NOW CLOSED

It can be difficult to ensure that clothes always smell good - especially if you have messy toddlers or teenagers that leave P.E kit in bags for weeks. Fairy Non Bio would like you to share your tips for making sure your clothes smell great.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “At Fairy Non Bio, we know that even if you have very sensitive skin, you still want that freshly washed smell on your clothes and fabrics. We have perfected our formula on our detergents and fabric conditioner so that you don’t have to compromise on either. We want to know your tips for great smelling clothes!”

Do you have a way of storing your clothes that means they don’t pick up nasty odours between wash and wear? Maybe your family has a laundry routine that prevents clothes from ever reaching a smelly stage? Perhaps you have a favourite product that’s become your family’s signature clothing scent?

Whatever tips for making sure clothes smell great, share them on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Nothing beats drying clothes outside on the line, the smell is so amazing when dried outside!!

spanglisher · 11/06/2018 01:09

Dry outside. Nothing beats line drying

piggypoo · 11/06/2018 07:21

Once a month, I run a cleaner through the washing machine and wipe the rubber door seals, so there's no lingering smells inside the machine, I don't think it helps putting clothes into a machine which has mould on the inside of the door! It'll prolong the life of your machine too.

I get excited when I can get that washing out on the line as I really believe it makes such a difference. I also love scented conditioners and have had no skin reactions in the family as yet. I also have a hanging rail in my airing cupboard so selected clothes stay hanging up in there and always smell good.

I use those in-wash scent bead things, and tumble drier sheets if they smell a bit musty.

ButtonMoonLoon · 11/06/2018 10:22

Line dried washing is simply the best!
I find the most important thing though, is getting the washing out of the machine asap after the cycle has finished

Doodygirl2009 · 11/06/2018 11:20

Use softener and dry on the washing line

snare · 11/06/2018 11:59

Hang clothes on the washing line :)

Twiglet1983 · 11/06/2018 13:15

We love a lavender fabric conditioner and line drying outside whenever we can.

angela121262 · 11/06/2018 13:28

Use the line not the tumble dryer and conditioner in the washer

noynoyavery · 11/06/2018 15:35

Dry outside, Even use a few drops of essential oil sometimes. Make sure clothes are not left in machine to go musty!

cathryn1 · 11/06/2018 15:46

love to hang the clothes outside to dry - perfect at natures best

tishist · 11/06/2018 17:35

I use bags or sachets of dried lavender or rose in drawers and wardrobes

Blondie1982 · 11/06/2018 19:11

Love Lenor fabric conditioner

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 11/06/2018 19:12

Dry outside- nothing can beat that lovely fresh smell!

suewilly · 11/06/2018 20:48

I pop some bath bombs in the drawer with the socks and knickers. The bath bombs scent the drawers so the undies come out smelling lovely

natalielara · 11/06/2018 22:26

I add a couple of drops of essential oil in the tumbler dryer on an old dryer sheet - you can keep your old dryer sheets and re-use them and the smell lasts much longer x

clarabella12 · 11/06/2018 23:18

drying on the line.

GeorgeW78 · 11/06/2018 23:22

I wash with Fairy Non Bio and line dry as much as possible! Also don't leave clothes festering for ages before washing and cleaning your machine regularly helps cut down on bacteria.

MummyBtothree · 12/06/2018 10:52

cather · 15/06/2018 14:44

I always dry my outdoors

Dannicalifornia · 16/06/2018 17:37

Add a few drops of essential oil to your wash, lemon is nice.

IamReginaFalange · 17/06/2018 15:05

Another one saying drying it on the line and even better in the sun.
I do my washing machine maintenance wash regularly thanks to reading it on here and that helps.
A few drops of zoflora is also good.
