The team at Aunt Bessie's would love to know all about your Sunday Roast Rituals - what makes a roast dinner go down well in your house? What's the key tip, trick, ingredient or essential item which makes that meal particularly successful? Does your family always sit down at the table? Is Sunday the one day you always insist on everyone being home to eat? And what do you dish up for vegetarians or anyone with specific dietary needs? Do you have roast potatoes even when it's not a Sunday?

Aunt Bessie's say "Aunt Bessie’s recognises how difficult it is these days to get the family together - that’s why mealtimes, and particularly the Sunday Roast, are so important. We’re proud to announce that our Homestyle roast potatoes are Mumsnet Rated*, following testing by members of the site. So whether you whip them out for the Sunday Roast or use them to spice up a meal during the week, give Aunt Bessie’s roasties a try today and see how long you can keep the kids at the table!"

Add your ritual or tip for a great Sunday Roast below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck

Parboil the roasties to get them really crispy! And make extra everything for sandwiches :)

Emmamaryd · 31/10/2017 09:01

Use fresh ingredients where possible i.e. Homemade Yorkshire puddings, homegrown veg.

vincenta · 31/10/2017 10:02

Good quality meat is a must for successful and tasty roast.

ilovekitkats · 31/10/2017 11:53

Always cook loads of roasties, Yorkshire puddings with all roasts not just beef. And lots of thick gravy

TheEmmaDilemma · 31/10/2017 12:01

Cook lots of extra roast pots and veg. Then Mon/Tues bung it all in a casserole dish with stock/gravy, heat through and serve is a massive AB Yorkshire Pud!!

piggypoo · 31/10/2017 12:23

We always make the gravy using the vegetable water, so it's delicious, and we make our own apple sauce with apples from the garden, on a pork dinner, you can't beat the taste of home made sauce!

I use aunt bessies roasties but don't cook them to the instructions.

I chuck them in the meat tin with the roast to take in all the meat juices, then pull them out and pop them on a baking tray to crisp up for half an hour. They taste amazing.

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 31/10/2017 12:37

Make stuffing balls in a mini muffin tin, perfect portions and crispy, just as the family like them!

peronel · 31/10/2017 14:00

Good yorkshire puddings - Mary Berry's recipe, hot fat (I use lard), foolproof!

VickyRsuperstar · 31/10/2017 16:23

We love Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings and have them all the time. They taste fantastic and so much easier than preparing my own! I always make extras, but no matter how many I make, the kids always eat the lot! Too tasty for leftovers!

Our ritual is that my husband slaves away all day in the kitchen, cooking all the dinner, then I swan in at the last minute and make the gravy, stealing all the glory, cos his gravy has to be sliced with a meat cleaver!

cheekylittledevil · 31/10/2017 18:31

We always make too much so we have leftovers on Monday. And I always have a glass of wine while cooking the Sunday dinner!

emmmaaa26 · 31/10/2017 21:00

Let someone else do it lol and it won't be ruined that way.

slbhill42 · 31/10/2017 21:42

get the potatoes and veg ready ahead of time if possible, and don't forget the pudding!

lolamia91 · 31/10/2017 22:30

par boil and rough up the potatoes for ultimate crispiness!
