair I get thermal socks to keep my feet warm! Once your feet are cold it’s game over!

TinselToed · 04/12/2024 19:35

Going to see our local football team's Boxing Day match is an Xmas tradition for us.

It's always freezing so we wear lots of layers, hat, gloves and thermal socks - and we warm up with a hot drink and sweets at half time!

HelpNeededBeforeIHaveABreakdown · 04/12/2024 19:35

Lots of holiday plans with now adult children, getting together for meals, ice skating, magic show, Christmas markets. I feel the cold so definitely wearing thermals and woolly tights, hat, gloves for outdoor events!

Fisu · 04/12/2024 21:47

I have a festive wreath making workshop with my cousin, a carol concert with a friend, Christmas shopping, hand delivery of as many Xmas cards as possible for my mum to save her some cash on stamps (I call it my annual Santa run!), festive afternoon tea with family this weekend & visits with elderly relatives to deliver cards & parcels & a bit of Xmas cheer & news from the outside world before the big day! So much to cram in & Lots to look forward to🎄🎁🎅🏻❄️☃️

The kids are learning to snowboard this year as they are getting a little past the Santa stage (aged 8 and 10).
I'm a big fan of lots of layers and base layers.

littlecottonbud · 05/12/2024 09:34

Our winter activities would be walking the dogs on the woods near us - tidying up the allotment ready for spring planting, and christmas markets
