It’s November and we are in peak shopping and deals period of the year. Shopping online can be a great way to save money and find exclusive deals that aren’t available on the high street, but what tips can you share that help you get even better deals online? Perhaps you subscribe to price-drop emails, utilise coupon websites or maybe you have a trusted price comparison tool. Whatever your tips are, please share with us below.

  • Post your tips/hacks in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).
Here’s what Klarna has to say: "It can be expensive buying products online, the prices can vary greatly from one merchant to another. The endless options and deals can be overwhelming and time-consuming to sort through. That's why we've introduced our new search and compare tool, designed to simplify your shopping experience. With this tool, you can spend less time searching and more time saving money - whether you're shopping for electronics, home appliances, fashion or everyday essentials, we've got you covered. Our search and compare tool not only helps you find great deals, but it also shows you how prices have fluctuated over time. This allows you to make an informed decision on whether it's the right time to make your purchase. Shop smarter with the Klarna app and get great value for the money and time you spend."

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Do my research online, use quidco, see if banks have cashback offers, use discount sites/voucher codes, sign up to MSE weekly emails, follow the Christmas bargain thread on mumsnet. Ask myself do I really need it?

BeFrankforonce · 19/11/2023 16:40

Latestdeals.co.Uk and hotukdeals.com if I need to buy a gift.

Kelkoo for electrical and mysupermarketcompare for my shopping

CelticPromise · 20/11/2023 10:18

I use topcashback and Blue Light discounts wherever possible. Google shopping to get an idea of prices. If I don't need something in a hurry I'll wait and keep an eye on it for a while. And I look into supposed "discounts"; sometimes they are just marketing and the product can be had for a better price.

BurntOrange · 20/11/2023 10:24

Kelkoo and Google shopping can work well

jacqui5366 · 20/11/2023 14:53

Google the product then go to the shopping segment and I get the price comparison, money supermarket for my utilities, and insurance annually, and 'Trolley' for supermarkets (I save vouchers from Tesco and Nectar point for Christmas)

Check your emails regularly - including spam for any flash sales - of forthcoming sales to put on your diary - Argos sometimes send vouchers and discounted sale dates.

TealTeaTowel · 20/11/2023 15:09

I love getting a bargain so will use google to search for an item and check the shopping section.

I also use point cards as they quickly add up to money off vouchers- nectar is brilliant for this!

I also check out Vinted/eBay as people will sell items unwanted gifts new for a lot less so best to check on their first.

Get your best price by comparing - then seen of you can get discounts via being referred through Quidco or TopCashback who can give a percentage back on top. Amazon warehouse or refurbished is a good idea too - I have done this several times on phones and an iron with good results

Google Shopping for me

madeinmanc · 21/11/2023 07:22

I use the site "HotUKDeals" and always check there for a good deal before purchasing.

JacCharlton · 21/11/2023 10:18

Google everything - and check my emails for a discount, plus I have all my shopping apps (Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys/Morrisons) to check for member discounts and clubcard prices

I always do a Google search for voucher codes before making a purchase and I have a blue light card so I check that too. Sometimes my bank offers me a certain amount cashback for buying from certain websites too. The website/app hotukdeals is also amazing

grumpytoddler1 · 23/11/2023 21:02

I always search for discount codes and use my workplace discount app, plus topcashback or Quidco. And I have a cashback credit card.

Examplenoone · 23/11/2023 21:09
