The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

Thankyou for the fantastic site amazing products able to test. We loved testing the disney snacks and the ketchup. Looking forward to the smash Robinson on coming through. Next year would love to test kids toys or new food products.

gd2011 · 27/12/2017 13:30

I would like to product test a stand mixer

xcxcsophiexcxc · 27/12/2017 13:45

Would love to product test some toddler items next year !

Sid98 · 27/12/2017 13:45

I have enjoyed taking part in the surveys

Scoleah · 27/12/2017 13:52

Our most handy test was the Lidl's nappies! (Even though they came very late & without warning, I think everyone had forgotten they had signed up!) but great timing as my son had been ill and had an upset stomach! And the nappies were fantastic! Converted us! Grin

And the Jimjams chocolate spread, Mmm jar didn't last long though!

I'd love to see handy cool Gadgets like the Ring doorbell (don't know why I think that's cool) and the Yale lock for smartphones! Ones that would be really useful in real life too!

sjonlegs · 27/12/2017 13:58

I've appreciated so many great things on Mumsnet this year. I love the emails which give Mumsnet recommends (so many great products) and I've enjoyed reading books and reviewing. I loved doing the Soreen sharing and reviewing - not least because it made my Dad's year when I gave him a handful of leftover bars (Soreen is an old favourite from his childhood and whilst his memory fails him - his enjoyment of Soreen most definitely hasn't!)!

I think one of the best things that I've gained from Mumsnet this year is the friendship, good humour and feeling of solidarity. Some great shares on here - the message boards frequently have me roaring with laughter!

So - I'd say just far more of the same! I'm up to testing edibles, drinkables, readables, playables, usables, etc, etc.

What I'd really like to see is ideas to entertain and pacify/amuse my 14 year old son - who has profound medical and complex special needs. I frequently resort to baby toys/foods, etc, for him, but a lot of the toys/equipment just aren't durable enough!

Keep up the good work Mumsnet - I for one don't know what I'd do without you!!

Here's to another fabulous year! Smile

SuzCG · 27/12/2017 16:31

I love, love, love being part of the Mumsnet Community - when I've sometimes felt quite alone or lost at times in this 'job' you have been a source of company, advice and laughs.
The kids very much enjoyed being part of the Birds Eye Chicken test this year and enjoyed the chance to cook up some simple teas and test them out. I've enjoyed being part of the book club testers and have had the chance to read some super books.
I look forward to seeing each week what fellow Mums are buying and recommending and my absolute favourite email each week is the highlights from the threads - which never fails to make me laugh out loud. There are some very funny Mums out there!
Don't want to seem greedy and be asking for any huge product tests, I honestly am always happy to be selected - but a slow cooker would be very welcome here! Failing that - gin? No, seriously, anything at all - the more diverse the better. Just wish I lived closer to London and could get involved in more of the many things that seem to happen there.

Best wishes Ann as you move on to pastures new - hope the new year brings all the new challenges you are hoping for.

And to everyone else - Happy New Year - may it be full of love and laughter - the only two things we really need in this job!

Fanciedachange17 · 27/12/2017 17:37

I would love to test a 50cm oven.
Or a slow cooker
Or an electric car!

Very grateful for the book I received, enjoyed and reviewed. Love reading. Happy to try out new wool and knitting. Just generally happy really!

Thank you to Mumsnet and some of the wise, funny and entertaining threads. I've laughed a lot this year and worried for some as well.

MumzieMel · 27/12/2017 17:59

Opportunity to test family friendly cars, SUV, estates etc, would be useful for any families looking for a new car or new parents looking for family friendly. Anything which makes daily chores quicker so premium brand vacuums and carpet cleaners, cleaning companies and appliances like washing machines, dryers, cooking appliances.

juju3 · 27/12/2017 18:34

Would love to test toys - the little darling is so fussy

rhinosuze · 27/12/2017 18:35

I enjoy reading what you all think of things, helps me decide whether to buy or not

Lisapaige24 · 27/12/2017 18:54

dadshere · 27/12/2017 19:36

I would love to test a hoover that actually picks up dog hairs! My dog is a walking hair machine!

KatnissMellark · 27/12/2017 20:01

I would love to test a home/family organisation app, bone conductor headphones, Innovative house selling concept or similar!

Loopy9 · 27/12/2017 20:02

I enjoyed the Birds Eye chicken tasting, we still enjoy making the chicken wraps.

I’d like to test any kitchen gadgets, any services that make my life easier! New technology for tweens. I’d love to test a car too! Bikes, holidays and foodie trials all very welcome too! A garden service or architect service would be great to try too!

Keep up the good work and best of luck with your new adventures Smile

RACHELSMITH45 · 27/12/2017 20:04

I'd love to product test a pram suitable for older/taller children. My little boy has hypermobility and experiences pain after a long time walking. I'd like to get an idea of what might be a good one to invest in!

Teaspoon74 · 27/12/2017 20:13

Enjoyed testing the paint and the Aveeno baby cream. Finding the GPDQ trial a bit frustrating!

Would love to test something consumer electronic- like a hair removal device or wireless headphones or some kind of home organiser/internet of things device!

sarah861421 · 27/12/2017 20:21

2017 has been a good ( and bad ) year . My son graduated, my 20 th wedding anniversary, and a new job to start next week but chronic financial problems and a near bankruptcy. hope next year is better

cherylann2461 · 27/12/2017 20:32
