NOW CLOSED

It can be difficult to ensure that clothes always smell good - especially if you have messy toddlers or teenagers that leave P.E kit in bags for weeks. Fairy Non Bio would like you to share your tips for making sure your clothes smell great.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “At Fairy Non Bio, we know that even if you have very sensitive skin, you still want that freshly washed smell on your clothes and fabrics. We have perfected our formula on our detergents and fabric conditioner so that you don’t have to compromise on either. We want to know your tips for great smelling clothes!”

Do you have a way of storing your clothes that means they don’t pick up nasty odours between wash and wear? Maybe your family has a laundry routine that prevents clothes from ever reaching a smelly stage? Perhaps you have a favourite product that’s become your family’s signature clothing scent?

Whatever tips for making sure clothes smell great, share them on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Make sure you clean out your machine from time to time, including the door seal and the dispenser drawer.

Purplebutterfly78 · 28/05/2018 15:22

I add about 10 drops of essential oil to the washing machine during the final rinse cycle and store the clothes with scented sachets.

Definitely drying clothes out on the line, so fresh! :)

foxessocks · 28/05/2018 17:07

I have an old perfume bottle opened in my drawers it still has fragrance and makes the clothes smell nice but not too strong

michael888 · 28/05/2018 17:10

Line dried clothes smell the best.

tubbyj · 28/05/2018 17:38

dry the wahing on the line outside

shuggas · 28/05/2018 18:18

Another line drying vote here! It really makes a difference! Oh and I do a good disinfect every so often in the machine too

feefeegabor · 28/05/2018 18:28

You can't beat hanging clothes on the line for that really great smell! I always use soda crystals in my machine and vinegar instead of fabric softener.

JoJoY · 28/05/2018 18:52

I don't like my clothes to be fragranced to use unscented fabric conditioner and line dry my clothes.

arat · 28/05/2018 19:18

Keeping the washing machine nice & clean (and not letting OH get away with putting his washing in once over 3 weeks!)

amyhalliday1 · 28/05/2018 19:50

Always use a fabric conditioner and dry outside x

sammylea80 · 28/05/2018 20:22

I like to line dry when I can if not a nice smelling fabric softener does wonders

compy99 · 28/05/2018 20:42

drying outside on the clothes line, so nice and fresh

towser44 · 28/05/2018 20:55

Febreze crystals in each and every wash!

abby12321 · 28/05/2018 20:58

Wash clothes in a timely manner, use the correct amount of detergent. Pick a detergent with a scent you love! Line dry when able x

sophiefx · 28/05/2018 21:05

I tend to use washing powder, fabric conditioner and scent boosters! Fab!

itsali · 28/05/2018 21:07

I use fabric conditioner and line dry.

socat · 28/05/2018 21:19

use: Washing powder with scent built in and store in drawers / wardrobe to keep fresh.

LeeR1985 · 28/05/2018 21:19

I only fill the drum about 75% so there is room for the clothes to move around and usually throw in some extra powder and fabric softener :)

Ikea1234 · 28/05/2018 21:34

Line dried clothes always smell fresher than tumble dried, and I place my empty fragrance bottles in the drawers to give a subtle scent.

pennwood · 28/05/2018 21:41

When I empty a perfume bottle I always remove the lid and put it in my lingerie drawer so the fragrance covers my underwear.
I always dry my washing outside, and never leave it in the machine once the cycle has finished.

sheard · 28/05/2018 21:52

Line dry as much as possible fresh air with a good wash powder always the best!

IKnowWhenThatHotlineBling · 28/05/2018 21:57

I love a summer-type scent fabric conditioner that especially comes out when you hang your clothes outside!

I also try and avoid musty smells by not over-filling my washing machine, which i have unfortunately had to learn the hard way in the past! xx
