This activity is now closed

With the summer holidays fast approaching, it’s almost time to spend some much needed quality time with the whole family and for some this means jetting off on holiday. However keeping your DC entertained whilst on holiday can be a bit of struggle especially if your DC has an unlimited amount of energy! Neilson would love you to take a look on their website and choose your favourite holiday activity from their collection, as well as sharing your staple holiday activities.

Here’s what Neilson have to say: “Neilson was born from a passion for all things active, our award-winning beachclub holidays in Croatia, Greece, Italy and Sardinia are packed to the rafters with inclusive activities, from windsurfing to wakeboarding, tennis to mountain biking – all with qualified instructors and free tuition thrown in. We have inclusive kids clubs for all ages from two, right up to 17 years old with activities including kayaking, sailing, tennis and stand up paddle boarding! There’s even a crèche for our youngest guests.”

Which activities would your family love to try and why? Have a look on their website here and let us know on the thread below.

We’d also love to know what your go-to family holiday activities are? Perhaps your family love anything water based such as sailing, kayaking or swimming? Maybe you’re more of a biker family and often hire out bikes for the day to explore or maybe you’re more adventurous and go off-road mountain biking? Or does your family enjoy relaxing on the beach, building sandcastles and soaking up the sun on a lounger?

Tell us which Neilson holiday activities you love the look of, as well as what your go-to family holiday activity is and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

Camping holidays always seem very active - campsites often have no Wi-Fi, LOL!
Instead the children swim, rock-pool, tree-climb, build dens, sandcastles or dams, play rounders, beach-volleyball etc with other children they've just met.

Chapman31 · 25/06/2018 15:40

I’ve always wanted to try windsurfing! We love kayaking and cycling!

queenoftheschoolrun · 25/06/2018 15:56

We'd like to try kayaking. Our holiday activities are: explore, eat, swim, read, sleep and repeat!

TwoGinScentedTears · 25/06/2018 16:07

From the Neilson list it would be windsurfing. In the real world it's swimming and lolling around!

littlemonkeyz · 25/06/2018 17:59

The family mountain bike rides look perfect for our family. We love to be active during our holidays, going for walks, playing football and riding on our mountain bikes in the forest.

79lauren79 · 25/06/2018 19:58

We love anything to do with water, swimming paddling or just meeting about in the back garden with the paddling pool.

theredjellybean · 25/06/2018 22:17

We have done loads of neilson holidays.. Sailing is my favourite activity, used to be followed by tennis but last yr tried sup in Croatia at daybreak on still clear water.. Just magical.

stickladilove · 26/06/2018 06:56

Swimming, cycling and eating are my family favourites

fishnships · 26/06/2018 07:37

Tennis, golf, walks to explore the local area, swimming, horseriding and cycling. Oh, and body boarding which we all love!

OrlandaFuriosa · 26/06/2018 14:18

We all love swimming ( including snorkelling). AD waterskiing and an argument between scuba and kayaking...scuba gets it, just.

Carriemac · 26/06/2018 16:09

Sailing, waterskiing and surfing. And just doing activities together.

MismatchedStripySocks · 26/06/2018 17:39

We really enjoy going for picnics together and swimming. Off to Turkey next month and we will be going to the water park for the day which will be brilliant.

HoneywithLemon · 26/06/2018 20:41

Mountain biking would be lovely. We sometimes hire bikes on holiday. I think the kids would like kayaking or windsurfing too.

lovemyflipflops · 26/06/2018 21:08

we would love to try stand up paddle boarding because it looks such fun family sport to try together, not as difficult as windsurfing, and more fun than beach games, the perfect memory maker !

Theimpossiblegirl · 26/06/2018 22:46

DH and I have both tried SCUBA diving but would love to take the DDs.

BristolMum96 · 27/06/2018 06:37

We love a mix of sports. Swimming, badminton, archery, horse riding
Anything competitive that keeps us occupied and tires us out for a quiet evening!

GhostsToMonsoon · 27/06/2018 09:55

I'd love to do so many of those! Swimming definitely. Also kayaking. I'd like to go scuba diving again as I haven't done that since before having children (when I did a refresher dive in a pool recently, I had forgottten so much).

Our family holiday activities include going to the beach, body-boarding, bike rides and dragging the children on walks. Sometimes I go horse-riding as well.

aggga8 · 27/06/2018 11:13

swimming, playing volleyball on the sand.

joggingrunning · 27/06/2018 15:15

I would love to try the rock climbing. It is so fun to do and helps get you active at the same time.

Sparklyfee · 27/06/2018 16:36

I think I'd head to the spa for some me time instead of Mum time. The boys in my life would love stand up paddle boarding in Croatia 😁. Going to look into this further!

Headfullofdreams · 27/06/2018 19:47

Anything that involves water and keeping cool in the sun. Jumping in lakes/ seas, slides, boats. Followed by lots of lovely local food and wine.

MiniAlphaBravo · 27/06/2018 23:02

Would like to try paddle boarding and dh would say kite surfing... I’m not brave enough though!

Go to activities on holiday would be cycling, swimming, walking, golf.

peanutbutter310 · 27/06/2018 23:04

I love watersports, and have very fond memories of learning to sail dinghies on family holidays. Would love to give DD a taste, and then teach her properly in years to come.

ncullinane · 27/06/2018 23:26

I'd love to try kayaking! We like to enjoy the beach and make sandcastles. Also we love walks and visiting parks and play areas

ponygirlcurtis · 27/06/2018 23:49

Swimming for sure, and DS1 loves going kayaking if he can (DS2 is happy for now with me on a pedalo). I sailed as a child so would love DS1 to try that since he loves being on the water so much.
