Clothes shopping can be both a pleasure and chore, depending on where you’re shopping and who you’re shopping for! Especially if you’re looking for something nice for a fussy DC. Ted Baker would love you to share your favourite piece from their kidswear range, as well as letting us know which qualities you look for when selecting clothing for you and your DC.

Here’s what Ted Baker has to say: “Ted’s new kidswear collection is designed for little scamps of all ages, from bouncing babies to older boys and girls developing a passion for fashion. With a focus on bright, beautiful colours and stylish prints, B by Ted Baker will ensure your little one is the best dressed in the playground, with practical finishing touches for easier adventures (and machine washable fabrics for easier cleaning!). Whether it’s the perfect party look or something stylish for every day, Ted has thought of an outfit for every occasion.”

Which items caught your eye and why? Check the website and post a link to your faves on the thread below.

We would also love to know what you look for when out clothes shopping for yourself or your DC? Maybe your main concern is for durability and ensuring that those jeans last through numerous knee-slides? Perhaps it’s price? Or finding an outfit that fits perfectly? Do you have a seasonal colour scheme that you stick to religiously, or are you much more interested in comfort?

Tell us which qualities you look for in the ideal outfit, as well as posting a link to your favourite item from the Ted Baker kidswear range and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Ted Baker voucher. Ted Baker will also be giving 3 MNers the chance to win their favourite kidswear item!

Thanks and good luck!

This is beautiful x

I really like THIS

I hate that younger girls are often limited in the pants/shorts type things you can buy, dresses just aren't as practical when they are learning to crawl and walk and usability is definitely more important to me than cute factor!

Easy clean, stylish, soft and comfortable material of the clothes are the main features that I always consider for my little man. He refuses to wear any clothes that only have the look but without comfortable material. No doubt I would choose this eye catching Cotton ice lolly T-shirt and shorts set for him, the link is here:
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/BOBBUIL-Cotton-ice-lolly-T-shirt-and-shorts-set-Assorted/p/151988-ASSORTED
This cute set has his favourite ice lolly prints and favourite colour, which is definitely his favourite item. Perfect for leisure holidays and playground play days!

I look for practical but pretty for DC and this outfit fits the bill perfectly www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALYSE-Cotton-frill-top-and-leggings-set-Yellow/p/151867-YELLOW

GetKnitted · 26/05/2018 22:01

Was I looking at the site wrong. Only 13 items in the older boys range?

This was hands down my favourite ...

I love this set www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/PIPPN-Cotton-hoodie-and-joggers-set-Navy/p/151934-NAVY

My 2 year old is such a night owl and I often end up taking him for walks in the evening to try to wear him out! In the spring/summer months a nice cotton jogger set would be ideal to keep him snug.

My top tip is to buy a really lightweight outfit that can be scrunched up in your bag and used as an emergency spare without it taking up too much space.

There were only 7 items in DD’s age range, I liked 5, but this was my favourite. It wouldn’t fit DD though as at age 10 she is wearing age 13-14 clothes depending on cut.

I would never pay those prices either. They are not aimed at your average person, but people with money.

sprinklesandsauce · 27/05/2018 15:33

Forgot to say, what I look for in kids clothes is price and quality. TU do some fabulous kids clothes which last and are a decent price. When DC grow so fast you don’t want to spend a fortune.

Love these blue shorts
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/KNGLION-Belted-printed-cotton-chino-shorts-Blue/p/151941-BLUE

Biggest priority for my boys is comfort so elasticated waists, cotton and jogger material!

LostMyBaubles · 27/05/2018 17:25

We are a sucker for blue in this house. Well me and dh lol
Love it on our dc.

I saw this www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/TIGGERE-Cotton-polo-shirt-Turquoise/p/152109-TURQUOISE
And instantly fell in love.
I know its turquoise but its a shade of blue right??

We do also go for comfort and that piece looks like it will tick the box! A nice classic polo perfect for Eid!

Pinklady1981 · 27/05/2018 18:40

Ted Baker is fab quality for the price. I don't mind paying more if it's durable especially with boys! www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/PEPPAP-Pull-out-hood-panelled-jacket-Navy/p/151944-NAVY
This jacket has caught my eye for my toddler especially with the unpredictable uk weather. Super stylist for the younger kids 👍🏻😀 comfort is very important when kids are on the go all the time.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALYSE-Cotton-frill-top-and-leggings-set-Yellow/p/151867-YELLOW
My dd would look lovely in this although not sure how long the leggings would stay white! I look for a good price and also that clothes wash well, don't shrink or go misshapen.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALANTI-Cotton-dress-and-headband-set-Yellow/p/152153-YELLOW

I love this. Really pretty and 'girly' without being pink which makes such a nice change!

As for what I look for in kids clothes, if I'm honest it would have to be price and design. I like my DDs to look nice but they're quite boisterous, and so tend to ruin clothes quite easily, so I try to avoid spending too much money on their clothes.

llamaparades · 27/05/2018 20:38

We love this panelled jacket as it is very practical, a good colour as it won't get filthy whilst playing outside whilst at the same time still fashionable and modern.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/PEPPAP-Pull-out-hood-panelled-jacket-Navy/p/151944-NAVY

When I go shopping for clothes for my 2 year old boy I like to find stylish outfits that are comfy, easy to move around in, that will last and are good quality.

TracyKNixon · 28/05/2018 05:57

I love the chareta jumpsuit

I like these shorts www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/HPOTTA-Belted-cotton-chino-shorts-Light-Pink/p/151942-LT-PINK but I'm not sure I could get my son into them despite my better efforts to avoid stereotypes

tabbaz123 · 28/05/2018 07:22

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/TIMTOP-Cotton-polo-bodysuit-Turquoise/p/151918-TURQUOISE I have a bit of a thing at the moment for these as they are practical and always look so smart - Just wish they did a long sleeve version

fuzzywuzzy · 28/05/2018 07:33

love this , love the print and the material DD likes to walk/toddle and as she’s fairly new to walking dresses and skirts tend to get caught in her legs when she’s tumbled over or goes from a sitting position to a standing one. The safely poppered bit would cover her nappy as she currently takes great delight in taking her nappy off and running away. And I love the little hat with it as she still has patchy hair and very fair skin so would avoid sunburn on her head.

AngelwingsPetlamb · 28/05/2018 09:03

I love this skater dress, it’s pretty but practical and very versatile too www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CARRLEN-Skater-dress-Yellow/p/151848-YELLOW
Versatility is important when choosing clothes because dc grow so quickly it’s more cost effective to buy clothes that can be worn for different occasions.
Quality over quantity every time.
