Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

An Eagle!! Can't argue with that!! When I had my first child I was eagerly prepared - I probably bought everything early on and had it ready for when they reached that mile stone. By the time child number 5 came I am really not that different - just more relaxed. I don't have all the equipment because I have come to realise you just don't need it. I do still have the plasters in my handbag though!! Older but Wiser!!

Apparently I'm a elephant! I don't necessarily feel like I'm as organised as the description suggests!

ha2el · 03/10/2017 14:10

A Bear. I agree that I am not the loudest or most outgoing person but will step up to parenting challenges.Yes I do like the familiar, and it is true that when people get to know me I am a good friend. I'm pleasantly surprised that the summing up was true to me!

PorridgeAgainAbney · 03/10/2017 20:31

Erm, hello Dettol - you do know it's 2017 don't you? What is my husband's role while I'm busy protecting our son? Or will he appear in the next campaign making a hilariously poor attempt at cleaning by mistaking my favourite cashmere top for an e-cloth?
Good grief. I'm a bear (and I need 300 quid).

DartmoorDoughnut · 03/10/2017 20:41

Another Bear here, quite a few of us on MN

smit39 · 03/10/2017 21:04

ScaryMary81 · 04/10/2017 00:10

I got bear - funny as I've always called myself mummy bear and ds baby bear - although at age 6, I stopped as it "is embarrassing" 😂

angiehoggett · 04/10/2017 08:58

I'm an elephant! It sounds like a good description to me.

BL0SS0M · 04/10/2017 12:29

MonkeysStoleMyBanana · 04/10/2017 12:37

Bear. Sounds about right!

Firecarrier · 04/10/2017 13:02

Monkey

But question 2 was stupid as all the 'options' were essentially the same ie. Babyproof the house

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/10/2017 13:25

I got “There was an error and there is no application layout in which to render it. The error reference is 32feb5f0a. Give this to the system administator and ask them to create at least one layout for system ID 1”
Confused

holdthewine · 04/10/2017 14:45

Yet another bear here.

Royalsteph · 04/10/2017 15:01

I'm an eagle. But I I had difficulty choosing some of the answers, as my answer would have been different. Oh well.

Starwhisperer · 04/10/2017 15:17

Elephant!
