Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

omgitslani · 09/10/2017 20:53

I got Bear. That seems about right!

baconbap · 09/10/2017 21:34

babyloi · 09/10/2017 21:34

Apparently I'm a monkey! Every monkey I've seen at the zoo picks fleas off their little ones . . . I draw the line at that!!!

colleenw · 09/10/2017 22:01

Amaksy · 09/10/2017 22:09

FrenchieMum2Be · 09/10/2017 22:14

I'm an eagle apparently... I do like to be ready for most situations :)

katieskatie82 · 09/10/2017 22:18

ElizaW922 · 09/10/2017 22:20

An elephant mother - wise and great at remembering things - I'll settle for that! :-)

lolamia91 · 09/10/2017 22:55

Result: Monkey

DiWoo · 10/10/2017 00:17

I got Elephant, but can't see the descriptions of the other animals to know if that's right or they can just see me in my grey PJs through the laptop!

upthehammers · 10/10/2017 02:09

Bear ... though i had to just pick an answer for some of them as none of them were relevant - does everyone really go mental over babyproofing? i made sure there was nothing dangerous in their way but other than that left them to it, can't go bubblewrapping everything through life for them!

ps - what's my parenting style got to do with me as a friend?!

Katyazamo · 10/10/2017 02:18

The quiz revealed me to be an eagle and I do like to have an eye on what is likely to happen and be prepared - just wish I could fly as well!

I'm an eagle!

VickyRsuperstar · 10/10/2017 10:34

I'm an eagle. I'm usually well prepared (proper first aid kit in the car and stuff in my bag), but I am trying to train my kids to have some independence and to learn to think for themselves and handle situations as that's all part of growing up. My kids are aged 3-17 so a lot of different ages and stages of development too.
