In light of the release of The Emoji Movie at Cinemas on August 4 (previews August 2 & 3), Sony Pictures would like to hear about the moments when your children haven’t been able to contain their emotions.

Here’s what Sony Pictures has to say: “The Emoji Movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – except for Gene (T.J. Miller), an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Anna Faris). Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever.”

See the trailer for The Emoji Movie below:

The Emoji Movie is at Cinemas August 4 (previewing on August 2 & 3). Find out more about The Emoji Movie on Facebook.

My 3 year old arrived in Disney World Paris and saw Elsa from Frozen. She is a huge fan of the film and when the character came up to her and kissed her on the cheek she wet herself quite obviously as it was pooling at her feet. She was so excited lol The actress playing the part was so great and totally ignored it all. My little one was hopping from foot to foot lol

I left DD watching The Tigger Movie and went to make lunch. When I came back she was in floods of tears over poor Tigger's lack of a family.
DD is quite empathetic.

stabbybitch · 17/07/2017 09:47

My DD is a cryer when she's angry (like me). When she was small she and couldn't tie a up the necklace she had made and got pretty angry when all of a sudden she burst into tears but within 1 minute she's shouting "why am I crying I'm angry not sad" which made her more upset!

My eldest son has a terribly expressive face and when he's happy it's almost as if light beams were shining out from his face.

He was recently chosen to be a volunteer at a dinosaur show (put his head in the jaws of an animatronic dinosaur type thing) and the joy in his face was almost too much for me to handle! I've printed out the picture and framed it as it make me smile every time I see it.

As a foster mum my own two homegrown have really been through a lot emotionally and secondary trauma can rear its head at any time.....One time I will never forget was when my son (who outwardly appears cool and calm 99% of the time) came to me and asked to chat. He sat down on the sofa and suddenly an outburst of emotions from anger to frustration and finally tears came flowing out as he told me that it has dawned on him how lucky we are as a family and how unfair life has been to many that have come into our care! He had tears of sadness for others and tears of happiness for the love in his family....

jocaps · 17/07/2017 15:28

My son loves cats. You can imagine his reaction when he finally got one.

BeeFarseer · 17/07/2017 17:59

My eldest son has autism, and was completely unable to contain his glee at getting to correct his teacher recently. He'd been off sick with an upset stomach, and on returning to school, entertained the entire class with graphic descriptions of what he'd been through, complete with sound effects.

His teacher was telling me this, and said that they'd spoken about his upset stomach - to which my son gleefully jumped up and down and said 'But you're wrong Miss! It wasn't my stomach, it was my BUM!!!'.

Christmas 2015 when my then 7 year old daughter opened a present with a T shirt saying "youre going to be a big sister" She just didn't know what to do or say and it took her a good few weeks to process the news! She would randomly ask me "so is it really true then? You're having a baby??" Even now, baby is 1 and she still says "I can't believe I have a sister"

Maisiesaves · 17/07/2017 18:12

My son has ASD and when he is happy, je jumps up and down, spins around, claps his hands and laughs. It's the sweetest thing!! The ice cream van now stops outside our front door and every time my son hears it, he runs to the door humming the tinkle and says "ice cream truck" by way of greeting!

We were lucky enough to be able to take our then 7 year old twin boys to Disneyland Paris. We hadn't told them as we had booked it last minute and had to wait until we had permission for my power wheelchair to be able to go into the hold of the airplane as it takes up so much room. We were going on a Sunday morning so the boys stayed at nannas house which was something they did often and we had to get up really early to get to the airport. My husband got me up and ready and we went to my parents (my mum was coming to help with me) and the boys were dressed and very bleary eyed and we sat them down(we videoed it) and asked why they thought they were up so early to which they had no answer. We asked what the picture was on my top (mickey) and what was on the t-shirts they had on again mickey, we asked why they thought we might be wearing mickey outfits and why we were up so early in the morning. They looked at each other and me then back at each other full of questions but couldn't give an answer. We said we are going to Disneyland Paris and we are going now, right now. They nearly fell off the sofa with a stunned look, they screamed and hugged each other then screamed some more then came and hugged and kissed both myself and dad. We said come on get your coats and they said your not joking are you??? We said no we are going now to the airport and nannas coming with us. They laughed and skipped and jumped out to the car they didn't stop smiling all the way to the airport. At check in the lady said your checking in to go to Paris is that right and they both shouted Disneyland Paris she was laughing and said how long have they been waiting to go and we said oh about an hour as they didn't know. I often watch that video back just to see the reaction the stunned look on both faces is brilliant and they way they hugged each other it must be a twin thing. I will never forget telling them and the whole holiday was fantastic.

mollymoo818 · 17/07/2017 18:20

One of the nicest times was when we told them they were going to Disney Land and they were so excited. I made sure to not tell them until nearer the time because I knew they wouldn't be able to contain their excitement. For the whole month before we left they got so excited every single time that they thought about it. Was lovely to see.

