Dont style your hair until its 80% dry, then get the round brush out and style away with less damage. 😉

Following. Any hair tips that are also good for the environment? Looking to cut down on plastics.

I wonder if the banana thing works I saw on a thread yesterday. I might try it.

Solid shampoo and conditioner

definitely a heatproof mouse when drying, and heat proof spray to protect before straightening. I know this can damage, but I have naturally coarse hair which needs straightening - and to protect from heat damage really helps the split ends and dryness.

DinkyDaffodil · 29/04/2023 13:59

A DIY caffeine hair mask - 2 teaspoons of coffee to 2 tablespoons conditioner - stimulates the scalp and follicles (advice from a trichologist) - once a week to keep results

Jumanjulia · 29/04/2023 21:31

Osmo Deep moisture mask on Amazon is an utterly barginous tenner for a massive 1200ml tub and it is salon quality . I adore it and cannot believe how good value it is .

If you have very long hair and you are considering getting it cut much shorter, you can donate it to The Little Princess Trust who make real hair wigs for children with cancer. I would like to do this any my hair is in very good condition because I look after it well being mindful that it’s going to this cause. My tip therefore is to make looking after your hair a priority.

Sexisthairdressers · 29/04/2023 21:55

Use olive oil on your hair on a weekly basis. Rub it in, leave for a couple of hours and then wash and condition as normal.

janney3 · 29/04/2023 21:58

Use cold water as a final rinse after washing and conditioning.

Asuwere · 30/04/2023 09:35

Use a microfiber hair turban towel after washing hair, keep it on as long as possible so hair is almost dry and therefore needs minimal use of hairdryer.

Hey leave them alone - if it works for them don't ridicule

I’m not ridiculing, I just don’t get it?! Can anyone explain?

HobNobAddict · 30/04/2023 10:35

My hairdresser recommended aloe vera gel with lemon and peppermint oils, It felt like my scalp was breathing afterwards and would recommend - (leave on a couple of hours)

Newbie2808 · 30/04/2023 10:42

Cold water rinse after shampoo, conditioner and 7 second water. Looks and feels much healthier and makes my hair less greasy which means less washing

ButterOllocks · 01/05/2023 09:18

a little Argan oil - about a half teaspoon in your hand, warm up and work through your hair - makes it super shiny and improves condition.

littlecottonbud · 01/05/2023 12:50

A leave in conditioner to help with brushing long hair, and use a wide tooth brush which does not scrape the scalp

AnchorWHAT · 01/05/2023 16:04

I Wash with a decent shampoo, condition, final rinse in cold water blot with an old cotton teeshirt, add a couple of drops of camellia oil ( or other oil / serum of choice) comb through and leave to dry until %90 dry then wrap in a heatless curler and leave for a few hours or overnight, unwrap and finger comb the curls which last a day or two then relax into lovely waves giving my dry frizzy hair texture and no frizz. I only need to shampoo again after three or four days or when it starts to look greasy or messy.

Perhaps you've embarrassed them into explaining - If they want to buy a big brand - and share the cost - is'nt it a hack ?

Coronilla · 03/05/2023 11:52

Use a deep conditioner / mask before washing. So, apply it to damp, towel-dried hair, wrap in a turban and leave for at least 20 minutes. Then wash (twice) and condition as normal. Any hair mask will do, but I'm currently loving the Garnier Pineapple hair rinse. This technique works brilliantly on my long fine hair - leaves it shiny, bouncy and tangle-free.

I’ve stopped dyeing my mid brown hair copper and now use a temporary colour mousse every month instead. The change in condition is remarkable. It’s also really helping me blend in greys - the colour mousse picks up the greys to give me highlights and blends the lengths of my hair which have been considerably lightened by years of perma dye to give a pretty balayage effect. I’ve saved myself a fortune in hairdressing costs too.

What mousse do you use?

CelerEtAudax · 03/05/2023 19:33

But why would you want to shampoo a banana?

[I'll get my coat.]

Sixmonthson · 04/05/2023 07:38

Once a month or so wash your hair with washing up liquid - it gets rid of all the build up and leaves it shiny and soft. This was a tip from my hairdresser!

bjrce · 04/05/2023 10:19

Massage Coconut oil in your hair for 1 hour prior to washing. Game changer for really dry hair.

The jars of Coconut oil in Aldi / Lidl are perfectly fine.

Hello,

I'm from the Philippines and I have problems with thinning hair due to post partum.

I've been trying to find a reliable hair extensions brand here, but to no avail.
They're cheap looking and really don't blend with my hair.

i am at this point where I want to buy from reliable brands in AU and US. what do you think of this? I have tried so many anti-hairfall shampoo but my hairfall is still getting worse.

Any good brands like this?

I'm hoping this is the end of my search for good hair extensions.

can you recommend any thing for me if you recently bought hair extensions as well?

Choose your parents carefully to ensure good hair genes.

Scalp massage, body volumising leave-in spray (I have very fine hair).

Regular haircuts. Booking your next cut before you leave the salon. Asking your hairdresser to show you how to do two styles. One everyday blow dry and one fancy up-do.
