We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

Baby wipes - almost half the price of other brands but just as good.
Apple turnovers from the bakery - every time I visit lidl at least one accidentally ends up in my basket.
Mixed nuts -DP is addicted!
Ritter Sport chocolate - first discovered in Germany. So excited I can buy it here!
Hazelnut cream cookies
Cherries - I like how you can choose just how many you want to buy.

The children's clothes. I've not yet picked up anything that I've been disappointed with. Dd's pinifores for school from lidl look better than the ones from tesco despite being washed and worn the same amount of times! I will be getting out early again next year when school uniform is released. Ds had mesh vests this summer that kept him cool nicely and the only pair of trousers that fit his frame well are lidl thanks to the properly fuctional button adjustment. The button up all in one flannel baby pjs were amazing when he ended up having multipul hospital stays and needed probes on his feet. Have also adored the thick fluffy all in one coat he could actually use in the sling as the feet folded over rater than being sewen up. Oh and the waterproof trousers and flashing wellies and lovely jumpers. I always regret not buying more!

The kids range of fruit and veg has made dd more willing to try new bits when she's picked out 3 things to get 20% off.

Sad that ds's body shape doesn't fit the nappies as they were fab when dd used them.

The purple pack of cheese that dh is addicted to.

The choice of breads and wraps.

The own brand hazel nut bars are dangrous!

Just bought this at my local lidl. I'm in rural Scotland with limited shopping options and lidl is the place where I can often find new fruit and veg that I haven't seen anywhere else before.

The Lidl electric toothbrush is the best! I prefer it to my expensive Oral B one by far!

TheDailyWail · 21/09/2017 18:10

Their mini cucumbers - dd calls them snozcumbers!

Jars of peppers, wafer biscuit, neopolitan icecream sandwiches. Yum!

avamiah · 22/09/2017 01:28

I love their steaks, they are the best value for money and taste amazing.I usually buy the 2 pack of sirloin steaks and then head over to the vegetable counter for mushrooms and broccoli and tomatoes.
That's my dinner ,grilled steak, pan fried mushrooms, steamed broccoli and grilled tomatos.
My favourite meal from Lidl.

TorNayDoh · 22/09/2017 12:20

The stollen bites don''t last long in this house! Or the chocolate, or gin...

teenagetantrums · 22/09/2017 17:02

I like the jars of olives. Half the price of other supermarkets and very nice. Thier shower gel and face wipes, are good . I like thier meat as,someone already said steaks are good. Always, get avocados and prawns when I'm in lidl . Very tasty and good value. Bakery goods are nice.

Firstly, I absolutely LOVE the Maribel Thin Cut Marmalade - Its absolutely delicious and I beg my husband to grab me a few jears when he nips out lol. However, the breakfast cereals (the recent winner is the Simply Sumptuous Strawberry Crisp) has impressed the most. My kids are so fussy, but recently on a trip away we came across a Lidls, and needed to grab some cereal for Grandmas house as we were staying a few days, and the kids all moaned when they realised their favourite brand wasn't there, however, once they had tried Lidls own brand, they have since said they won't have anything else....
I mean, they will if I told 'em to lol, but they really really enjoyed it! We love Lidls stuff! x

Top find for me? The beautiful flowers- excellent prices and last well, my favourite are the roses.

akindredspirit · 22/09/2017 21:02

We love the pecan and maple plaits from the instore bakery. The loose cashew nuts are gorgeous but it is cheaper to buy packets I've discovered. Fresh fruit and vegetables are fantastic value too.

HalimaB · 22/09/2017 21:38

The baby range. Nappies and wipes are great value

Kr1s · 22/09/2017 22:15

I can recommend the tiny climbing plants that they sell in the spring. They cost about £1.80 and dont look much, just a stick with a few leaves. But if you pot them on and plant out when they are a little bigger in May , they will quickly clothe your walls, fences and shed with colour. Works even in the tiniest of gardens/ back yard / passageway - in fact vertical surfaces are even more important in a tiny space.

This week Lidl have winter bedding plants ( pansies and heuchera ) which will look lovely in a large pot at the front door or on a balcony. Also they have ready planted larger containers for a tenner ( makes a nice gift and will last much longer than a bunch of flowers) .

In a few weeks they will stock hyacinths and indoor daffodils which I will plant up in nice pots and give to the kids teachers / Brown Owl / swimming coach etc at Christmas. Inexpensive and always appreciated.

I shopped at Lidl once a week and i love all of their products. They're cheap and even good quality for money.Always grab my weekly bouquet and some bakery for my kids who love them.Large varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables are always on our shopping list as with Lidl help we always eat healthy.
But the product that i love the best is the baby wipes " Toujours "....Omg these are so good, strong and good value for money compared to other brand. My youngest daughter uses these a lot.Love the flap cover, its a must...a total win for us :)

LouiseJayne23 · 23/09/2017 07:25

Their shampoo! For a post-pregnancy hair-falling-out-dandruff-filled scalp it's amazing! I used to be a shampoo snob, but since picking some up as an emergency whilst out baby shopping and deciding that some sort of clean hair was better than none, I was shocked to find that it was actually really good and I now choose it over anything else! For the first time in my life I also finished the shampoo & conditioner at the same time... there's nothing more satisfying than that! Grin

I love the cherries in a jar, delicious and perfect for a fruit tart. Also the nuts are always wonderfully fresh and the Cien body lotion is excellent.

themammafairy · 23/09/2017 08:33

Without a doubt the kids ski trousers - we are an outdoor loving family and we use these for the kids out on the farm, they keep them warm and comfortable

GinAndSonic · 23/09/2017 09:53

I buy almost everything in Lidl.
The mini cucumbers are great for kids lunchboxes and I love the bakery bit

mamma2016 · 23/09/2017 09:57

Love the doughnut peaches they have throughout the summer; so sweet and so cheap!
The cookies and pain au chocolate from the bakery are delicious.
Love my 100% cotton bed sheets and baby's vests and leggings from the middle aisle.

withiceandaslice · 23/09/2017 12:10

Our nearest is a bit far so I don't get to go often. Around Christmas I stock up on anything unusual and a bit special looking - pate, fudge, interesting flavoured nuts, cheese biscuits etc to give in a hamper to my father in law (who can be difficult to buy for).

Also love the flowers.

nerysw · 23/09/2017 12:35

The lovely fresh baked bread

dramallamakarma · 23/09/2017 12:46

I'm currently dressed head to toe in Lidl maternity wear... in fact I'm going back this afternoon for a midi dress in another colour.

Leggings come up a bit large around the leg & I don't have skinny legs (bought 14/16 & im a pre pregnancy 14) but the top is a fantastic fit & good quality for the price.

Thanks Lidl I was trying to make do with what I already had with not long left but I don't need to now!! Grin

Starfish83 · 23/09/2017 16:32

Place-marking. Great thread! 😀

katiej12 · 24/09/2017 07:56

Lidl conditioner. Absolutely life changing - less than half the price of what I used to use and so much nicer on my hair. I can't tell you how dubious I was (in fact only tried it as forgot mine on a week away with some friends) and how wrong I turned out to be!
