It’s that time of the year when Hyde Park transforms into an enchanting wonderland that leaves us all feeling a little more festive. Whether you’ve tackled the ice rink, savoured the delicious street food, or stumbled on a hidden gem at the Christmas market, we’d love to hear your favourite memories.

  • Share your Winter Wonderland memories on the thread to be entered into the prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).
Here’s what Winter Wonderland has to say: For 16 years, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has been spreading the festive spirit for Londoners and tourists alike. With humble beginnings as an open-air Christmas market in Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland has since grown into an extravaganza with ice skating, live performances, roller coaster rides, street food stalls, festive bars and live music.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

The trees sparkling with tiny lights, the street food, the markets with 'different' gifts, and watching families having fun on the ice rink

mindtheGAAP · 11/11/2023 16:50

Love the festive spirit and going ice skating with my kids ❄️

JacCharlton · 12/11/2023 08:53

For us it's just the whole asmosphere it creates with the lights, food, music, rides, it's just the spirit of Christmas. It is costly yes - but you cannot put a price on making memories

Manzana · 13/11/2023 19:24

my son bought me a beautiful Turkish hanging candle holder. Made of ruby red, silver and white glass. Their glorious jewel like stall summed up the whole cosy atmosphere of sparkling glowing lights in the depths of winter.

DinkyDaffodil · 14/11/2023 10:46

I think the hand made craft stalls where you can buy a unique gift, the smell of 'Christmas' in the air from the trees, ice rink and street food - especially the Mulled Wine stalls

chickenpotnoodle · 14/11/2023 10:57

We love the sing along and have booked for Justin's Christmas Singalong (Off peak family) The best thing for me is the whole festive atmosphere of the place - since Covid we celebrate Christmas 100% more

littlepea13 · 14/11/2023 11:53

We love the ice skating, the big wheel and all of the rides, plus of course all the stalls Grin

pushchairprincess · 14/11/2023 14:25

taking my children to see Father Christmas ! The going for a hotdog - whilst walking under the festive lit trees

ohdannyboy · 14/11/2023 15:21

The fairground rides and seeing for miles in the big wheel !

idontlikealdi · 14/11/2023 16:30

Horrendously overpriced mud pit?

Sartre · 15/11/2023 09:56

I remember my Dad taking me as a child and I attempted to ice skate for the first time which did not go well at all! I clung to the edges the whole time and wouldn’t let go so we gave up eventually and he got me a hot chocolate which made me feel better.

Montydoo · 16/11/2023 14:42

Ice skating, going on all the rides, having some food from many food stalls, going through the ice sculpture trail, visiting all the shops...

GoingRoundInOvals · 16/11/2023 15:08

Seeing all the lights surrounding the ice rink means Christmas is on the way!

littlecottonbud · 16/11/2023 16:00

We loved seeing the ice sculptures, the bavarian bar, the fairground rides - expensive but making memories was worth it - especially seeing the big man in his grotto

We’ve not been for a few years but we have some lovely wooden tree decorations that we picked up from there so I’m always reminded of our visit when I put them on the tree.

lovemyflipflops · 17/11/2023 13:23

Watching my son's face when we saw the enormity of the place !

LimeCheesecake · 17/11/2023 21:24

I remember going to it when it was very new - and just a Christmas market, not the whole event thing it is now. we have one of the tree decorations still.

Winter wonderland is a tacky bin fire that makes travelling into central London on the Piccadilly line from mid November onwards a complete nightmare.

Alloveragain3 · 17/11/2023 21:52

Food stalls for sure! Best mulled wine

lalalaheyhey111 · 17/11/2023 22:31

We love Winter Wonderland, it's my family's favourite xmas outing and we go most years. We go off peak mid week and it's perfect as it's not busy. Our favourite memories are about going on the rides, and my kids say the strawberries covered in chocolate stalls are the best.

chickenpotnoodle · 18/11/2023 14:21

The lights, rides, food and hot mulled wine to keep us going.

TaaLaa · 18/11/2023 15:48

Dantes inferno, without the inferno.

voyager50 · 18/11/2023 18:35

In its early days it was a regular family event - the children loved it all

ScarletWitchM · 18/11/2023 23:11

Overhyped and overpriced rubbish. I’ll never go again. It’s a compete waste of money and is not a good event

StarShipControl · 18/11/2023 23:19

We had friends visit the UK from a hot country and they loved Winter Wonderland.
We chose it as a meeting place and all the kids had a fab time going on a couple of rides and having something from the food stalls.
It is expensive so we did tell the dc beforehand that they could choose two rides and one food item.
Ended up being really fun for them.
