Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

Eagle....always planning ahead

wonkylegs · 26/09/2017 07:14

Bear - but another one who struggled to answer the questions
Baby proofing - hmm apart from moving obvious risks we haven't done much
Nightmares - depends on which child and how old
I don't do soft play voluntarily
Falling over in the park - I have plasters but will also joke or distract

I don't have stock reactions for situations, I tend to parent according to what child it is (they are both completely different) and the situation at the time.

'you are a bear, you find yourself disappointed with mumsnet's trite sexist survey and have never felt the need to bleach anythingin 6 years of parenting'

bubbleybooboo · 26/09/2017 08:28

Result: Eagle

The eagle mother always has an eye on what's about to happen. Going to rain? You always got a brolly in your bag. Got the sniffles? Here's a hankie. You're also brilliant at watching out for your children from a distance.

I'm a bear, Mamma Bear to be exact, I can live with that :)

sashh · 26/09/2017 09:51

Eagle? No chance I should have been a cat, probably a leopard.

becky004 · 26/09/2017 10:04

I'm a bear, and it's so true!

beckyinman · 26/09/2017 10:12

I'm a Lion apparently - I would love to sleep all day like a lion does!

Moodykat · 26/09/2017 10:14

I got Bear too. I didn't really mind the questions but what "Dettol has to say" above makes me want to vomit. DH is a lot more safety conscious than I am!

NextIndia · 26/09/2017 10:20

I'm an Eagle. 5 DC. Makes sense.

Holliewantstobehot · 26/09/2017 10:26

I'm a bear. Quite like that actually. Smile.

ameswright2906 · 26/09/2017 10:32

I'm an eagle - brilliant at watching the kids from a distance

Oblomov17 · 26/09/2017 10:51

Eagle.
Really annoying survey.
no I didn't baby proof my house at all, because I didn't think it needed it. where was that option?

daniel1996 · 26/09/2017 11:01

I am a bear, I think sensible, and not too overprotective but still a it hands on.

frances93 · 26/09/2017 12:10

A bear 🐻

mollymoo818 · 26/09/2017 12:22

I am a Lion apparently which isn't what I thought that I would get but the description sounds pretty much like me.
