We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

I always get baby nappies from there and no longer use other leading brands.

I love the goats cheese focaccia. Makes a meal in itself for Ds.
Last year I bought ds a waterproof jacket and trousers for £4 each, amazing quality. I will definitely buy in smaller sizes for ds 2 if I see them again. I also like the cheese twirlers, less than half the price of cheese strings and great for snacks. Fruit King squeezy yoghurts are great too, baby ds can feed himself with no mess while I eat my own lunch.

The chunky breaded fish! And Ginger Biscuits, they're my absolute favourites.

Almost anything is great, love lidl
Personal favourite is the baklava

MunchyMunchkin · 16/09/2017 21:33

The food during Spanish week is incredible.

mayathebee · 16/09/2017 21:53

I love Lidl's scottish mussels in white wine sauce! They are delicious and just perfect paired with some Rowan Hill Bakery seeded white bread.

The mini stollen at xmas time, little nuggets of marzipan amazingness

RiceButt · 16/09/2017 22:47

The cheese twists are to die for. Best cheese twists I have ever tasted.

The snack size cucumbers and other baby vegetables are great for packed lunches and I treat myself to a 29p doughnut.

Davenotdave · 17/09/2017 11:42

The chilled ready rolled pastry is brilliant for making pinwheels for my little one, or pastry for my oh lunch box

nonnyno · 17/09/2017 12:01

A few yeas ago I found a drying rack which fits onto a radiator, in Lidl. it didn't revolutionise my life, but it has been very, very useful.

Tins of Tuna and tins of Anchovies are amazingly cheap at LiDL in comparison to Waitrose (the shop that the senior partner insists I go to for Prosecco. She wouldn't be seen dead in LiDL, but I love it)

I like the quirky things you can buy. Bike lights are always good value. And they sometimes do cycling jackets that are amazingly cheap. Some things appear one week - like a laminating machine - they they're never seen again. So you have to snap them up or they're gone.

Mind you, I did buy some castors once on an impulse buy but I've never found a use for them.

So many great products! The gnocchi and fagottini with porcini and truffles, the alcoholic ginger beer ( less sweet than other brands), Black Forest ham, the fresh bakery selection, the chocolate, fennel seed salami, excellent beef...
And my cat absolutely loves the salami style stick treats!

Loftzilla · 17/09/2017 14:12

I love the giant jars of gherkins! The gherkins are great and the jars are perfect for storing rice and pasta!

glmcall123 · 17/09/2017 16:30

Lidl's Classic dishwasher tablets have saved me a fortune, they're as good as any brand I've tried and so much cheaper.

alison991 · 17/09/2017 16:51

Love lidl. Their range of sandwich meats is great, always something we like

FoodstuffFinds · 17/09/2017 18:04

I love the Harvest Basket 4 Ready Baked Potatoes. I keep some in the freezer as they come in for an emergency meal, just add baked beans and grated cheese!

Freeedom · 17/09/2017 19:05

Their soya milk is half the price of other brands - and just as good. I stock up every time I go in, as we get through a good deal of it. Also their porridge oats - we are trying to cut back on plastic as much as possible and apart from the big brands that come in cardboard boxes, everywhere else I've found only sells in plastic packaging - Lidl's comes in a paper bag - brilliant. And very very cheap too. I am a total convert to Lidl. Need more dairy-free treats like chocolate. I've heard they do a dairy-free ice cream but I've not found it yet.

We love the freshly baked in store bakery stuff, donuts are amazing

Chestnut24 · 17/09/2017 19:35

I find the Cien Pampering Bath Creme - Silk & Magnolia extracts - at 59p to be the most luxurious and comforting bath creme I have had, ever! Better than any premium brand!

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 17/09/2017 19:42

My favourites are the all in one dishwasher tablets - great value and work so well! Pull up pants are a bargain, espresso coffee tins are fab, particularly when on offer - absolute bargain for really nice coffee. Our local store had kalettes earlier in the year - delicious. Also had some nice meat recently - we tried Ostrich which tasted like venison. My best ever Lidl purchase was a hand held rechargable hoover which worked really well for years. Also love the stuffed vine leaves... mmmm

TiggersAngel7774 · 17/09/2017 20:02

hubby loves the coffee syrups same price as branded stuff but bottle 3 times the size.
Gutted they seemed to have stopped glazed donuts as my son thought them just as good as krispy kreme ones

maursieq · 17/09/2017 20:06

the Linessa fruit yoghurts - best there is

matphil · 17/09/2017 20:06

I love the sausage rolls from Lidl as they are filled full of sausage meat unlike others which have more pastry than meat.
I also love the beans as they are nice and soft when cooked.

feefeegabor · 17/09/2017 20:14

I love Lidl's Greek Yoghurt with Strawberries - it's the best around!