Rachmolly80 · 17/07/2017 18:22

sigh

We are very excited most days but an all time highlight (definitely memorable anyway) was at Christmas when my daughter walked in to the front room to find Father Christmas had been.. the mince and carrot were gone, crumbs remained.

Snowy footprints followed his journey from the fireplace (modern feature fireplace with a blocked flu, you get the idea) to where he had left her presents.

She bounced, she squealed, she pointed and gasped in awe. Then she pooed herself. While bouncing. She was 4 at the time.

This made me feel I'd never known true excitement because to my knowledge I've never soiled myself through pure joy. Maybe next year

Foniks · 17/07/2017 20:17

My 1 year old, every time she gets a bit of cheese!
As soon as she sees me walk into the room with cheese, she does a little squeal of delight and comes bombing over to me making excited noises the whole way. And while eating the cheese, she'll dance around happily.
It's simple things sometimes, especially when they're young I think.

kaycm25 · 17/07/2017 20:53

My youngest gets very excited about Halloween. I took her out trick or treating for the first time last Halloween and now thinks that if she dresses up she can go trick or treating-even in July.

Rigbyroo · 17/07/2017 21:34

Dds face when she got her birthday present that she had been 'dreaming about!' It was such joy! The smile, the squeal and the little dance made everyone so happy!

mrsglowglow · 17/07/2017 22:12

Ds at his y6 leavers disco. They all had the night of their lives but then the DJ played the last song 'til I see you again' . Himself and 60 class mates let it all out. Hugs, tears, laughter. Very moving as most are going in different directions come September.

UnicornPug · 17/07/2017 22:37

The very first time I took my daughter to see Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat at the theatre. My mum took me for the first time aged 5 and I took my daughter at the same age. I looked over at her not long after it had started and she was absolutely rapt but great big tears were rolling down her face.
"What's the matter?" I asked.
"It's just all so.... beautiful and wonderful!" She replied.

She still cries at the theatre, no matter what it is. Something about the experience moves her.... and then I cry too, usually. We look a right pair!

ohlittlepea · 17/07/2017 23:27

Everytime I pick her up from nursery, she loves it there but is so excited to see me, it completely melts my heart. She jumps up and down and flaps her arms and usually call me my first name instead of mummy because she's all fizzy and excited. I haven't done anything that deserves this hero worship, and I don't get it at many other times, but it is very, very sweet!

13foxxy · 18/07/2017 09:59

My 5yr old son suddenly started crying saying it was unfair and that he wanted to come out first instead of his elder sister ( come out as in from my tummy-being born)
😂😂

Sammyislost · 18/07/2017 11:17

I killed a daddy long legs last night, and my 7 year old cried about it, and then cried before bed about it, and then cried about it before school this morning. Oh dear. His emotions just got too much for him!!

Sad Sad

SuzCG · 18/07/2017 12:02

The morning of the 1st December when 'Elf on the Shelf' has flown in overnight! My two are absolutely bursting to get downstairs and see where he is and that continues every morning. I shall be so sad when the 'magic' disappears...

katieskatie82 · 18/07/2017 14:28

my little boy was so excited when i told him he was going to legoland he cried his little heart out!

rocketriffs · 18/07/2017 16:23

I took my boy for a day out on The Tornado. The massive steam railway engine. He had never seen a steam engine for real, so we got ourselves a good vantage point to see it depart the station. It let off a loud whistle and then steam hissed out from the front of the engine, smoke began puffing and chuffing and he went absolutely bananas. Laughing, screaming, jumping up and down. He couldn't believe his eyes and ears at what this machine was doing. He cheered and shouted "Tornado", as it pulled away, and then excitedly mimicked the sounds and actions of the train. Excited wasn't the word. He went nuts!!

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 18/07/2017 20:38

DD gets just as excited hearing that she's having spaghetti for her tea as she does when we surprise her with a day out to a safari park!

For my sons 5th birthday last year I threw him a surprise BBQ. His dad took him out and when he came back everybody was there and we had the garden all decorated and everything. He opened the garden gate and we all shouted surprise and he burst into tears and ran off to his bedroom. Not quite the reaction we were aiming for.
