For example, we love this Heattech Cashmere Blend T-Shirt which is super soft, extra warm and comes in 6 beautiful colours; perfect for layering on cold days! Here’s what Uniqlo have to say:

Gone are the days of piling on multiple layers to stay warm. HEATTECH represents the pinnacle of Japanese cutting-edge fibre technology. Designed with innovative materials, HEATTECH wicks moisture from the body and converts it into heat, creating warmth with every movement.

Our HEATTECH thermal base layers for children are thoughtfully crafted for comfort and functionality. Featuring cotton for a gentle touch and skin-friendly stitching, these layers are made with stretch fibers to ensure unrestricted movement. The collection offers three levels of thermal insulation: Standard HEATTECH, Ultra Warm, and Extra Warm.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Seems like the vote is closed. Can I still enter? O would have clicked on warm socks.

My plans are for a quiet Christmas this year. Will soon put up the Christmas tree and some decorations.

benjaminjamesandgraham · 11/12/2024 16:09

Thermal vests, and waterproof gloves are a must when we are out in the park - and wellies with wool socks - and thermal insoles when we go out into the park and walks.

Britanniaa · 12/12/2024 08:32

A waterproof coat with hood and wool or thermal lining, and mittens, before we head out into the day when we go to the the Christmas markets.

Kentishbirdlife · 12/12/2024 12:36

Panto, Christmas markets, Christmas Movies, getting some rest!

We keep toasty with lots of layers, we prefer clothes that are light weight and sustainably made. Uniqlo has some great options

ohdannyboy · 12/12/2024 13:47

We love to go to see santa in the local garden centre and to the christmas markets, I always dress mine in thermal vests and a wool blend socks, and wool gloves or mittens.

DinkyDaffodil · 13/12/2024 12:14

We are going ice skating at our Christmas market, and to an open farm where there is a nativity play - getting wrapped up with wool hats gloves and scarfs - we go for layers and a good waterproof coat.

Nitgel · 13/12/2024 13:45

Uniqlo thermal tops are too short. M and s longer.

JacCharlton · 13/12/2024 14:54

We go to the park where there is wildlife to spot, in the woods and on the lake, we'll go there, with wellies, thermals and hats which fasten under the chin to cover the ears.

monkeycat · 15/12/2024 21:49

Our local country park has an ice rink this Christmas so we are going to give that a go! It's good to have something that my teenagers still want to do with me at Christmas and we'll be making sure we are wrapped up warm so we can enjoy it as much as possible.

aldisud · 15/12/2024 22:04

Just bought some heat tech for me and DS. We have been visiting Christmas markets and plan to go to theatre, cinema, eat out, take walks through town and along the river, lots of cooking and drinking hot chocolate and milky teas too. Present wrapping will take up a while.

EmpressaurusKitty · 16/12/2024 07:03

My sister & I have just got back from a Christmassy weekend in Denmark & Sweden enjoying Christmas markets, beautiful lights & even a Santa Claus fun run! We both bought HEAT TECH ultra warm base layers specially for the trip & they made all the difference.

Fancyquickthinker · 16/12/2024 10:06

We love going to the Christmas markets, winter walks - as a way to get rid of energy and get wrapped up whilst I have a meal in the slow cooker to look forward to.

lillypopdaisyduke · 17/12/2024 11:24

We are taking the ferry to Rotterdam to see relatives and will be wrapped up for (hopefully) walks on deck with baraclava hats, thermal vests and thermal long johns - we aim to explore Amsterdam - so gloves and down jackets too.

ButterOllocks · 17/12/2024 13:27

We are planning to go sledging If there is any snow this year - a far cry from the winters when I was a child in the 80's and 90s when there seemed to me snow for days and excellent sledging weather.

Ilostmyhalo · 17/12/2024 17:57

Always put my dc's in thermal vests in winter - they always seem to have playtime with coats unzipped, we are planning to go to Christmas markets and Christmas by the sea in Blackpool where it's freezing by the sea, so hats scarfs and mittens.

purplecheesecat · 17/12/2024 18:36

My DC are in their 20s but all the family will be together over Christmas :) I’m looking forward to having them back home and hearing about their jobs, partners and plans. We’ll be going on a long Christmas Day walk so warm clothes are a must, especially fleece-lined gloves as my hands get deathly cold!

MrsRobert · 17/12/2024 20:53

We enjoyed a family walk before Christmas to see everyone's decorations. I didn't grow up in Scotland and have never got used to the cold and ice. My family wears winter boots, big padded coats, thermals, scarves, hats and gloves! When we get back home we always have a lovely hot chocolate with big marshmallows.

prawncocktailcrispss · 18/12/2024 10:35

We've planned the final Christmas market this weekend (hoping for some discounted items too) with hats, thermal vests, thermal gloves (they hate cold fingers) and winter coats.

youareonlyhereonce · 22/12/2024 08:35

We are going to the church nativity today - it's always freezing in there, so thermals vests and thermal tights and leggings, and gloves. If you're cold at an event it's hard to take your mind off it and enjoy your time whilst attending.

Wake up, presents with my husband then I do the rest of the cooking. His parents come round and bring the meat as I'm vegetarian. The cat has some turkey after begging for hours.
Then have a lovely dinner with my parents stopping by to catch up. Hot chocolate and mulled wine after.

The cat keeps me warm with her snuggles and I also have a uniqlo obsession so wear their cosy joggers, fleece tops and thermal socks.

benjaminjamesandgraham · 27/12/2024 08:59

Going for a walk around the local beauty spot, each of us with a down coat, and Warhol UT Joggers, and I'm wearing my Soufflé Yarn Dress ! my fave purchase.

BlueRidgeMountain · 27/12/2024 20:14

I need all the HEATTECH! DS1 plays football and it gets cold quick on the sidelines. I have handwarmers and the giant sleeping bag coat, but do need better base layers. DS1 likes his walks around the village looking at all the lights and collecting holly in the woods. We’ve had years of Christmas activities at farm parks and other outdoor events and each year I keep saying I’ll get better layers for me!

SugarCookieMonster · 27/12/2024 20:20

We’ve done a few theme park trips this winter so I’ve had to get good at preparing for the cold weather.

Thermal socks (M&S ones are lovely and not thick), thermal tops and leggings under trousers (Matalan has great thin ones). Cotton layers over the top are best. DH and DS(6) wear joggers and I wear leggings. Long coats over the top, the longer the better for sitting on cold benches and rides! I have arthritis in my toe and find that faux fur lined trainers are amazing at keeping my feet cosy in cold weather.

DH wears a fleece snood and I have a long scarf. Hats are important for keeping the heat in, I really noticed the difference when I just wore ear warmers. Gloves with a tech friendly finger bit are a must, especially when at a theme park where there’s lots of photos to take and all the maps are on an app.

Hand warmers are fantastic to have in your pockets out and about and keep warm for hours. DS and I ended up sharing a pair as he got too warm.

It’s lovely to get out of a cold and crisp day without feeling freezing all the time. Plus a hot chocolate in the car on the way home is the perfect end to a fun filled day!

Montydoo · 28/12/2024 13:42

Christmas markets, outdoor carol concerts and nativity plays - all in thermals, high necked jumpers and wool socks and wellies

maryandbuzz1 · 28/12/2024 18:52

Relaxation with my husband doing the cooking. A good walk on Christmas Day and some serious television watching!
